Abstract

The apparatus for attaching a drainage element (8) in a press for eliminating liquid from solid pressed material comprises a turn-lock fastener (16) by means of which the ends of the drainage element (8) are each detachably fastened to a pressure plate (5, 6) limiting the pressing chamber (7). In this arrangement, each end (22) of the drainage element (8) passes through a closure housing (18) fixedly arranged on the pressure plate (5, 6), terminating in a liquid collection chamber (12, 13) and bearing with its end face (37) on an end wall (14, 15) which limits the liquid collection chamber (12, 13). Since the closure housing (18) forms the stationary part of the turn-lock fastener (16), the forces acting on the pressure plate (5, 6) during the pressing operation are fully supported on the end wall (14, 15) so that the movable part of the turn-lock fastener (16) which is connected to the drainage element (8) remains free of restraints. <IMAGE>
