제1도는 카올리나이트 크레이의 응결작용에 대한 본 발명의 고분자량 폴리(비닐아민) 및 폴리(N-비닐 아세트아미드)와 종래의 중합체의 효과를 도시하는 그래프.
본 발명은 오일회수율향상조성물중 고분자량 폴리(비닐아민)의 사용방법에 관한 것이다.
폴리(N-비닐아미드)와 같은 수용성 중합체는 고성능 용도에 만족할만한 특성을 제공하기 위해 고분자량이어야 하는 경우가 많다. 저분자량 내지 중간분자량의 폴리(N-비닐포름아미드) 및 폴리(N-비닐아세트아미드)는 물과 알코올중에서 유용성 및 수용성 개시제를 사용하는 종래의 용액중합법에 의해 제조하였다. 그러나, 고분자량의 폴리(N-비닐아미드)는 유용한 조건하에서 얻어진 중합체물이 취급이 곤란한 겔이기 때문에 종래의 용액 중합법에 의해 제조하기 곤란하다. 또한, 용액의 점도가 높고 열전이가 불량하기 때문에 이러한 합성방법은 상업적 규모로는 실시 불가능하다.
그럼에도 불구하고, 본 발명자들은 폴리(비닐아미드) 및 폴리(비닐아민)의 성능을 고분자량(>106)의 단일중합체를 제조하여 사용함으로써 향상시킬 수 있다고 믿었다.
미합중국 특허 제4,500,437호에는 실시예 67-70에서 역유화액 중합법에 의해 제조된 N-비닐포름아미드 및 N-비닐아세트아미드를 함유하는 아크릴아미드 공중합체 및 테르폴리머와 더불어 100,000 이하, 즉 <105의 분자량을 가지는 실시예 68 및 70의 중합체가 개시되어 있다. 실시예 20은 용액중합에 의한 폴리(비닐포름아미드)의 제조방법에 대한 것이다.
미합중국 특허 제4,421,602호에는 90 내지 10몰%의 공중합 비닐아민유닛과 10 내지 90몰%의 공중합 N-비닐포름아미드유닛을 함유하는 선형염기성중합체가 개시되어 있다. 이 특허에서는 상기 중합체는 물, 수용성용매 또는 물과 수용성용매와의 혼합물중에서 용액중합법에 의해 제조가능하다고 지적하고 있으며 실제적으로 이러한 용액중합법을 실시예에 또한 상기 중합은 물과의 불혼화성용매중에서 w/o(water-in-oi!) 유화액중합법에 의해 행할 수 있음을 시사하고 있으나, 이러한 중합법에 대한 실시예는 기술되어 있지 않다.
미합중국 특허 제4,018,826호에는 비닐아세트아미드를 자유라디칼중합촉매와 중합하고, 폴리(비닐아세트아미드)를 당해 구기산의 수용액과 접촉시켜서 폴리(비닐아세트아미드)를 소정의 아민염으로 가수분해하는 무기산의 폴리(비닐아민)염의 제조방법이 기술되어 있다. 분자량이 약 3,000 내지 약 700,000인 폴리 (비닐아민)화합물(염 화합물인 경우 4,000 내지 약 1,000,000)이 제안되어 있다.
미합중국 특허 제3,558,581호에는 N-비닐-N-메틸포름아미드의 당해 중합체를 무기산으로 가수분해한 N-비닐-N-메틸아민의 단일중합체 및 공중합체가 개시되어 있다.
미합중국 특허 제3,597,314호에는 산가수분해에 의해 분해된 중합체의 포름산라디칼을 60-100% 포함하는 N-비닐-N-메틸포름아미드로부터 유도된 유닛을 주로 함유하는 수용성 중합체가 개시되어 있다. 역유화액중합법에 대한 언급은 전혀없다.
영국 특허 제2,152,929호는 가스상의 N-(a-알콕시에틸)포름아미드를 열분해하여 N-비닐포름아미드를 제조하는데 사용하기 위한 N-치환포름아미드의 제조방법에 관한 것이다. N-비닐포름아미드는 중합개시제인 아조화합물의 존재하에서 벌크중합하거나, 수용액 또는 유기용액을 사용하여 용액중합하거나, 단독으로 또는 응결제를 제조하는데 적합한 수용성중합체 제조시에 사용되었던 단량체와 함께 유화액 중합할 수 있음이 제안된바 있다. 이렇게 얻어진 폴리(비닐포름아미드)는 산성 또는 염기성 조건하에서 가수분해하여 폴리(비닐아민)의 양이온중합체를 얻을 수 있다.
