Abstract

Claims (27)

  1. 생산자(a producer)에서 잠재적 사용자(a potential user)에게로 소프트웨어 객체(software objects)를 배포(distribute)하는 방법에 있어서, 소프트웨어 객체(a software objects)를 제공하는 단계와; 컴퓨터 액세스 가능 메모리 매체(a computer-accessible memory media)를 제공하는 단계와; 화일 관리 프로그램(a file management program)을 제공하는 단계와; 상기 소프트웨어 객체를 반전가능하게(reversibly) 기능적으로 제한하는 단계와; 상기 소프트웨어 객체를 상기 컴퓨터 액세스가능 메모리 매체로 기록하는 단계와; 상기 액세스 가능 매체를 상기 잠재적 사용자에게 전달(shippind)하는 단계와; 상기 화일 관리 프로그램을 사용자 제어 데이타 처리 시스템(user-controlled data processing system)으로 로딩하고, 상기 사용자 제어 데이타 처리 시스템이 운영 체제(an operating system)와 연관시키는 단계와; 상기 사용자 제어 데이타 처리 시스템으로 상기 컴퓨터 액세스가능 메모리 매체를 판독하는 단계와; 상기 사용자 제어 시스템에 의해 상기 화일 관리 프로그램을 사용하여 상기 소프트웨어 객체에 대한 액세스를 제한하는 단계를 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 화일 관리 프로그램은 상기 사용자 제어 데이타 처리 시스템에 의해 실행될 때 다수의 동작모드(a plurality of modes of opertation)로 동작하며 상기 다수의 동작 모드는, (a) 상기 소프트웨어 객체의 상기 반전가능 기능제한을 반전시키므로써, 상기 소프트웨어 객체가 일시적으로 인에이블(enable)되는 일시적인 시험 동작 모드(a temporary trial mode of operation)와; (b) 상기 소프트웨어 객체의 기능적인 제한이 영구적으로 반전되어 상기 잠재적 사용자가 상기 소프트웨어 객체를 제한없이 사용하는 영구 사용 모드(a permanent use of operation)를 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 다수의 동작 모드는, (c) 상기 소프트웨어 객체에 관한 선택된 정보(selected information)가 상기 잠재적 사용자가 선택하기에 용이한 방식으로 제공되는 시험가동 동작 모드(a browsing mode of operation)를 더 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기능적 제한은 상기 소프트웨어 객체의 적어도 일부분에 대한 암호화(encryption)를 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기능적 제한은 상기 소프트웨어 객체의 중요한 기능적 측면의 부재(the absence)를 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기능적 제한은 상기 소프트웨어 객체의 제한되지 않은 사용을 저지하기 위한 시간 제한을 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.

