Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a preparar una solución acuosa de una resina termoendurecible catiónica, soluble en agua, cuyo procedimiento comprende hacer reaccionar metilbisaminopropilamina con un componente de ácido dicarboxílico saturado, que comprende ácido oxálico para formar una poliaminopoliamida que contiene grupos de amina terciaria, la relación molar de metilbisaminopropilamina al componente de ácido siendo de alrededor de 0.9:1 a 1.2:1 aproximadamente, y luego hacer reaccionar la poliaminopoliamida en solución acuosa con alrededor de un mol a aproximadamente 1.5 moles de una epihalohidrina por mol de grupos de amina terciaria presentes en la poliamonopoliamida.
