Abstract

본 발명은 이동통신 네트워크를 통해 접속될 수 있는 다수의 컴퓨터 시스템에 유지관리되는 공유 데이타 파일의 사본을 관리하는 데이타 관리 시스템 및 방법을 제공한다. 이 시스템은, 공유 데이타 파일의 각 사본(420)과 관련되며, 그 사본에 행해지는 변경의 레코드(540)을 유지하는 로깅 수단(410), 이동통신 네트워크(460)에 대한 접속을 통하여 공유 데이타 파일의 다른 사본(420)을 위해 유지관리 되는 레코드(550)를 검색하는 검색수단, 검색된 레코드를 병합하여 변경 시퀸스를 생성하는 병합 수단(560), 변경 시퀀스에 사전정의된 규칙을 적용하여 이 변경 시퀀스내의 충돌을 해결하는 충돌 해결 수단(590), 충돌이 해결된 변경 시퀀스를 기반으로 공유 파일의 사본(420)을 변경하는 수단(590)을 포함한다.
본 발명은 종래의 응용프로그램이 이동 데이타 접속을 효율적으로 사용할 수 있게 하는 포괄적인 플랫폼을 제공한다. 본 발명의 해결방법은 하나의 응용프로그램 또는 특정 응용프로그램 세트로 제한되지 않는 포괄적인 것이다. 또한, 응용프로그램으로부터 통신의 자율성을 가지며, 효율적인 방식으로 데이타를 처리하므로 효율성을 향상시킨다. 더욱이, 응용프로그램이 제공된 기능요소를 사용하도록 변경할 필요가 없으므로 사용이 용이하다.

Claims (20)

  1. 이동통신 네트워크(460)를 통하여 접속될 수 있는 다수의 컴퓨터 시스템상에 유지관리되는 공유 데이타 파일의 사본(copies)을 관리하는 방법에 있어서, (a) 상기 공유 데이타 파일의 각 사본(205,420)에 대하여, 그 사본에 행해지는 변경의 레코드(540)를 유지관리하는 단계와, (b) 상기 이동통신 네트워크(460)에 대한 접속을 통하여 상기 공유 데이타 파일의 다른 사본에 대해 유지관리되는 레코드(550)를 검색하는 단계와, (c) 변경 시퀀스를 생성하기 위하여 상기 검색된 레코드를 병합(560)하는 단계와, (d) 상기 변경 시퀀스에 사전정의된 규칙(580)을 적용하여 상기 변경 시퀀스내의 충돌(conflicts)을 해결하는 단계와, (e) 상기 충돌이 해결된 변경 시퀀스를 근거로 상기 공유 파일의 사본(205,420)을 변경하는 단계를 포함하는 공유데이타 파일의 사본 관리방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 단계(a)는 상기 다수의 컴퓨터 시스템의 각각에서 수행되고, 상기 다수의 컴퓨터 시스템은 상기 단계(a)동안 상기 이동통신 네트워크로부터 접속해제되는 공유데이타 파일의 사본 관리방법.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 다수의 컴퓨터 시스템은 단지 상기 검색 단계(b)동안 상기 이동통신 네트워크(460)에 접속되는 공유데이타 파일의 사본 관리방법.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 단계(a) 내지 단계(d)의 각각은 상기 다수의 컴퓨터 시스템중의 소정 컴퓨터 시스템상에서 수행되고, 상기 단계(b)는 상기 이동통신 네트워크(460)에 대한 접속을 통하여 상기 다수의 컴퓨터 시스템중의 소정 컴퓨터 시스템에 의해 유지 관리되는 상기 레코드(550)를 교환하는 단계를 포함하며, 상기단계(e)는 상기 공유 파일의 국부적 사본(420)을 수정하는 단계를 포함하는 공유데이타 파일의 사본 관리방법.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 단계(a)동안 각 변경이 기록되는 대로 우선순위 정보가 상기 각 변경과 함께 저장되고, 상기 단계(c)에서 상기 우선순위 정보는 상기 단계(d)의 후속되는 해결을 위하여 충돌하는 변경에 상대적인 우선순위를 할당하는 공유데이타 파일의 사본 관리방법.
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 단계(a)에서 저장된 상기 우선순위 정보는 변경을 행하는 사용자의 신원(identity)을 포함하는 공유데이타 파일의 사본 관리방법.
  7. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 단계(a)에서 저장된 상기 우선순위 정보는 타임 스탬프(time stamp) 정보를 포함하여, 이전의 변경이 차후의 변경보다 높은 우선순위를 가지도록 하는 공유데이타 파일의 사본 관리방법.
  8. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 단계(d)동안, 충돌하는 낮은 우선순위를 갖는 변경은 완전히 무효화되는 공유데이타 파일의 사본 관리방법.
  9. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 단계(d)동안, 낮은 우선순위를 갖는 변경의 충돌하는 부분만이 무효화되는 공유데이타 파일의 사본 관리방법.
  10. 제1항 내지 제9항 중의 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 단계(b)동안, 상기 레코드는 상기 이동통신 네트워크(460)상으로 전송되기에 앞서 압축되는 공유데이타 파일의 사본 관리방법.
  11. 공유 데이타 파일의 사본(420)을 유지관리하는 컴퓨터 시스템으로서, 상기 공유 데이타 파일의 사본은 이동통신 네트워크(460)을 통하여 상기 컴퓨터 시스템에 접속될 수 있는 다수의 다른 컴퓨터 시스템에서 또한 유지관리되고, 각 컴퓨터 시스템은 상기 이동통신 네트워크(460)로부터 접속해제된 동안 상기 공유 파일의 사본에 행해지는 변경의 레코드(540,550)를 유지하도록 구성되는 상기 컴퓨터 시스템에 있어서, (a) 상기 컴퓨터 시스템을 상기 이동통신 네트워크(460)에 접속시켜, 상기 다수의 다른 컴퓨터 시스템에서 유지관리되는 상기 공유 데이타 파일의 사본을 위해 유지된 상기 레코드(550)를 검색하는 검색 수단(440,450)과, (b) 상기 공유데이타 파일의 로컬 사본(420)을 위해 유지된 상기 레코드(540)와 상기 검색된 레코드(550)를 병합하여 변경 시퀀스를 생성하는 병합 수단(560)과, (c) 상기 변경 시퀀스에 사전정의된 규칙(580)을 적용하여 상기 변경시퀀스내의 충돌을 해결하는 충돌 해결 수단(590)과, (d) 상기 충돌이 해결된 변경 시퀀스를 기반으로 상기 공유 파일의 로컬 사본(420)을 변경하는 수단(590)을 포함하는 컴퓨터 시스템.
  12. 제11항에 있어서, 상기 검색 수단(440,450)이 상기 변경 레코드를 검색하는 동안에만, 상기 다수의 컴퓨터 시스템이 상기 이동통신 네트워크에 접속되는 컴퓨터 시스템.
  13. 제11항에 있어서, 각 변경이 기록되는 대로 우선순위 정보가 상기 각 변경과 함께 저장되고, 상기 병합 수단(560)은 상기 병합 과정동안 상기 우선순위 정보를 사용하도록 구성되어, 상기 충돌 해결 수단(590)에의한 후속 해결을 위해 충돌하는 변경에 상대적인 우선순위를 할당하는 컴퓨터 시스템.
  14. 제13항에 있어서, 변경과 함께 저장된 상기 우선순위 정보는 상기 변경을 행한 사용자의 신원을 포함하는 컴퓨터 시스템.

