Abstract

동시 방식의 음성 및 데이타(SVD) 모뎀이 팩스 모뎀을 구비한 팩스 장치와 텔레비젼 세트에 접속된다. 이 팩스 장치가 팩스 호출을 개시할 때, SVD모뎀은 가입자 회선의 신호 표시를 에뮬레이트한다. 이것은 팩스 장치로 하여금 이 팩스 장치를 수정하지 않고도 동작할 수 있도록 한다. 원단 SVD모뎀과 데이타 연결을 설정한 이후, 근단 SVD모뎀은 팩스 장치로부터 팩스 변조 신호를 복조하여 팩스 데이타를 복구한다. 다음, 이 팩스 데이타는 원단 SVD모뎀으로의 전송을 위한 데이타 변조 기술을 이용하여 재변조된다. 원단 SVD모뎀은 이 신호의 데이타부를 복조하여 팩스 데이타를 복구하고, 이 팩스 데이타를 원단 팩스 장치로의 전송을 위한 팩스 변조 기술을 이용하여 재변조된다.

팩스 변조를 데이타 변조로 변환하는 방법 및 장치

제1도는 발명의 원리를 구체화한 동시 방식의 음성 및 데이타 통신 시스템의 블럭도.
제2도는 제1도의 음성-데이타-팩스 모뎀의 블럭도.
제3도는 제1도의 동시 방식의 음성 및 데이타 통신 시스템에서 사용하기 위한 예시적인 핸드-쉐이킹(handshaking)음의 도표.

Claims (7)

  1. 팩스 변조신호를 수신하는 단계와; 상기 수신된 팩스 변조 신호를 복조하여 데이타 신호를 제공하는 단계 및; 동시 방식의 음성 및 데이타 변조를 이용하여, 원단 모뎀으로의 전송을 위해 상기 데이타 신호를 변조하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 팩스 변조를 데이타 변조로 변환하는 방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 변조단계가 음성 신호를 상기 데이타 신호와 함께 부호화하는 것을 특징으로 하는 팩스 변조를 데이타 변조로 변환하는 방법.
  3. 동시 방식의 음성 및 데이타 통신 시스템에서 사용하기 적합한 방법에 있어서, 팩스 장치로 부터 오프-훅 신호를 수신하는 단계와; 통신 채널에 접속하여 원단 팩스 장치를 나타내는 전화번호를 다이얼하는 단계와; 상기 전화번호를 다이얼링한 후에 동작모드 및 요구된 심볼 속도를 나타내는 호출 신호를 상기 통신 채널로 전송하는 단계와; 표준 응답 신호 이전에 수신되어 요구된 심볼 속도를 확인하는 식별 신호를 상기 원단 팩스 장치의 원단 데이타 통신 장비로 부터 수신하는 즉시, 상기 팩스 장치로 부터 팩스 신호를 받아들이는 단계와; 상기 팩스 신호를 복조하여 팩스 데이타를 베공하는 단계 및 ; 상기 원단 데이타 통신 장비로 전송하기 위해 상기 팩스 데이타를 재변조하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 동시방식의 음성 및 데이나 통신 시스템에서 사용하기 적합한 방법.
  4. 데이타 통신 장비에서 사용하기 적합한 방법에 있어서, a)전화호출에 응답하고, b)원단 데이타 통신 장비를 동시 방식으로 음성 및 데이타 신호를 전송하는 것으로서 식별하는 제2식별 신호를 검출하며, c)상기 제1식별 신호에 응답하여 제2식별 신호를 제공하는 수단과; 데이타 신호를 제공하기 위해 동시식 음성 및 데이타 신호의 데이타부와, 음성신호를 제공하기 위해 음성부를 복조하는 수단과; 팩스 변조 신호를 제공하기 위해 상기 데이타 신호를 변조하는 수단 및; 상기 팩스 변조 신호를 전송하는 수단을 포함하는 것을 특지으로 하는, 데이타 통신 장비에서 사용하기 적합한 장치.
  5. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 제1식별 신호 및 상기 제2식별 신호는 각기 개별 종단점으로 부터의 요구된 심볼 속도를 나타내는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타 통신 장비에서 사용하기 적합한 장치.
  6. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 제2식별 신호를 제공하는 수단은 상기 제2식별 신호를 전송한 후에 표준 응답음을 전송하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타 통신 장비에서 사용하기 적합한 장치.
  7. 데이타 신호를 제공하기 위해 팩스 변조 수단 (130)과; 원단 모뎀으로의 전송을 위해 상기 데이타 신호를 변조하는 데이타 변조 수단을 포함하고, 이 데이타 변조 수단은 동시 방식의 음성 및 데이타 변조(120)을 수행하며, 사이 원단 모뎀으로 부터 응답 신호를 수신하기 전에 요구된 심볼 속도를 나타내는 동시 방식의 음성 및 데이타 호출 신호를 제공하는 것을 특징으로 하는 모뎀.
