Abstract
본 발명은 디젤 엔진 및 디젤 엔진을 작동시키기 위한 방법에 관한 것이다. 디젤 엔진은 배기 가스 라인 내 디젤 미립자 필터를 포함한다. 디젤 미립자 필터에서 CRT 효과에 의해 감소된 입자량을 결정하기 위하여, NO 센서 및/또는 NOx 센서가 디젤 미립자 필터의 상류에서 그리고 하류에서, 배기 가스 라인에 배열된다. 상기 방법에서, 대응하는 NO 및/또는 NO2 농도는 디젤 미립자 필터의 상류에서 그리고 하류에서 측정된다.
Description
본 발명은 배기 가스 라인을 가진 디젤 엔진 및 배기 가스 라인에 배열된 디젤 미립자 필터에 관한 것이다.
디젤 매연 입자 필터(diesel soot particle filter: DRPF), 매연 입자 필터(soot particle filter: RPF) 또는 미립자 필터로서 또한 알려진, 디젤 미립자 필터(diesel particulate filter: DPF)는 배기 가스에 존재하는 입자를 감소시키기 위한 디바이스이다. 이러한 디젤 미립자 필터의 기능이 잘 알려져 있다.
이러한 필터는 특정한 간격으로 재생되어야 한다. 다양한 재생 과정이 이를 위해 알려져 있다. 하나의 과정은 촉매 반응으로 지지된 재생이다. 여기서, 필터는 산화 촉매와 유사하게 촉매 반응으로 코팅된다. 충분히 높은 온도 및 NO2 농도의 수동 재생에서, CO2 및 일산화질소(NO)로의 매연의 영구적인 전환이 발생한다. 이 절차는 350 내지 500℃ 범위의 온도에서 발생하고 "연속 재생 트랩"(Continuous Regeneration Trap: CRT)의 원리를 따르는 별개의 측정 없이 진행된다. 이를 위해서, 상류의 산화 촉매 또는 촉매 반응 능동 필터 코팅은 잔여 산소(O2)와 함께 배기 가스에 존재하는 일산화질소(NO)를 이산화질소(NO2)로 변환한다. 이어서 이 이산화질소는 미립자 필터에 수집되는 매연의 이산화탄소(CO2) 및 일산화질소(NO)로의 연속적인 연소를 허용한다.
따라서, 이 재생 과정에서, 이산화질소(NO2)는 심지어 낮은 미립자 필터 온도에서(CRT 효과를 통해) 디젤 미립자 필터에서 연속적인 매연 입자 재생을 위해 사용된다. 따라서 디젤 미립자 필터의 온도 및 디젤 미립자 필터의 상류의 NO2 농도는 필터의 재생 효율을 위한 중요한 요인을 이룬다. 따라서 CRT 효과의 정확한 결정은 대응하는 재생 빈도를 감소시키고 따라서 CO2의 배출을 감소시키도록 재생 효율을 위해 매우 중요하다. 게다가, CRT 효과의 정확한 결정은 디젤 미립자 필터의 노화를 지연시키도록 중요하다.
디젤 미립자 필터 내 매연 축적 레벨에 기초하여 대응하는 재생 전략을 확립하는 것이 알려져 있다. 이것은 원래의 매연 배출물, CRT 효율 및 디젤 미립자 필터의 트랩 효율의 함수로서 모델링된다. 그러나, 실제 구동 조건하에서, 대응하는 NOX 레벨의 매우 큰 변동이 온도 조건 및 노화 조건에 따라 발생할 수 있으므로 CRT 효율을 정확하게 결정하는 것이 매우 어렵다. 이 의존도는 또한 대응하는 작동 조건으로부터 발생한다.

