제1도는 Al 도우프된 실리카와 P 도우프된 실리카의 굴절율과, (Al,P)도우프된 실리카의 굴절율에 따른 일차적 데이타를 모두다 도판트 농도의 함수로서 도시하는 도면.
제2도와 제3도는 각기 본 발명의 예시적인 모재의 관련 부분의 굴절율 프로우파일(profile)과, 그 모재로부터 인발된 광 섬유의 굴절율 프로우파일을 도시하는 도면.
제4도는 Al/P 비율의 함수로서 굴절율에 따른 일차적 데이타를 나타내는 도면.

Claims (7)

  1. Al과 P로 공통 도우프되어, 그 공통 도우프된 유리의 Al 대 Si의 원자 비율이 약 0.02보다 더 큰 실리카 기저유리를 포함하는 물품에 있어서 ; Al 대 P의 비율은 공통 도우프된 유리의 굴절율이 순수 용융된 실리카의 굴절율 no를 기껏해야 약 0.001만큼 초과하도록 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 실리카 기저유리를 포함하는 물품.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 물품은 광 섬유 또는 광 섬유 모재이며, 상기 광 섬유와 상기 광 섬유 모재는 코어와 상기 코어를 둘러싸는 클래딩을 포함하며, 상기 클래딩은 상기 공통 도우프된 유리를 포함하는 상기 물품.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 광 섬유는 상기 공통 도우프된 유리를 포함하는 적어도 하나의 응력 발생 영역을 포함하는 편광 유지 광 섬유인 상기 물품.
  4. 제3항의 편광 유지 광 섬유에 있어서, 상기 공통 도우프된 유리의 굴절율은 no보다 적거나 또는 같은 상기 물품.
  5. 제1항 내지 4항중의 어느 항에 있어서, 상기 공통 도우프된 유리는 대략 같은 몰량의 Al과 P를 포함하는 상기 물품.
  6. 제1항 내지 5항중의 어느 항에 있어서, 상기 공통 도우프된 유리는 Al 함유 전구체 가스와, P함유 전구체 가스와, Si 함유 전구체 가스를 반응 구역내로 주입시키고 ; 상기 전구체 가스들은 산소와 반응시키며 ; (Al,P) 도우프된 실리카 기저 반응 생성물을 기면상에 침착 시키는 것을 포함하는 방법에 의해 생성되는 상기 물품.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 물품은 기면상에 침착된 평평한 광 도파관을 포함하며, 상기 도파관은 상기 공통 도우프된 유리를 포함하는 상기 물품.
