Claims (9)

  1. 약 1마이크론 이하의 최대 크기를 갖는, 모든 방향에서 거의 같은 크기를 갖는(equiaxed)알파 알루미나 또는 알루미나 스피넬(spinel)미정질을 주로 포함하는 알루미나 그릿과 초연마제(superabrasive)그릿 모두가 두구내에 존재하는 것을 개선점으로 하는, 별개의, 크기 등급화된 연마제 그릿과는 화학적으로 다른 결합 물질의 매트릭스 내에 고정된 상기 연마제 그릿을 일반적으로 포함하는 결합된 연마제 도구.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 미정질이 0.7마이크론 이하의 최대 크기를 갖는 결합된 연마제 도구.
  3. 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 미정질이 0.3마이크론 이하의 최대 크기를 갖는 결합된 연마제 도구.
  4. 제 1 항내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 알루미나 그릿이 비 -기포질(non-cellular)인 결합된 연마제 도구.
  5. 제 4 항내지 제 6 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 알루미나 그릿이 최소한 18기가 파스칼의 경도를 갖는 결합된 연마제 도구.
  6. 제 1 항내지 제 5 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 결합 물질이 근본적으로 금속 산화물을 포함하는 유리인 결합된 연마제 도구.
  7. 제 1 항내지 제 6 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 초연마제의 부피가 도구의 전체 부피의 9% 이하인 결합된 연마제 도구.
  8. 제 1 항내지 제 5 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 결합 물질이 페놀수지의 경화 생성물이고 상기 알루미나 그릿이 도구내로 결합되기 전에 니켈로 피복된 결합된 연마제 도구.
  9. 제 1 항내지 제8항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 일루미나 크릿이, (a) 가열시 결정질 알파 알루미나로은 수화된 알루미나의 전환을 용이하게하기에 효과적인 서브마이크론 결정질 시이드(seed)입자와 수화된 알루ㅁ1와의 콜 또는 겔을 혼찹하는 착계 ; (b) 탁계 (a)어서 칠 싱된 혼합물을 건조시기는 단계 ; (c) 1500℃이하에서, 이들의 알루미나 함유물을 알파 알루미나 또는 알루미늄 스피넬로 전환시키기에 충분한 시간 동안 단계(b)에서 형성된 건조된 혼합물을 가열하는 단계 ; 및 (d) 단계(c)의 생성물로부터 적당한 크기로 등급화된 연마제 그릿을 선택하는 단계를 포함하는 방법에 의해 제조되는 결합된 연마제 도구.
