Abstract

The invention relates to the cooperage and production of aged alcoholic products, namely to an oak stave, a barrel consisting of these staves and processes for ageing of alcoholic distillates in the presence of oak staves or in oak barrels.The oak stave has an increased contact surface, obtained by its loosening, made by cutting and/or scratching nonparallel to the wood fibers.The oak barrel of the proposed staves has an increased contact surface, obtained by its loosening, made by cutting and/or scratching at a depth of 3…10 mm and a distance of 20…30 mm.The process for ageing of alcoholic distillates provides for their ageing in the presence of the proposed oak staves, optionally heat-treated, and with the contact surface increased before heat treatment.The process for ageing of alcoholic distillates provides for their ageing in airtight containers in the presence of the proposed oak staves or in the proposed barrels, used previously, with increased contact surface of the staves, obtained without removing the depleted wood layer.
