제4도 및 제5도는 본 발명의 흡수/반사 어레이가 광대역 주파수 범위에 결쳐 본 발명의 결합기의 분리 및 결합시에 현저한 효과를 갖는 것을 도시한 그래프.

Claims (7)

  1. 공통의 좁은 벽을 공유하는 1차 아암 및 2차 아암을 갖는 도파관 구조의 가변/전환가능 결합기에 있어서, 상기 공통 벽내에 최소한 하나의 애퍼추어를 갖고 있는 결합 수단 및 상기 애퍼추어를 통해 상기 1차 아암으로부터 상기 2차 아암으로 제공되는 전력량을 제어하기 위해 상기 애퍼추어내에 배치된 반사/흡수 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 가변/전환가능 결합기.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 반사/흡수 수단이 기판상에 배치된 핀 다이오드 어레이를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 가변/전환가능 결합기.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 기판이 실리카로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 가변/전환가능 결합기.
  4. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 핀 다이오드들이 평행으로 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 가변/전환가능 결합기.
  5. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 핀 다이오드가 수직으로 배향되는 것을 특징으로 하는 가변/전환가능 결합기.
  6. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 결합 수단이 바이어스 전압을 상기 핀 다이오드 어레이내의 상기 다이오드에 인가시키기 위한 바이어스 전압 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 가변/전환가능 결합기.
  7. 제6항에 있어서, 상기 바이어스 전압 수단이 바이어스 전압 공급장치, 및 바이어스 전압이 인가되는 상기 다이오드 어레이내의 상기 핀 다이오드의 수를 선택하기 위한 전력 레벨 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 가변/전환가능 결합기.
