제3도는 서식 문서의 모든 복사에 공통인 인쇄 자료 및 자동 처리시 서식 상에 인쇄된 소정의 부가적인 정보를 포함하여 본 발명에 의해 효과적으로 처리될 수 있는 샘플 서식 문서의 평면도.

Claims (17)

  1. 제1스펙트럼 범위내의 광을 사용하는 제1주사 모드에서 검출할 수 있으나 제1스펙트럼 범위 외부의 광을 사용하는 제2주사 모드에서는 검출할 수 없는 제1표시자를 포함하고, 상기 제1주사 모드 또는 제2주사 모드에서 검출할 수 있으며 자동 심볼 인식 자원에 의해 해독될 수 있는 1개 이상의 서식내에서 부호화되는 정보를 나타내는 제2표시자를 포함하는 문서로 부터 정보를 추출하기 위한 방법에 있어서, (a)제2표시자가 나타날 수 있고 정의가 상기 제2표시자를 위해 부호화의 형태를 명시하는 정보를 포함하는 상기 문서 상의 1개 이상의 관심 영역을 정하는 단계, (b)검출된 표시자의 화소 영상을 발생시키는 스캐너를 사용하여 상기 제2모드에서 상기 문서를 주시하는 단계, (c)메모리 디바이스내에서 단계(b)로 부터 얻어지는 화소 데이타를 기억하는 단계, (d)상기 문서용으로 정해지는 것들로 부터 관심 영역을 선택하고, 상기 선택된 관심 영역내의 상기 제2표시자용으로 명시되는 부호화의 형태에 적합한 자동 심볼 인식 자원으로써 상기 관심 영역의 화소 영상을 처리하는 단계, 및 (e)단계 (d)의 처리에 의해 발생되는 상기 제2 표시자를 나타내는 심볼 정보를 통합하는 1개 이상의 출력 기록을 발생시키는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 관심 영역의 화소 영상을 선택하여 처리하는 단계가, 상기 관심 영역이 소정의 상기 제2표시자를 포함하는지의 여부를 결정하는 단계, 및 상기 관심 영역이 상기 제2표시자를 포함하는 경우에만 상기 관심 영역을 위해 화소 영상을 처리하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 제2표시자를 포함하는 각각의 관심 영역의 화소 영상을 편집 조정용 가시 디스플레이로 전달하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 관심영역을 선택하여 처리하는 단계가 바코드 판독기, 광학식 표시 판독기, 자형 OCR판독기, 핸드프린트 숫자 데이타 판독기, 및 핸드프린트 영숫자 데이타 판독기를 포함하는 그룹으로부터 선택된 다음의 자동 심볼 인식자원들 중 1개의 자원으로써 처리하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, (f)검출된 제1표시자의 화소 영상을 발생시키는 스케너를 사용하여 상기 제1모드에서 상기 제1표시자만을 포함하는 상기 문서의 복사를 주사하는 단계, 및 (g)상기 메모리 디바이스내에서 단계(f)로 부터 얻어지는 화소 데이타를 기억하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 제2표시자를 포함하는 최소한 1개의 관심 영역의 화소 영상을 편집 조정용 가시 디스플레이로 전송하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  7. 제6항에 있어서, 가시 디스플레이로 전송될 최소한 1개의 상기 관심 영역을 위해, 최소한 1개의 상기 관심영역 내의 제1및 제2표시자 모두를 포함하는 단일 합병화소 영상을 발생시키도록 단계(b)및 단계(f)의 화소 영상의 화소 대 화소 합병을 수행하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  8. 제7항에 있어서, (h)각각의 관심 영역을 처리하는 자동 심볼 인식 자원이 상기 제2표시자를 나타내는 심볼정보를 성공적으로 발생시키는지의 여부를 결정하는 단계, 및 (i)상기 자동 심볼 인식 자원이 상기 제2표시자를 표시하는 심볼 정보를 발생시키는데 실패한 각각의 관심 영역을 위해 단일 합병 영상을 가시 디스플레이로 전송하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  9. 제7항에 있어서, 단계 (c)를 수행하기 전에, 상기 제2모드에서 검출할 수 없는 표시자를 포함하는 문서의 영역을 표시하도록 사용되는 화소 데이타량을 감소시키기 위해 단(b)에서 발생되는 화소 영상을 압축하는 단계, 및 상기 픽셀 대 픽셀 합병을 수행하기 전에, 단계(b)의 화소 영상을 얻기 위해 단계(c)에 기억된 화소 데이타를 감압하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  10. 