D.J. Dawson등의 "수용성중합체 염료제조를 위한 폴리(비닐아민염산염)의 제조방법 및 사용방법", (J.Am.Chem. Soc., 98:19, 5996(1976))에는 N-비닐아세트아미드를 제조하고 이것을 용액중에서 중합한 후 폴리(N-비닐아민 염산염)으로 산가수분해하는 방법이 개시되어 있다.
수용성단략체의에 관한 종래의 참고문헌의 예를 들면 미합중국 특허 제2,982,749호, 제3,278,506호, 제3,284,393호, 제3,957,739호, 제3,975,341호, 제4,078,133호 제4,312,969호가 있다.
R.H.Summerville 등의 "N-비닐아세트아미드의 합성 및 그들의 중합체 및 공중합체의 제조방법"(Polym. Reprints, 24, 12(1983))에는 Igepal 계면활성제를 사용하여 물과 시클로헥산중에서 과황산나트륨에 의해 개시되는 N-비닐아세트아미드의 역유화액중합을 시도하였으나 성공하지 못하였다고 기술되어 있다.
미합중국 특허 제4,217,214호에는 약 5×105이상의 분자량을 가지는 폴리비닐아민염산염은 폐수계의 응결제로서 특히 효과적이라는 사실이 밝혀졌음을 시사하고 있다. 그 실시예에는 2×106의 분자량을 가지는 폴리(비닐아민) 염산염의 사용방법이 기술되어 있으며 사용된 폴리(비닐아민) 염산염은 미합중국 특허 제4,018,826호에 개시된 바와같이 제조된다고 기술되어 있다.
미합중국 특허 제4,623,699호에는 구조식-CH2-CH(NH2)-의 유닛을 함유하며 Fikentscher K값이 10 내지 200인 것으로서 사용된 중합체에 대하여 5중량% 이하의 물의 존재하에서 가스상 할로겐화수소에 의해 N-비닐포름아미드 중합체분말로부터 포르밀기를 제거함으로써 제조된 선형염기성중합체분말이 개시되어 있다.
일본국 특허 제61/141712호에는 N-비닐카르복실산아미드의 수용액을 유용성중합체분산안정제를 사용하여 탄화수소계 분산매체에 분산시킨후 라디칼중합하는 공정에 의해 N-비닐카르복실산 아미드중합체의 제조방법이 개시되어 있다.
본 발명에 의하면, 고분자량의 폴리(N-비닐아미드)는 역유화액중합법에 의해 제조할 수 있다. 본 발명은 하기구조식의 N-비닐아미드의 단일중합체를 10-90wt% 함유하는 수용액 10-70wt%와 톨루엔 및 크실렌(R-알킬인 경우에는 크실렌 화합물)으로 구성되어 C5-C10알칸의 탄화수소액중에 콜로이드 분산된 역단일중합체유화액을 제공하는 바, 상기 단일중합체는 평균 분자량이 적어도 106이고 상기 유화액은 점도가 고형물 5%, 60rpm Brookfield(7.9sec-1) 및 20℃의 경우 10csp미만이다.
식중, R 및 R1은 수소 또는 C1-C4알킬기이다.
역, 또는 w/o 유화액의 제조방법에서는 상기 구조식의 수용성 N-비닐아미드를 10-90wt% 함유하는 수용액을 4 내지 9의 HLB값을 가지는 계면활성제를 사용하여 탄화수소액에 콜로이드 분산시킨후, 상기 단량체를 아조계 자유라디칼 개시제를 사용하여 중합하는 바, 탄화수소액에 대한 단량체 함유수용액의 중량비는 1:2 내지 2:1의 범위가 바람직하다.
얻어진 고분자량 중합체유화액은 고형물 15%, 60rpm Brookfield 및 20℃ 내지 2 내지 10cps미만의 저점도를 가지기 때문에, 용액 중합법에 의해 중합체를 제조하는 경우 증가되는 용액점도에 대한 문제점이 해소된다. 또한, 저점도 단일중합체 유화액은 취급이 용이하여 직접 사용할 수 있다.
비닐아미드 단일중합체 유화액은 단일중합체의 산 또는 염기촉매가수분해에 의해 적어도 106의 평균분자량을 가지는 비닐아민 단일중합체의 제조방법에 바람직하게는 유화액상태로 사용된다. 염기가수분해물의 가수분해단계 또는 산성화시에 무기산을 사용함으로써 상기산의 염상태인 폴리(비닐아민)이 얻어진다.
