Claims (6)
- 스메틱 위상을 나타내는 액정층과 데이타를 나타내는 전기 신호의 영향을 받은 상태에서 상기층의 광학 특성을 수정하기 위한 장치로 구성된 데이타 표시 소자에 있어서, 상기 층은 전극들사이에 배치되고, 제1 전극은 제1 연속 지역과 평행 톱니형 부분으로 형성된 제2 지역으로 구성되며, 다른 전극들은 상기 제2 지역에 직면한 연속전극과 상기 제2지역에 직면하고 상기 톱니형 부분을 차단시키는 도전성 스트립 회로로 구성되고, 상기 액정층과 상기 전극들에 의해 형성된 조립체는 최소한 한개가 투명한 2개의 판사이에 고정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타 표시 소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 전극들이 상기 광학 특성을 제어하기 위해 가열 및 냉각 주기에서 상호동작하는 전압을 받게 되고, 가열은 상기 톱니형 부분에 접속된 전기 가열 장치와 상기 연속 지역의 연장부내로 상기 전극들중의한 전극을 주사시키는 광학 가열 장치에 의해 생기는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타 표시 소자.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 최소한 한개의 전극이 투명한 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타 표시 소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 장치가 상기층의 분자들이 서로 다르게 배향되도록 상기층과 접촉하여 표면을 처리하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타 표시 소자.
- 제1항에 있어서, 다중층 처리가 한 투명판의 인덱스를 이 판을 지지하는 전극의 인덱스와 정합되게 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타 표시 소자.