  18. 이동통신 네트워크(460)를 통하여 접속될 수 있는 다수의 컴퓨터 시스템에서 유지관리되는 공유 데이타 파일의 사본을 관리하는 데이타 관리 시스템에 있어서, (a) 상기 공유 데이타 파일의 각 사본(420)과 관련하여, 상기 사본에 행해지는 변경의 레코드(540,550)를 유지하는 로깅(logging) 수단(410)과, (b) 상기 이동통신 네트워크(460)에 대한 접속을 통하여 상기 공유 데이타 파일의 다른 사본을 위해 유지관리되는 레코드를 검색하는 검색수단(440,450)과, (c) 상기 검색된 레코드를 병합하여 변경 시퀀스를 생성하는 병합 수단(560)과, (d) 상기 변경 시퀀스에 사전정의된 규칙(580)을 적용하여 상기 변경 시퀀스내의 충돌을 해결하는 충돌 해결 수단(590)과, (e) 상기 충돌이 해결된 변경 시퀀스를 기반으로 상기 공유 파일의 사본(420)을 변경하는 수단(590)을 포함하는 데이타 관리 시스템.
  19. 제18항에 있어서, 상기 검색 수단(440,450)이 상기 변경 레코드를 검색하는 동안에만, 상기 다수의 컴퓨터 시스템이 상기 이동통신 네트워크에 접속되는 데이타 관리 시스템.
  20. 제18항에 있어서, 각 변경이 기록되는 대로 우선순위 정보가 상기 각 변경과 함께 저장되고, 상기 병합 수단(560)은 상기 병합 과정동안 상기 우선순위 정보를 사용하도록 구성되어, 상기 충돌 해결 수단(590)에 의한 후속 해결을 위해 충돌하는 변경에 상대적으로 우선순위를 할당하는 데이타 관리 시스템.