고분자량의 수용성 폴리(N-비닐아미드)와 그 유도폴리(비닐아민)은 수처리, 오일회수율향상 및 제지분야에서 사용된다. 예를 들면, 유도폴리(비닐아민)은 드릴링머드조성물, 시추공세멘트, 낙성액, 및 산성파쇄액 등과 같은 오일분야 화학조성물중의 중요성분으로서 사용할 수 있다. 저농도염용액, 예를 들면 2% KCI용액중 0.5 내지 1%농도의 폴리(비닐아민)의 용액유동성(1 내지 1000sec-1범위의 전단속도에 대한 두께효율과 점도반응)은 오일분햐 화학조성물에서 다수의 용도를 위해 중요한 것이다. 중합체의 분자량이 극히 높으면 점성화도 및 유동성이 매우 우수하다.
오일회수율향상(EOR)에 이용할 경우, 본 발명의 폴리(비닐아민)은 90℃에서의 개량된 점도와 해수중에서의 개량된 점도 보유성을 가지는 조성물을 제공한다. 쉽게 구입할 수 있는 중합체는 상기 두 조건을 만족하지 못한다. 가수분해된 폴리아크릴아미드는 해수중의 칼슘의 존재하에서 상기 중합체가 침전되기 때문에 고온의 해수중에서는 사용할 수 없다. 크산탄중합체는 칼슘 이온에 불감적이다. 그러나, 고온에서는 중합체 체인이 풀려서 점성화 효율을 상실하게 된다.
일반적으로 이러한 EOR 조성물은 약 1000 내지 2000ppm의 폴리(비닐아민)을 함유하는 해수로 구성되며 7.9sec-1(60rpm) 및 90℃에서 10 내지 20cps Brookfield 점도를 가진다. 본 발명에 의한 극히 높은 분자량을 가지는 비닐아민중합체는 고온의 EOR점성화시에 유용한 조건인 고온에서의 개량된 안정성과 칼슘염도를 가지는 것으로 보인다.
산성화된 파쇄액에 사용하는 경우, 본 발명의 폴리(비닐아민)은 70℃의 농염산용액중에서 개량된 점도안정성을 부여한다. 이러한 용도에 많이 사용되는 구입이 용이한 셀룰로오스 중합체는 상기 조건하에서 중합체의 골격이 파괴되므로 만족할 수 없다. 이러한 유체는 약 0.2 내지 2% 폴리(비닐아민)과 5 내지 28%의 염산용액으로 구성되며 300rpm, 510sec-1및 R1B1센서에서 FANN 35점도가 10 내지 100cps이다.
즉 산성수용액에 의해 파쇄산화하는 웰자극법을 제공하는 바, 상기 산성용액을 웰에 주입하여 지층을 파쇄하기에 충분한 압력하에 지층과 접촉시키는 방법이며, 상기 산성용액을 106이상의 분자량을 가지는 비닐아민 단일중합체를 점성화제로서 함유한다.
본 발명의 다른 실시예는 우수한 유동성을 가지는 드릴링머드조성물이다. 이러한 드릴링머드조성물은 수중에 분산된 0.1 내지 1wt%의 폴리(비닐아민), 0 내지 10wt%의 염 및 0.5 내지 5wt%의 크레이로 구성된다.
또한, 본 발명에 의하면, 포화염수용액중의 고점도는 물론 고온점도 안정성을 가지는 낙성액에 제공된다. 일반적인 낙성액은 0.2 내지 2wt%의 폴리(비닐아민)을 함유하는 포화염용액으로 구성된다.
또한, 본 발명은 펄프스톡을 분해하여 본 발명에 의한 펄프스톡 폴리(비닐아민)에 첨가함으로써 비조직시이트를 제조하는 제지 공정에 있어서 잔류성, 배수속도 및 응집성의 증가를 제공한다.
적어도 106, 바람직하게는 3×106내지 15×106의 분자량을 가지는 폴리(N-비닐아미드)는 불활성분위기하에서 하기조성물을 반응시켜서 역유화액중합법에 의해 제조된다 :
1. 수용성 N-비닐아미드 단량체
2. 물
3. 탄화수소액
4. w/o유화제 및
5. 질소함유자유라디칼 개시제
처음 두 성분으로 구성되는 수용액은 10 내지 90wt%, 바람직하게는 50 내지 70wt%의 하기구조식의 수용성 N-비닐아미드를 함유한다.
식중, R과 R1은 수소 또는 C1-C4바람직하게는 C1-C2의 알킬기이며, 메틸기가 가장 바람직하다. 탄화수소액에 대한 단량체 함유수용액의 중량비는 사용된 단량체에 따라 다양하게 변화시킬 수 있으나, 약 1:2 내지 2:1이 바람직하다.
