Claims (10)
- 피복물에 둘러싸여진 중심 코어를 각각 갖고 있고 코어 및 피복물이 특성 굴절율을 갖고 있는 한 쌍의 광학 섬유들 사이에 광파를 결합시키기 위한 광학 섬유 결합기에 있어서, 피복물의 최소한 일부분을 제거함으로써 제1광학 섬유상에 형성된 제1평면, 피복물의 최소한 일부분을 제거함으로써 제2광학 섬유 상에 형성된 제2평면, 및 제1과 제2평면 사이에 형성된 간섭성 분자 결합부로 구성되고, 제1및 제2평면이 광선이 광학 섬유들 사이로 전달되는 상호작용 영역을 형성하기 위해 나란히 놓여지는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 섬유 결합기.
- 제1항에 있어서, 간섭성 분자 결합부가 특성 코어 및 피복물 굴절률을 상호작용 영역에서 일정하게 유지시키면서 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 섬유 결합기.
- 제1항에 있어서, 간섭성 분자 결합부가 광학적으로 평평하게 되도록 제1및 제2평면을 랩시키고 제어된 에너지량을 인가시킴으로써 평면들을 서로 결합시킴으로써 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 섬유 결합기.
- 제3항에 있어서, 평면들이 서로 결합될 때 제1과 제2평면 사이에 입력을 인가시키기 위해 압축력이 제1및 제2광학 섬유에인가 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 섬유 결합기.
- 피복물로 둘러싸여진 중심 코어를 각각 갖고 있고 코어 및 피복물이 특성 굴절율을 갖고 있는 한 쌍의 광학 섬유들 사이에 광파를 결합시키기 위한 광학 섬유 결합기를 형성하기 위한 방법에 있어서, 피복물의 최소한 일부분을 제거함으로써 제1광학 섬유 상에 형성된 제1평면을 형성하는 수단, 피복물의 최소한 일부분을 제거함으로써 제2광학 섬유 상에 형성된 제2평면을 형성하는 수단, 제1과 제2평면 사이에 형성된 간섭성분자 결합부를 형성하는 수단을 포함하고, 제1 및 제2평면이 광선이 광학 섬유들 사이로 전달되는 상호 작용 영역을 형성하기 위해 나란히 놓여지는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제5항에 있어서, 간섭성 분자 결합부를 형성하는 수단이 선정된 결합 효율을 제공하기 위해 서로에 관련하여 평면들을 정렬시키는 수단 및 평면들을 서로 결합시키도록 에너지를 평면에 인가시키는 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제6항에 있어서, 평면을 정렬시키는 수단이 상호작용 영역의 한 측 상의 광학 섬유들 중 한 광학 섬유의 한 단부내로 광학 비임을 유입시키는 수단 및 상호작용 영역의 다른 측상의 광학 섬유들 중 최소한 광학 섬유의 한 단부로부터 출력된 광학 에너지를 모니터하는 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제6항에 있어서, 에너지를 평면에 인가시키는 수단이 평면상에 간섭성 광선 비임을 집속시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제6항에 있어서, 간섭성 분자 결합부를 형성하는 수단이 광학 섬유의 용융 온도이하의 전이 온도로 광학 섬유를 가열시키는 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제9항에 있어서, 평면들이 서로 결합될 때 제1과 제2평면 사이에 압력을 인가시키기 위해 압축력을 제1 및 제2광학 섬유에 인가시키는 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.※ 참고사항 : 최초출원 내용에 의하여 공개하는 것임.
