Abstract

본 발명은 배기가스의 압력으로 배기가스의 누출 상태를 운전자가 검출 인지하고, 그에 적절한 대응을 행할 수 있게 함으로써, 정화되지 않은 배기가스의 누출에 따른 환경오염 초래의 우려를 배제할 수 있게 하는 자동차 엔진의 배기장치를 제공하기 위하여 연소실과 연통하도록 형성된 실린더헤드의 흡,배기포트에 연결되어 엔진의 각 실린더에서 발생되는 연소가스를 모으는 배기매니폴드와; 이 배기매니폴드에 연소가스가 외부로 배출될 수 있도록 하는 배기파이프와; 상기 배기파이프에 연결되어 배기가스에 의한 소음을 제거하는 소음기와; 상기 소음기 및 배기파이프 사이에 연결되어 배기가스의 유해성분을 정화시키는 촉매컨버어터로 구성되는 엔진의 배기장치에 있어서, 상기한 촉매컨버어터의 전단부에 산소센서와 함께 엔진제어장치에 전기적으로 연결된 배기가스 압력센서를 장착하고, 미리 설정된 이하압력이 촉매컨버어터에 작용될 때 이와 같은 압력정보가 입력되는 상기 엔진제어장치에 의해 경고수단이 점등되거나 경고음을 발하도록 상기 엔진제어장치에 경고수단을 전기적으로 연결함을 특징으로 한다.

Claims (1)

  1. 연소실(2)과 연통하도록 형성된 실린더헤드(4)의 배기포트(8)에 연결되어 엔진의 각 실린더(14)에서 발생되는 연소가스를 모으는 배기매니폴드(16)와; 이 배기매니폴드(16)에 연소가스가 외부로 배출될 수 있도록 하는 배기파이프(18)와; 상기 배기파이프(18)에 연결되어 배기가스에 의한 소음을 제거하는 소음기(20)와; 상기 소음기(20) 및 배기파이프(18) 사이에 연결되어 배기가스의 유해성분을 정화시키는 촉매컨버어터(21)로 구성되는 엔진의 배기장치에 있어서, 상기한 촉매컨버어터(21)의 전단부에 산소센서(22)와 함께 엔진제어장치에 전기적으로 연결된 배기가스 압력센서(30)를 장착하고, 미리 설정된 이하압력이 촉매컨버어터(21)에 작용될 때 이와 같은 압력정보가 입력되는 상기 엔진제어장치에 의해 경고수단이 점등되거나 경고음을 발하도록 상기 엔진제어장치에 경고수단을 전기적으로 연결함을 특징으로 하는 자동차 엔진의 배기장치.