본 발명에 사용하기 적합한 탄화수소액은 물과 비혼화성이며 물의 존재하에서 단량체는 충분히 용해되지 않는다. 이러한 탄화수소액의 예를 들면, 옥탄, 데칸 및 데카히드로나프탈렌(데칼린)등의 아시클릭 및 시클릭 C5-C10알칸, 및 N-비닐아세트아미드의 경우 특정 방향족 탄화수소와 방향족 탄화수소 톨루엔 및 크실렌등이 있다. 단량체구조식중 R이 알킬기인 경우 톨루엔 및 크실렌의 기능적 등가물로서는 에틸렌 벤젠과 테트라히드로 나프탈렌(테트랄린)을 고려할 수 있다. 바람직한 탄화수소액은 C5-C10아시클릭알칸이다.
안정화시스템은 4 내지 9, 바람직하게는 4 내지 7.5의 친수성-친액성바라스(HLB)값을 가지는 적합한 유화제 또는 계면활성제로 구성되며, 소르비탄 모노스테아레이트, 올레이트, 라우레이트 또는 팔미테이트와 같은 소르비탄지방산 에스테르; 폴리옥시에틸렌 소르비탄지방산 에스테르, 즉 전기의 소르비탄지방산에스테르 1몰과 에틸렌 옥사이드 4 내지 40몰과의 반응생성물; 지방산의 폴리옥시에틸렌 소르비톨에스테르; 및 이들의 혼합물이 있다. 계면활성제의 바람직한 분향은 단량체함유수용액에 대하여 5 내지 20wt%이다.
자유라디칼개시제는 2,2'-아조비스(이소부티로니트릴), 2,2'-아조비스(2-아미디노프로판)염산염, 4,4'-아소비스(4'-시아노-펜타논산)등과 같이 중합기술에 공지되어 있는 아조화합물중 한가지이어야 한다. 과황산염과 과산화수소는 본 발명을 실시하는 데 적합하지 못한 것으로 밝혀졌다. 산화환원 촉매시스템은 아조개시제와 일반적인 환원제로 구성되는 것을 사용할 수 있다. 자유라디칼개시제의 분량은 반응온도, 중합속도, 얻고자 하는 중합도에 따라 다양하게 변경가능하나, 단량체 사용량의 0.001 내지 0.5몰%가 바람직하다.
중합반응은 일반적으로 불활성분위기하에서, 바람직하게는 질소하에서 행한다. 반응온도는 40-60℃의 범위가 바람직하다. 고온, 즉>60℃이면 가교결합 또는 체인전이와 같이 중합체에 바람직하지 못한 부반응을 일으킬 수 있다. 저온에서는 장시간 동안 반응시켜야 하므로 실시곤란하다.
단일중합체물은 응집제를 첨가한 후 여과함으로써 유화액으로부터 분리할 수 있다. 이어서, 침전된 생성물을 세정 및 건조한다. 일반적으로, 계면활성제에는 우수한 용매이나 중합체에는 불량한 용매인 극성유기용매, 예를 들면 아세톤을 사용하여 중합체를 응집시킨다. 침전된 중합체를 여과한 후 세정하여 계면활성제를 제거한다. 건조 및 정제된 고분자량의 중합체는 미분 형태로서 수용성이다.
비닐아미드 단일중합체생성물은 산 또는 염기의 존재하에서 적어도 106의 평균분자량을 가지는 비닐아민 단일중합체로 가수분해된다. 1.8×106내지 9×106이상의 분자량을 가지는 비닐아민 단일중합체가 얻어지는 것이 더욱 바람직하다. 오일회수율 향상조성물에 사용하기 적합한 비닐아민중합체는 약 50%이상, 바람직하게는 약 90% 내지 약 99+% 가수분해된 것이다.
가수분해에 적합한 산은 염산, 브롬산, 황산, 인산 및 과염산과 같은 무기산, 및 트리플루오로아세트산 및 메탄설폰산과 같은 유기산이다. 사용가능한 염기에는 수산화나트륨, 수산화칼륨, 수산화칼슘 및 수산화바륨과 같은 알카리 및 알카리토류 수산화물, 테트라메틸수산화암모늄과 같은 4차 암모늄 수산화물이 있다. 산 또는 염기의 필요량은 소정의 가수분해도 및 반응조건에 따라 다양하게 변화시킬 수 있다. 대략, 중합체당량당 1 내지 3당량의 산 또는 염기가 완전한 가수분해를 성취하는데 바람직하다.
가수분해는 각종 용매중에서 행할 수 있으며, 이러한 용매에는 물; 암모니아수; 메탄올, 에탄올, 이소프로판올 및 t-부탄올과 같은 알코올; 메틸아민, 디메틸아민, 에틸아민등과 같은 히드록시아민이 있다. 그러나, 물에 산 또는 염기를 단순첨가하여 w/o 유화액으로 하는 것이 가장 바람직하다.