제1 스펙트럼 범위내의 광을 사용하는 제1주사 모드에서 검출할 수 있으나 제1스펙트럼 범위 외부의 광을 사용하는 제2주사 모드에서는 검출할 수 없는 제1표시자를 포함하고, 상기 제1주사 모드 또는 제2주사모드에서 검출할 수 있으며 자동 심볼 인식 자원에 의해 해독될 수 있는 1개 이상의 서식내에서 부호화되는 정보를 나타내는 제2표시자를 포함하는 문서로부터 정보를 추출하기 위한 장치에 있어서, 상기 제2표시자가 나타날 수 있고 상기 정의가 상기 제2표시자를 위해 부호화의 형태를 명시하는 정보를 포함하는 상기 문서상의, 1개 이상의 관심 영역을 정하기 위한 수단 검출된 표시자의 화소 영상을 발생시키는 스캐너를 사용하여 상기 제2모드에서 상기 문서를 주사하기 위한 수단, 메모리 디바이스내에서 제1화소 영상으로부터 얻어지는 화소 데이타를 기억하기 위한 수단, 상기 문서용으로 정해지는 것들로부터 관심 영역을 선택하고, 상기 선택된 관심 영역내의 상기 제2표식자용으로 명시되는 부호화의 형태에 적합한 자동 심볼 인식 자원으로써 상기 관심 영역의 제1화소 영상을 처리하기 위한 수단, 및 처리수단의 처리에 의해 발생되는 상기 제2표시자를 나타내는 심볼 정보를 통합하는 1개 이상의 출력 기록을 발생시키기 위한 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  11. 제10항에 있어서, 상기 제2모드에서 검출할 수 없는 표시자를 포함하는 문서의 영역을 표시하도록 사용되는 화소 데이타량을 감소시키기 위해 제1화소 영상을 압축하는 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  12. 제10항에 있어서, 관심 영역의 화소 영상을 선택하고 처리하기 위한 수단이 상기 관심 영역이 소정의 상기 제2표시자를 포함하는지의 여부를 결정하기 위한 수단, 및 상기 관심 영역이 상기 제2표시자를 포함하는 경우에만 상기 관심 영역을 위해 화소 영상을 처리하기 위한 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  13. 제12항에 있어서, 상기 제2표시자를 포함하는 각각의 관심 영역의 화소 영상을 편집조정용 가시 디스플레이로 전송시키기 위한 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  14. 제10항에 있어서, 관심 영역을 선택하고 처리하기 위한 수단이 바 코드 판독기, 광학식 표시 판독기, 자형 OCR판독기, 핸드프린트 숫자 데이타 판독기, 및 핸드프린트 영숫자 데이타 판독기를 포함하는 그룹으로부터 선택된 자동 심볼 인식 자원으로써 처리하기 위한 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  15. 제10항에 있어서, 검출된 제1표시자의 제2화소 영상을 발생시키는 스캐너를 사용하여 상기 제1모드에서 상기 제1표시자 만을 포함하는 상기 문서의 복사를 주사하기 위한 수단, 및 컴퓨터 메모리 디바이스내에서 제2화소 영상으로부터의 화소 데이타를 기억하기 위한 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  16. 제11항에 있어서, 제1화소 영상을 얻기 위해 기억된 화소 데이타를 감압시키기 위한 수단, 및 최소한 1개의 상기 관심 영역내의 제1및 제2표시자 모두를 포함하는 단일 합병 화소 영상을 발생시키도록 제1및 제2화소 영상의 화소 대 화소 합병을 수행하기 위한 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 장치.
  17. 예지 인쇄 표시자 및 상기 예비 인쇄 표시자에 응답하는 가변 표시자를 포함하고 상기 제2표시자가 자동 심볼 인식 자원에 의해 해독될 수 있는 1개 이상의 서식 내에서 부호화되는 정보를 나타내는 서식 문서로 부터 정보를 추출하기 위한 방법에 있어서 (a)제2표시자가 나타날 수 있고 정의가 상기 가변 표시자를 위해 부호화의 형태를 명시하는 정보를 포함하는 상기 문서 상의 1개 이상의 관심 영역을 정하는 단계, (b)예비 인쇄 및 가변 표시자 모두의 화소 영상을 발생시키는 스캐너를 사용하여 상기 문서를 주사하는 단계, (c)메모리 디바이스 내에서 단계(b)로 부터 얻어지는 화소 데이타를 기억하는 단계, (d)상기 문서용으로 정해지는 것들로부터 관심 영역을 선택하고, 상기 선택된 관심 영역내의 상기 가변 표시자용으로 명시되는 부호화의 형태에 적합한 작동 심볼 인식 자원으로써 상기 관심영역의 화소 영상을 처리하는 단계, 및 (e)단계 (d)의 처리에 의해 발생되는 상기 제2표시자를 나타내는 심볼 정보를 통합하는 1개 이상의 출력 기록을 발생시키는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
