Abstract

A method for express detecting of the presence of thiocyanate in fluids comprises mixing of an aqueous solution of the test sample with an aqueous solution of the indicator, then it is determined the concentration of thiocyanate of resulting mixture by analyzing. As an indicator the gold nanoparticles are used, and the presence of thiocyanate is determined visually by a colour change of resulting mixture. The concentration of thiocyanate is further visually determined visually by comparing the colour intensity with a calibration scale and further it is determined by spectrophotometric analysis of the mixture which is obtained in the visible area of the spectrum.