가수분해온도는 이용된 중합체와 가수분해 종류에 따라 20 내지 200℃ 범위로 할 수 있다. 일반적으로, 가수분해는 폴리(N-비닐아세트아미드)보다는 폴리(N-비닐포름아미드)의 경우에 더욱 신속하게 진행된다. 따라서, 폴리(N-비닐포름아미드)의 가수분해는 온화한 조건, 즉 저온에서 폴리(N-비닐아세트아미드)보다 짧은 반응시간으로 행할 수 있다. 염기가수분해의 바람직한 온도범위는 70 내지 100℃로서, 110 내지 200℃범위의 N-비닐아세트아미드의 산 또는 염기가수분해보다 낮다.
이렇게 얻어진 가수분해중합체물은 염기 가수분해인 경우에는 구조식의 유리아미노함유 반복유닛을 포함하고, 산가수분해인 경우에는 구조식의 아미노 함유유닛을 포함하며, X-는 가수분해시에 사용된 산에 대응하는 음이온을 표시한다.
폴리(비닐아민)은 염형태로 분리하여 대기중의 이산화탄소의 흡착을 방지하는 것이 바람직하다. 중합체염은 가수분해 혼합물을 산성화하여 중합체를 침전시킴으로써 분리된다. 침전된 중합체는 일반적으로 검이지만, 재용해한 후 메탄올로 재결정화하여 섬유성 물질을 얻을 수도 있다.
본 발명의 생성물은 고분자량의 폴리(N-비닐아미드)이며, 특히 3×106내지 15×106몰 wt%의 폴리(N-비닐포름아미드), 및 1.3×106내지 5×106몰 wt%의 폴리(N-비닐아세트아미드), 및 유도폴리(비닐아민) 및 폴리(비닐아민)염이다.
이러한 중합체물질은 중합체의 충분한 숭용성을 유지하는한 25wt%까지의 아크릴아미드 및 N-비닐피롤리돈과 같은 공중합성 단량체를 함유할 수 있으며, 이것은 수처리, 오일회수율 향상 및 제지분야에서 응집제, 잔류제 및 농축제로서 특히 유용하다. 이러한 중합체는 또한 부식억제제, 광사진약품, 계면활성제, 단백질경화제, 이온교환수지로서 사용할 수 있으며, 약제, 음식염료, 제초제 및 살충제 제조시에 성분으로서 사용할 수 있다.
웰시추를 위한 산성파쇄액에 있어서, 상기 조성물은 점성제로서 5 내지 28%염산수용액중의 본 발명에 의한 0.2 내지 2%, 바람직하게는 약 0.5%의 고분자량 폴리(비닐아민)과 경우에 따라서 0.5 내지 1%의 가교결합제를 포함하며, 상기%는 폴리(비닐아민)에 대한 중량%이다. 적합한 가교결합제에는 유기 티타네이트착물, 에피클로로히드린, 헥사메틸렌 디이소시아네이트, 글리옥살, 부틸렌디올 디아크릴레이트, 테레프탈알데히드 및 글루타르알데히드가 있으며, 후자의 두 물질은 저 pH인 것이 바람직하다. 파쇄액조성물은 300rpm, 510sec-1및 R1B1센서에서 10 내지 100cps 의 FANN 35점도를 가져야 한다.
이러한 산성파쇄액은 가압하에 웰내로 주사되어 지층과 접촉한다. 압력은 지층을 파쇄하는 데 충분하여야 한다.
[실시예 1]
본 실시예에는 역유화액중합에 의해 극히 높은 분자량의 폴리(N-비닐포름아미드)를 제조하는 방법을 예시하는 것이다.
소르비탄 모노스테아레이트(SPAN 60 계면활성제, HLB 4.7, 2.5g)을 옥탄(90g)에 용해하고, 얻어진 용액을 반응용기로 옮겼다. 반응기를 질소로 정화한 후, 중합중에 질소분위기로 유지하였다. N-비닐포름아미드용액(물 30g중의 15g)을 탈기한 후 강교반하에 2.5ml/min의 속도로 반응기에 첨가하였다(N-비닐포름아미드는 사용하기전에 70℃, 1torr로 진공증류하여 정제하였다). 반응혼합물을 50℃로 가열하면서, 2,2'-아조비스(2,4-디메틸펜타니트릴)(Vazo 52개시제, 0.05g)을 장입하였다. 50℃에서 3시간동안 강교반한후, 3cps의 점도를 가지는 안정한 중합체 유화액이 얻어졌다. 아세톤을 첨가하여 유화액을 파괴시킴으로써 고형중합체 물을 회수하였다. 분리된 N-비닐포름아미드 단일중합체는 광산란에 의해 측정하였을 때 6.7×106의 분자량을 가지며 5% 수용액 상태에서 점도가 21,000cps이었다.
