Claims (19)

  1. 열분해 화합물의 분압을 실질적으로 저하시키는데 효과적인 양의 증기의 존재하에 열분해를 수행함을 특징으로 하여, 할로메틸, 하이드록시메틸, 아세톡시메틸 또는 트리플루오로 아세톡시메틸중의 하나, 및 메틸 또는-탄소상에 하나 이상의 수소를 갖는, 오르토 위치에서 치환된 메틸중의 하나에 의해 치환된 벤젠 또는 나프탈렌을 열분해시킴으로써 사이클로부타렌을 제조하는 방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 할로메틸이 클로로메틸인 방법.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 치환된 메틸이 저급 알킬 또는 할로메틸인 방법.
  4. 제3항에 있어서, 할로메틸인 클로로메틸인 방법.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 열분해 화합물이 방향족 환을 열분해조건에 안정한 하나 이상의 치환체에 의해 추가로 치환시키는 방법.
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 안정한 그룹이 메틸, 메톡시, 메톡시카보닐, 니트로, 클로로, 브로모 또는 요오도인 방법.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 제조된 사이클로부타렌이 벤조사이클로부텐이고 열분해 화합물은-클로로-오르토-크실렌인 방법.
  8. 제1항에 있어서,-클로로-오르토-크실렌을, 오르토-크실렌을 동일반응계에 염소와 반응시킴으로써 제조하는 방법.
  9. 제1항에 있어서, 증기:열분해 화합물의 몰비가 약 5:1 내지 약 100:1인 방법.
  10. 제9항에 있어서, 증기:열분해 화합물의 몰비가 약 10:1 내지 약 40:1인 방법.
  11. 제1항에 있어서, 반응온도가 약 400 내지 약 800℃인 방법.
  12. 제11항에 있어서, 반응온도가 약 500 내지 약 700℃인 방법.
  13. 제1항에 있어서, 반응총압이 약 0.1 내지 실질적으로 대기압인 방법.
  14. 제13항에 있어서, 반응총압이 실질적으로 대기압인 방법.
  15. 제1항에 있어서, 열분해를 길이:직경의 비가 10:1이상인 관상 반응기에서 행하는 방법.
  16. 제15항에 있어서, 열분해 화합물을 증발시키고 증기와 혼합한 다음, 반응기에 도입시키는 방법.
  17. 제15항에 있어서, 반응기를 유동상(fluidezed bed) 미세분말중에서 가열하는 방법.
  18. 제15항에 있어서, 열분해 화합물을 증발시키고 예열기중에서 증기를 사용하여 반응온도 부근으로 예열시킨 다음, 반응기에 도입시키는 방법.
  19. 제1항에 있어서, 제조된 사이클로부타렌의 수율이 20% 이상인 방법.