  8. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 화일 관리 프로그램을 상기 컴퓨터 액세스가능 메모리 매체로 기록하는 단계와; 상기 소프트웨어 객체 및 상기 화일 관리 프로그램 모두를 포함하는 상기 컴퓨터 액세스가능 메모리 매체를 상기 생산자에서 상기 잠재적 사용자로 전달하는 단계를 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  9. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 화일 관리 프로그램은 상기 사용자 제어 데이타 처리 시스템의 상기 운영 체제에 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  10. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 화일 관리 프로그램은, 상기 소프트웨어 객체의 (a) 시험(trial) 및 (b) 주문(ordering)을 용이하게 하는 고객 인터페이스(a customer interface)를 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  11. 제10항에 있어서, 상기 고객 인터페이스는 상기 잠재적 사용자에 의해 상기 사용자 제어 데이타 처리 시스템으로의 입력 정보를 수신하는 다수의 활성 데이타 필드(a plurality of active data fields)를 구비한 적어도 하나의 디스플레이 스크린을 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  12. 제11항에 있어서, 상기 고객 인터페이스는, 상기 데이타 필드내에 포함된 정보를 상기 생산자에게 전송하는 다수의 사용자 선택가능한 전송 옵션(a pluratily of user-selectable transmission option)을 더 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  13. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 화일 관리 프로그램은, (a) 상기 사용자 제어 데이타 처리 시스템의 상기운영 체제를 운영 체제 입력 호출 및 출력 호출에 대해 지속적으로 감시(maintaining)하는 동작과, (b) 상기 사용자 제어 데이타 처리 시스템의 상기 운영 체제가 상기 소프트웨어 객체를 요구하는 시점을 식별하는 동작과, (c) 상기 소프트웨어 객체와 연관된 일시 액세스 키(a temporary access key)를 인출(fetching)하는 동작과; (d) 상기 일시 액세스 키의 유효성을 판정하기 위해 상기 일시 액세스 키를 검사하는 동작과; (e) 상기 소프트웨어 객체의 상기 기능 제한을 반전하는 동작과, (f) 상기 소프트웨어 객체를 상기 데이타 처리 시스템으로 전송하여 처리하는 동작을 포함하는 다수의 동작을 수행하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  14. 제13항에 있어서, 상기 기능적 제한은 상기 소프트웨어 객체의 적어도 일부분에 대한 암호화를 포함하고, 상기 소프트웨어 객체의 기능적 제한을 반전하는 상기 단계는 상기 소프트웨어 객체의 암호화된 부분을 암호해독(decrypting)하는 단계를 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  15. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 일시 시험 동작 모드는 일시 액세스 키를 사용하여 인에이블하게 되는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  16. 제15항에 있어서, 상기 일시 액세스 키는 상기 일시 시험 동작 모드의 시작시에 개시되는 소프트웨어 클럭(a software clock)과 연돤되는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  17. 제15항에 있어서, 상기 일시 액세스 키는 상기 시험 동작 모드동안 상기 소프트웨어 객체가 사용될 때마다 갱신되는 카운터와 연관되는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  18. 제15항에 있어서, 상기 영구 사용 모드는 상기 소프트웨어 객체의 상기 기능적 제한을 영구적으로 제거함으로써 개시되는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  19. 제15항에 있어서, 상기 시험 동작 모드동안의 상기 소프트웨어 객체에 대한 액세스는 상기 일시 액세스 키를 사용하여 성취되며, 상기 일시 액세스 키는 상기 시험 동작 모드의 진행에 따라 변경되며, 보안성(security)을 증대시키기 위해 상기 데이타 처리 시스템내의 다수의 장소에 저장되는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 방법.
  20. 소프트웨어 객체를 생산자에서 잠재적 사용자로 배포하는 장치에 있어서, 컴퓨터 액세스가능 메모리 매체와; 상기 컴퓨터 액세스가능 메모리에 저장되는 반전가능하게 기능적으로 제한된 소프트웨어 객체와; 상기 컴퓨터 액세스가능 메모리 매체에 기록된 화일 관리 프로그램을 포함하고; 상기 화일 관리 프로그램은 다수의 동작 모드에서 동작하되, 상기 다수의 동작 모드는, (a) 상기 화일 관리 프로그램이 상기 소프트웨어 객체에 대한 액세스를 제한하는 일시 시험 동작 모드와; (b) 상기 화일 관리 프로그램이 상기 소프트웨어 객체에 대한 액세스를 제한하지 않는 영구 사용 동작 모드를 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 장치.
  21. 제20항에 있어서, 상기 다수의 동작 모드는, (c) 상기 소프트웨어 객체에 관한 선택된 정보가 상기 잠재적 사용자에게 상기 잠재적 사용자가 선택하기에 용이한 방식으로 제공되는 시험 가동 동작 모드를 더 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 장치.
  22. 제20항에 있어서, 상기 화일 관리 프로그램은 (a) 상기 사용자 제어 데이타 프로세서 시스템의 상기 운영 체제를 운영 체제 입력 호출 및 출력 호출에 대해 지속적으로 감시하는 동작을 포함하는 다수의 동작을 수행하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 장치.
  23. 제20항에 있어서, 상기 일시 시험 동작 모드동안 상기 소프트웨어 객체에 대한 액세스는 상기 시험 동작 모드의 진행에 따라 반경되는 일시 액세스 키를 사용하여 제한되는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 장치.
  24. 제20항에 있어서. 상기 화일 관리 프로그램은 사용자 제어 데이타 처리 시스템의 운영 체제에 포함되는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 장치.
  25. 제20항에 있어서, 상기 화일 관리 프로그램은 상기 소프트웨어 객체의 (a) 시험 및 (b) 주문을 용이하게 하는 고객 인터페이스를 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 장치.
  26. 제25항에 있어서, 상기 고객 인터페이스는 상기 잠재적 사용자에 의한 상기 사용자 제어 데이타 처리 시스템으로 입력 정보를 수신하는 다수의 활성 데이타 필드를 구비한 적어도 하나의 디스플레이 스크린을 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 장치.
  27. 제26항에 있어서, 상기 고객 인터페이스는 상기 데이타 필드내에 포함된 정보를 상기 생산자에게 전송하는 다수의 사용자 선택가능한 전송 옵션을 더 포함하는 소프트웨어 객체 배포 장치.