[실시예 2]
실시예 1의 비닐포름아미드(10g)을 물(990g)에 용해한 후, 50% 수산화나트륨(11.3g)과 혼합하였다. 얻어진 혼합물을 질소분위기하의 80℃에서 8시간동안 가열하였다. 중합체가 침전될 때까지 반응혼합물에 농염산을 첨가하였다. 산용액을 경사분리하였다. 침전 중합체를 물에 재용해한후 메탄올로 재결정화하였다. 비닐아민 단일중합체 염산부가염은 1% 수용액 상태에서 점도가 400cps이었다.
[실시예 3]
본 실시예는 역유화액중합법에 의한 극히 높은 분자량의 폴리(N-비닐아세트아미드)의 제조방법을 예시하는 것이다.
미합중국 특허 제4,018,826호에 기술되어 있는 방법에 의거하여 N-비닐아세트아미드를 제조하였다. N-비닐아세트아미드를 하기와 같이 정제하였다 : 미정제 N-비닐아세트아미드(1kg)을 70-74℃, 1torr에서 플래시 증류하였다. 대략 2/3의 물질을 증류하여 70:30의 N-비닐아세트아미드/아세트아미드 혼합물을 얻었다. 이 혼합물(100g)과 톨루엔(600g)을 1000ml들이 비이커에 넣고, 얻어진 혼합물을 잘 교반하였다. 황색의 톨루엔용액을 불용성고형물로부터 경사분리하여 새로운 톨루엔 50g으로 2회 세척하였다. 톨루엔용액을 혼합한후 염수 25g으로 세척하였다. 황색의 염수액은 폐기하였다. 이어서 톨루엔용액을 물 130ml로 4회 추출하였다. 상기 수용액을 염화메틸렌 25ml로 역추출하였다. 염화메틸렌 용액은 폐기하였다. 상기 수용액을 염화나트륨으로 포화시킨후 염화메틸렌 330ml로 4회 추출하였다. 감압하에서 염화메틸렌을 제거한후, 순수한 -비틸아세트아미드(60%회수) 42g을 얻었다.
N-비닐아세트아미드(15g), 물(45g), 크실렌(90g), 및 SPAN 60 계면활성제(4g)의 혼합물을 개시제로서 2,2'-아조비스(2-메틸프로피오니트릴) AIBN(0.08g)을 사용하여 실시예1에서 설명한 것과 동일한 방식으로 중합하였다. 아세톤을 첨가하여 N-비닐아세트아미드 단일중합체를 침전시켰으며, 겔침투크로마토그래피에 의해 측정한 결과 분자량이 1.5×106이었다.
[실시예 4]
실시예 3의 N-비닐아세트아미드 단일중합체(10g)를 물에 용해하여 농염산(2몰당량)과 혼합하였다. 얻어진 혼합물을 48시간 동안 약 110℃로 환류가열하였다. 중합체가 침전될 때까지 반응혼합물에 농염산을 첨가하였다. 산용액은 경사분리하였다. 침전된 중합체를 물에 재용해한 후 메탄올로 재침전시켜서 1%수용액상태로 324cps의 점도를 가지는 생성물 8.8g을 얻었다.
[실시예 5-9]
실시예 1에서 설명한 것과 동일한 방법으로 N-비닐포름아미드(NVF)를 중합하였다. 중합처리법과 얻어진 유화액에 대한 데이터를 각각 표 1 및 2에 도시한다.

[실시예 10]
본 실시예에 있어서, 실시예1에 의한 N-비닐포름아미드의 역유화액중합은 탄화수소액상의 톨루엔, 크실렌 및 케로센을 사용하여 행하였다. 각 경우에, 고분자량의 N-비닐포름아미드 중합체가 얻어졌으나, 유화액은 안정하지 못하여 파괴되었다.
[실시예 11]
본 실시예는 아조계 개시제의 사용필요성을 예시하는 것이다. 개시제로서 과황산나트륨 또는 과황산암모늄을 사용하여 실시예1의 공정에 따라 행한 결과 중합체를 얻지 못하여 실패하였다. 이러한 실패는 단량체와 과황산염간에 일어나는 산화 환원반응에 의한 것으로 추정된다.
[실시예 12]
본 실시예에서 폴리(N-비닐포름아미드)는 미합중국 특허 제4,421,602호의 실시예12의 용액중합공정에 따라 제조하였다. 분리된 중합체는 수성가스상 크로마토그래피(GPC)에 의해 1.4×105의 분자량을 가지는 것으로 밝혀졌다.
