Abstract
The invention relates to analytical chemistry, namely to a photocolorimetric method for quantitative determination of humic substances in natural waters.The method, according to the invention, consists in that it is added aqueous solution of methylene blue to the test sample and is measured the difference of light absorption between the initial solution of methylene blue and the obtained mixture at the maximum absorption of 609 nm. The concentration of humic substances is determined using a calibration curve.
