Claims (3)

  1. 2진 마르코프 정보원의 부호화에 있어서 정보원의 출력 심볼계열을 수의 직선상의 어느 범위에 대응시키고, 그 수의 직선상의 위치 정보를 2진수로 표현한 값을 사용해서 송신하는 것에 의해 부호화 압축을 실현하는 부호화 방식에 있어서, 각 마르코프 상태마다 열세 심볼(나타내는 빈도가 보다 낮은 심볼)의 값을 기억하는 수단, 각 상태의 열세 심볼이 나타나는 확률 또는 그것에 대응하는 지표를 일정한 정밀도로 기억하는 수단, 수의 직선상에서의 유효범위가 수의 직선 범위의 1/2 이하로 될때에 상기 유효범위를 포함하는 수의 직선상의 범위를 2의 누승배로 확대해서 연산하는 것에 의해 항상 등가적으로 필요한 연산의 정밀도를 유지하는 정규화 처리를 실행하는 수단을 포함하며, 열세 심볼에는 통상 그 나타나는 확률에 따라 일정범위 S를 부여하고, 우세 심볼(나타나는 빈도가 높은쪽의 심볼)에는 그 남는 범위를 부여하지만, 우세 심볼에 부여되는 범위가 정규화 수의 직선상에서 0.5를 하회하는 경우에는 우세 심볼의 할당 범위가 0.5를 하회하는 만큼에 대해서 그 1/2을 열세 심볼의 범위에서 우세 심볼의 범위로 이동하는 것을 특징으로 하는 부호화 방식.
  2. 특허청구의 범위 제1항에 있어서, 열세 심볼에 부여하는 일정범위 S를 1/2누승배로 제한한 것의 세트로 선택하는 것을 특징으로 하는 부호화 방식.
  3. 특허청구의 범위 제1항에 있어서, 정규화후의 유효범위가 1/2이상 1 이하로 되므로 1을 만족하지 않는 부분을 오프세트로 하고, 하한에서 오프세트를 뺀 베이스 위치를 연산하여 정규화전에 베이스 위치를 부호화하고, 정규화후의 오프세트 정보를 연산하는 것을 특징으로 하는 부호화 방식.