[실시예 13]
미합중국 특허 제4,500,437호의 실시예 69의 공정에 따라 폴리(N-비닐포름아미드) 유화액을 제조하였다. 얻어진 중합체 유화액은 페이스트상이었으며 불안정하였다. 분리된 폴리(N-비닐포름아미드)는 수성GPC에 의해 측정한 결과 분자량이 5.1×105이었다.
[실시예 14]
미합중국 특허 제4,500,437호의 실시예20의 공정에 따라 N-비닐포름아미드이 중합을 행하였다. 생성물은 5×103미만의 분자량을 가지는 점성액체이었다.
[실시예 15]
카올리이나이트 크레이의 응집에 대한 본 발명의 폴리(비닐아민), 폴리(비닐아민염산부가염) 및 폴리(N-비닐아세트아미드)의 효과를 시험하여 시판중합체, 즉 폴리아크릴아미드, 폴리아크릴산 및 Guar검과 비교하였다. 0.01%중합체 용액(12.5ml)를 25ml들이 마개가 있는 눈금실린더내의 동부피의 스톡카올리나이트크레이 슬러리(2% KCI 수용액 200ml중의 5.5g)에 첨가하였다. 실린더를 5회 거꾸로 하였다. 3, 6, 9, 15, 30, 45 및 60분후에 크레이농도를 측정하였다. 결과는 제3표에 도시한다. 고분자량의 폴리(비닐아민)은 탁월한 응집성을 가짐을 알 수 있다. 침강속도 및 플록의 콤팩트성은 수처리 분야에서 주목할 만한 것이다.
[실시예 16]
본 실시예는 오일회수율향상 분야에서 본 발명의 폴리(비닐아민)의 용도를 예시하는 것이다. 2종의 비닐아민 단일중합체와 2종의 시판중합체, 즉 크산탄과 가수분해 폴리아크릴아미드를 7.9sec-1의 저전단 Brookfield점도를 이용하여 합성 해수중의 1500ppm에서 평가하였다.

표 3으로부터 약 7×106분자량의 비닐아민 단일중합체는 시판중합체는 물론 저분자량 폴리(비닐아민)을 능가함을 알 수 있다. 비닐아민 단일중합체는 다른 중합체에 비해 고온(90℃)에서의 점도안정성이 개량되었음을 알 수 있다.
[실시예 17]
본 실시예에서는 고분자량 및 저분자량의 비닐아민(VAm) 단일중합체를 파쇄산성조성물에 사용하기 위한 Guar와 비교하였다. 중합체 농도는 0.5%이었고, 점도는 FANN 35 점도계, R1B1센서를 사용하여 510sec-1에서 측정하였다.

7×106의 분자량을 가지는 비닐아민 단일중합체는 저분자량 단일중합체에 비해 높은 점도를 발휘하였으며 고온에서 시판대조물, 즉 Guar를 능가하였다.
[실시예 18]
본 실시예에서는 본 발명의 비닐아민 단일중합체를 함유하는 드릴링머드의 향상된 특성을 예시하는 것이다. 일반적인 드릴링머드 제제는 다음과 같이 제조할 수 있다 :
크레이분산액 A:
11.1g 아콰겔 골드시일 벤토나이트 크레이
8g 염화칼륨
400g 물
크레이는 하룻밤동안 수화물에 분산시킨다.
중합체용액 B:
중합체 2g을 물 400g에 용해하고, 2 내지 4시간동안 혼합하고 pH를 6으로 조절하였다.
분산액 A(200g)을 중합체 용액 B(200g)에 첨가한 후 4시간동안 혼합하였다. 표준 API공정을 이용하여 300 및 600rpm에서 FANN-35점도계를 사용하여 유동성을 측정하였다.

표 5로부터 고분자량의 비닐아민 단일중합체는 실온에서 최우수 특성을 발휘함을 알 수 있다.
[실시예 19]
고분자량의 비닐아민 단일중합체는 포화 염수액중에서 상당히 높은 점도를 가진다. 이러한 성질은 유정에 사용되는 낙성액에 있어서 중요한 것이다.
100g의 포화염용액에 중합체 1g을 혼합하여 포화염용액을 제조한 후 점도를 측정하였다.

[실시예 20]
본 실시예는 제지분야에서 건조강도 첨가제로서 비닐아민 단일중합체의 사용방법을 예시하는 것이다.
균일한 크기의 종이 크로마토그래피 등급의 원료를 물에 함침시킨후, 압축로울을 통해 계량하여 평량하였다. 수분픽업률을 계산하여 각 시트에 대해서 동일하게 측정되었다. 시이트중량당 0.5%중합체 픽업률(건조/건조)을 부여하기 위해 단위 수분부피당 필요한 중합체 중량을 측정하였다.
