제3도는 액티브 매트릭스 형인 액정표시 장치에 마이크로렌즈어레이가 장착된 상태를 도시하는 사시도면.

Claims (7)

  1. 비발광형인 표시부에 광원(5)에서의 빛을 투영하고 상기 표시부의 화상을 소정의 투영면(6)에 투영하는 투영헝 화상 표시 장치에 있어서, 상기 표시부는, 매트릭스상으로 복수의 화소가 서로 소정의 제1간격을 사이에 두어 배치된 표시 패널(1)과, 상기 표시 패널(1)의 상기 광원측에 설치되며, 상기 표시 패널(1)상의 복수의 화소에 대응한 위치에 소정의 제2간격을 사이에 두어 배치된 복수의 마이크로렌즈를 포함하는제1마이크로렌즈어레이(2a)를 구비하며, 상기 제1간격과 제2간격이 다르게 선정된 것을 특징으로 하는 투영형 화상 표시장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 표시 패널(1)의 상기 투영면(6)측에 설치되고, 상기 표시 패널(1)상의 복수의 화소에 대응한 위치에 배치된 복수의 마이크로렌즈를 포함하는 제2마이크로렌즈어레이(2b)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 투영형 화상 표시장치.
  3. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 투영형 화상 표시 장치가 상기 광원(5)과 상기 표시부(1) 사이에 설치되어 상기 광원(5)부터의 빛을 상기 투영면측에 집중하기 위한 집속 렌즈(4)를 포함하여, 상기 제1간격이 상기 제2간격보다 크게 되도록 설정된 것을 특징으로 하는 투영형 화상 표시창치.
  4. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 제2마이크로렌즈어레이(2b)의 상기 복수의 마이크로렌즈가 소정의 제3간격을 사이에 두고 배치되며, 상기 제3간격이 상기 제1간격보다 좁게 선정된 것을 특징으로 하는 투영형 화상 표시장치.
  5. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 복수의 화소는 상기 표시 패널(1)상의 제1평면상에 배치되며, 상기 제1마이크로렌즈어레이(2a)상의 복수의 마이크로렌즈는 제 2 평면상에 설치되며, 상기 제 2 마이크로렌즈어레이(2b)의 상기 복수의 마이크로렌즈는 제3평면상에 설치되며, 상기 제1평면과 상기 제1또는 제2평면사이의 거리를 t로 하고, 상기 표시 패널(1)의 기판의 굴절율을 n로 하고, 상기 표시 패널(1)과 상기 투영 렌즈(4)와의 거리를 L로 하고, 상기 제1간격을 Po로했을때, 상기 제1, 제2마이크로렌즈어레이(2a, 2b)의 피치 P1, 및 P2
    를 만족시키도록 선정된 것을 특징으로 하는 투영형 화상 표시장치.
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 복수의 화소는 제1방향과, 상기 제1방향과 교차하는 제2방향이 형성되며, 상기 제1및 제2마이크로렌즈어레이(2a, 2b)의 상기 복수의 마이크로렌즈는 상기 제1방향 및 상기 제2방향으로 제공되며, 상기 제2방향으로 형성된 상기 복수의 마이크로렌즈가 일체화되며, 상기 제1 및 제2마이크로렌즈어레이(2a, 2b)는 상기 제1방향으로 상기 소정의 제2간격을 사이에 두고 형성된 원통 렌즈를포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 투영형 화상 표시장치.
  7. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 원통 렌즈는 반원통형인 것을 특징으로 하는 투영형 화상 표시장치.
