Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un conmutador de paquetes, un medio de entrada para la recepción de datos de una fuente del mismo, una pluralidad de medios de procesamiento para ensamblar la información recibida en paquetes, medio de almacenamiento para almacenar los paquetes de datos, medio de bus para permitir la comunicación entre cada uno de dicha pluralidad de medios de procesamiento y el medio de almacenamiento mencionado y medio de arbitraje para decidir cuál se dicha pluralidad de medios de procesamiento recibirá acceso a dicho medio de bus, comprendiendo el medio de arbitraje indicado un medio programable para designar selectivamente y de manera alterable cualquiera de por lo menos dos niveles diferentes de prioridad de acceso a dicho medio de bus para cada uno de dicha pluralidad del medio de procesamiento asegurando así un mayor acceso a dicho medio de bus mediante aquellos de tales medios de procesamiento designados para un nivel mayor de prioridad.