저분자량(80M)의 비닐아민 단일중합체와 폴리비닐 알코올은 0.75%를 사용하였다. 극히 높은 3200cps의 점도를 가지는 고분자량(7MM)의 비닐아민 단일중합체는 0.188%로 희석하였으며 다른 것들의 첨가농도는 0.125%인 것으로 가정하였다. 중합체는 시이트포화전에 pH 4.5로 조절하였다.

극히 높은 분자량의 비닐아민 단일중합체는 제지분야에서 저분자량의 비닐아민단일중합체에 비해 1/4의 분량만으로 효과적인 건조강도 첨가제임을 알 수 있다.
[실시예 21]
본 실시예는 제지분야에서 비닐아민 단일중합체의 잔류 특성을 예시하는 것이다.
시이트 제조를 행하기 직전에, 연목 및 견목의 표백크라프트 펄프를 각각 탈이온화수에 1.5%의 농도로 현탁하였다. 이어서 펄프를 1:1중량비로 혼합하여 30g(오븐내에서의 건조중량)에 해당하는 분량을 각 세트의 핸드 시이트 제조시에 사용하였다. 섬유중량에 대하여 10%의 아나타제 TiO2를 첨가한 후 5분동안 교반하였다(TiO2는 탈이온수에 10% 고형물을 미리 분산시켰다). 2.5g의 핸드시이트를 제조하는데 충분한 펄프를 분리해내어 중합체로 처리한 후 30초동안 중간 점도로 교반하였다. 이어서 처리된 섬유 현탁액을 0.04%의 농도롤 만들기에 충분한 탈이온수를 함유하는 Noble 및 Wood 시이트 주형기에 첨가하였다. 섬유현탁액으로 제조한 핸드시이트를 블로터스톡간에서 50psig로 5분동안 가압한 후 한 블로터와 접촉시켜서 220°F(104.4℃)에서 7분동안 건조시켰다.
상기의 공정에 이어서 중합체를 0.5% 농도의 섬유 현탁액에 섬유에 대하여 0, 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2 및 1%의 첨가 농도롤 첨가하였다. pH는 5로 유지하였다. 전술한 바와같이 제조한 핸드시이트는 50% RH 및 73°F(22.8℃)에서 콘디셔닝한 후 TAPPI표준법을 이용하여 충진제 잔류율을 시험하였다.

7MM 분자량의 폴리(비닐아민)은 목재 펄프에 대한 첨가 농도가 0.1-0.2%인 경우에 탁월한 TiO2잔류성을 발휘함을 알 수 있다.
본 발명은 역유화액중합에 의한 극히 높은 분자량의 폴리(N-비닐아미드)와 수처리, 오일회수율 향상 및 제지분야에서 사용할 수 있는 유도폴리(비닐아민)을 제공한다.
Claims (10)
- 적어도 106의 평균분자량을 가지며 50% 이상이 가수분해된 폴리(비닐아민) 0.2 내지 2중량%를 함유하는 5 내지 28%의 염산수용액으로 주로 구성되며, 300rpm, 510sec-1및 R1B1센서에서 10 내지 100cps의 FANN35점도를 가지는 산성파쇄액.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 폴리(비닐아민)이 1.8-9×106의 평균분자량을 가지는 산성파쇄액.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 폴리(비닐아민)이 약 90%이상 가수분해된 산성파쇄액.
- 제1항에 있어서, 폴리(비닐아민)에 대하여 0.5 내지 1중량%의 가교결합제를 부가로 함유하는 산성파쇄액.
- 제1항에 있어서, 평균분자량이 7×106인 폴리(비닐아민)을 0.5중량% 함유하는 산성파쇄액.
- 염산수용액과 점성제를 포함하는 산성파쇄액에 있어서, 점성제로서 적어도 106이상의 평균분자량을 가지며 약 90% 이상이 가수분해된 폴리(비닐아민) 0.2 내지 2중량%를 포함하는 산성파쇄액.
- 제6항에 있어서, 상기 폴리(비닐아민)이 1.8-9×106의 평균분자량을 가지는 산성파쇄액.
- 제7항에 있어서, 폴리(비닐아민)에 대하여 0.5 내지 1중량%의 가교결합제를 부가로 함유하는 산성파쇄액.
- 제8항에 있어서, 평균분자량이 7×106인 폴리(비닐아민)을 0.5중량% 함유하는 산성파쇄액.
- 제7항에 있어서, 폴리(비닐아민)이 약 99% 이상 가수분해된 산성파쇄액.
