Abstract
본 발명은 광학 특성 금형(optical quality mold), 성형된 중합체 제품에 정밀한 미세구조(microfeature)를 제공하기 위한 금형 삽입체(mold insert), 이러한 금형의 제조방법 및 이러한 금형을 이용하여 제조한 중합체 제품을 제공한다.
본 발명에 따른 광학 특성 금형 및 금형 삽입체는 광학적으로 평평한 기판, 상기 기판에 도포된 물질의 층 및 상기 기판에 도포된 물질의 층내에 예정된 패턴으로 형성된 하나 이상의 함몰부(depression)를 포함한다. 이러한 함몰부의 깊이는 기판에 도포된 층의 두께에 의해 정밀하게 결정된다. 이러한 금형을 유체상태의 수지와 접촉시킴으로써, 그 위에 일체형으로 형성된 미세구조를 갖는 부품을 제작할 수 있다.

제3A 내지 3D도는 본 발명에 따른 금형 삽입체를 제조하는 또다른 공정의 여러 단계에서 제조된 구조의 개략적인 부분단면도,
제4A 및 4B도는 제3D도의 금형 삽입체를 사용하는 성형 공정의 단계를 나타내는 개략도.
Claims (20)
- 광학적으로 평평한 기판, 상기 기판에 도포된 물질의 층 및 상기 기판에 도포된 물질의 층내에 예정된 패턴으로 형성된 하나 이상의 함몰부(depression)를 포함하는 금형을 제공하는 단계: 상기 금형을 유체상태의 중합체 수지와 접촉시켜 실질직으로 상기 함몰부를 수지로 충전시키는 단계; 상기 중합체 수지를 경화시키는 단계; 및 상기 경화된 수지를 금형으로부터 제거하는 단계를 포함하여, 중합제 수지로부터 그 위에 일체형으로 형성된 미세구조(microfeature)를 갖는 전자 디바이스용 부품을 제조하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 금형과 유체상태의 중합체 수지를 접촉시키는 단계가 상기 금형을 하나 이상의 용매중의 중합체 용액, 용융된 열가소성 중합체 및 미경화된 열경화성 중합체로 중합체 용액으로 이루어진 그룹중에서 선택된 조성물과 접촉시킴을 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 금형을 제공하는 단계가 약 0.1 내지 50㎛의 최대 깊이를 갖는 예정된 패턴의 함몰부를 형성시킴을 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 금형을 제공하는 단계가 광학적으로 평평한 표면에 금속을 도포하여 상기 광학적으로 평평한 표면을 복제함으로써 광학적으로 평평한 기판을 형성시킴을 포함하는 방법.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 금속을 상기 광학적으로 평평한 표면에 약 2mil 이상의 두께로 도포하는 방법.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 기판을 형성시키기 위하여 광학적으로 평평한 표면상에 도포하는 금속이 니켈인 방법.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 금형을 제공하는 단계가 상기 기판에 금속층을 도포하여 기판에 도포된 물질의 층을 형성시키는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제7항에 있어서, 상기 기판에 도포된 금속이 크롬, 구리, 알루미늄, 티타늄 및 몰리브덴으로 이루어진 그룹중에서 선택되는 방법.
- 제7항에 있어서, 상기 금속을 약 0.1㎛ 내지 약 50㎛ 범위의 두께로 상기 기판상에 도포하는 방법.
- 제7항에 있어서, 상기 금형을 제공하는 단계가, 상기 기판상에 도포된 금속층상에 차폐층(masking layer)을 도포하고 패턴화한 다음 상기 기판에 도포된 층을 에칭시켜 예정된 패턴의 함몰부를 형성시키는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제7항에 있어서, 상기 금형을 제공하는 단계가, 상기 기판에 도포된 물질의 층에 이와 다른 화학 조성을 갖는 물질의 상부층을 도포하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서, 상기 상부층을 티타늄, 알루미늄, 몰리브덴 및 니켈로 이루어진 그룹중에서 선택된 금속으로부터 제조하는 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서, 상기 금형을 제공하는 단계가, 상기 상부층상에 차폐층을 도포하고 패턴화한 다음 상기 상부층 및 상기 기판에 도포된 층을 에칭시켜 예정된 패턴의 함몰부를 형성시키는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제13항에 있어서, 상기 에칭 단계가 테이퍼진(tapered) 측벽을 갖는 함몰부를 생성시키는 방법.
- 제13항에 있어서, 상기 금형을 중합체 수지와 접촉시키기 전에 차례층을 제거하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 제15항에 있어서, 상기 금형을 중합체 수지와 접촉시키기 전에 상부층을 제거하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
- 중합체 수지로부터 제조되고, 금형을 유체 상태의 중합체 수지와 접촉시킴으로써 제공되고 일체형으로 형성된 미세구조를 갖는 부품을 포함하는 전자 디바이스.
- 제17항에 있어서, 상기 미세구조가 0.1㎛ 내지 50㎛ 범위의 높이를 갖는 전자 디바이스.
- 제17항에 있어서, 상기 부품이 평판 표시장치(flat panel display)인 전자 디바이스.
