Abstract

본 발명은 편파모드분산을 저감하는 구조를 구비한 분산시프트파이버를 제공하는 것을 과제로한 것이며, 그 해결수단에 있어서, 분산시프트파이버는, 석영유리를 주성분으로 하고 그 0분산파장치가 1.4㎛이상, 또한 1.7㎛이하의 범위로 설정된 싱글모드광파이버이다. 특히 당해분산시프트파이버는, 클래드에 상당하는 부위에 오목부가 형성된 굴절률프로파일을 가진 동시에, 적어도 코어영역전체에 플루오르가 첨가되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 것이다.

Claims (5)

1.4㎛이상 또한 1.7㎛이하의 범위내의 영(0)분산파장을 가진 석영유리를 주성분으로 하는 분산시프트파이버에 있어서, 적어도 플루오르가 첨가된 유리영역이고, 제 1굴절률을 가진 동시에 제 1외경a를 가진 안쪽코어와, 상기 안쪽코어의 외주에 형성된, 적어도 플루오르가 첨가된 유리영역이고, 상기 제 1굴절률보다도 낮은 제 2굴절률을 가진 동시에 제 2외경b를 가진 바깥쪽코어와, 상기 바깥쪽코어의 외주에 형성된 유리영역이고, 상기 제 2굴절률보다도 낮은 제 3굴절률을 가진 안쪽클래드와, 상기 안쪽클래드의 외주에 형성된 유리영역이고, 상기 제 3굴절률보다도 높은 제 4굴절률을 가진 바깥쪽클래드를 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 분산시프트파이버.
제1항에 있어서, 상기 안쪽클래드에는, 적어도 소정농도의 플루오르가 함되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 분산시프트파이버.
상기 안쪽클래드에 대한 상기 바깥쪽클래드의 비굴절률차가 △n3, 상기 안쪽클래드의 외경이 C일 때,0.01%≤△n3≤0.10%, 30㎛≤c≤60㎛인 조건을 만족하고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 분산시프트파이버.
제3항에 있어서, 상기 안쪽코어 및 바깥쪽코어는, a/b≤0.20, b≥15㎛인 조건을 만족하고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 분산시프트파이버.
제3항에 있어서, 0분산파장은 1560nm이상 또한 1600nm이하이고, 모드필드직경은 8.0㎛이상이고, 길이 2m에서의 커트오프파장은 1.0㎛이상 또한 1.8㎛이하이고, 그리고, 편파모드분산은 0.25ps/(km)1/2이하인 것을 특징으로 하는 분산시프트파이버.