이 목적은 NO 센서가 디젤 미립자 필터의 상류에서 배기 가스 라인에 배열되고, NO 센서가 디젤 미립자 필터의 하류에서 배기 가스 라인에 배열된다는 점에서 처음에 언급된 유형의 디젤 엔진을 가진 본 발명에 따라 달성된다.
위에서 언급된 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 발명에 따른 추가의 변형에서, 본 발명에 따르면, 디젤 엔진에는 배기 가스 라인 및 배기 가스 라인에 배열된 디젤 미립자 필터가 제공되고, NO2 센서가 디젤 미립자 필터의 상류에서 배기 가스 라인에 배열되고, NO2 센서가 디젤 미립자 필터의 하류에서 배기 가스 라인에 배열되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
본 명세서에서 사용되는 용어 "NO"는 일산화질소를 의미하고, "NO2"는 이산화질소를 의미하고, "NOx"는 일산화질소뿐만 아니라 이산화질소를 의미한다. "CRT"는 연속적인 재생 트랩, 즉, 입자 트랩을 연속적으로 재생하는 원리를 의미한다. "DPF"는 디젤 미립자 필터를 의미한다. 용어 "DOC"(디젤 산화 촉매) 및 "SCR"(선택적 촉매 환원) 및 "SCR 촉매"(SCR 과정을 사용하는 촉매)가 또한 아래에서 사용된다.
위의 목적은 또한 본 발명에 따른 대응하는 방법에 의해 달성된다. 따라서 본 발명은 또한 배기 가스 라인 및 배기 가스 라인에 배열된 디젤 미립자 필터를 포함하는 디젤 엔진을 작동시키기 위한 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 해결책의 제1 변형예에서, 이 방법은,
- 디젤 미립자 필터의 상류에서 배기 가스 라인 내 NO 농도를 측정하는 단계;

- 디젤 미립자 필터의 상류에서 배기 가스 라인 내 NO2 농도를 측정하는 단계;
- 디젤 미립자 필터의 하류에서 배기 가스 라인 내 NO2 농도를 측정하는 단계; 및
- CRT 효과에 의해 감소된 입자량을 결정하기 위하여, 획득된 신호를 사용하여 디젤 미립자 필터의 하류와 상류의 NO2 농도 간의 차를 형성하는 단계를 포함한다.
본 발명은 대응하는 NO 센서 및/또는 NO2 센서의 배열에 의해 그리고 디젤 미립자 필터의 상류와 하류의 이 센서를 사용하여 대응하는 NO 및/또는 NO2 농도 측정을 수행함으로써 디젤 미립자 필터의 CRT 효율을 결정하는 개념에 기초한다. 게다가, 결정된 효율 값은 디젤 미립자 필터의 능동 재생을 제어하도록 사용된다. 다음의 절차가 적용된다:
NO 센서가 디젤 미립자 필터의 상류에서 그리고 하류에서 사용될 때 제1 변형에서, 디젤 미립자 필터의 하류의 NO의 증가, 즉, 디젤 미립자 필터의 하류와 디젤 미립자 필터의 상류의 NO 신호 간의 차가 결정된다. 이 값은 얼마나 많은 입자(매연 입자)가 CRT 효과에 의해 감소되는지를 확립하도록 사용된다.

본 발명의 또 다른 실시형태에서, SCR 촉매는 디젤 미립자 필터의 하류에서 배기 가스 라인에 배열되고, NO 센서와 NO2 센서는 SCR 촉매의 상류에 배열된다. 이 실시형태에서, 디젤 미립자 필터의 하류의 NO2/NOx 비가 결정될 수 있고, 이는 정확한 SCR 요소 추가를 제어하도록 사용된다.
추가의 또 다른 실시형태에서, 디젤 산화 촉매는 디젤 미립자 필터의 상류에서 배기 가스 라인에 배열되고, NOx 센서는 디젤 산화 촉매의 상류에 배열되고, NO 센서 또는 NO2 센서 중 하나는 디젤 미립자 필터의 상류와 하류에 배열된다.
이 실시형태에서, CRT 효과에 의한 매연 입자 감소는 NO 및/또는 NO2 센서가 상류에 배열되고 NO2 센서 또는 NO 센서가 디젤 미립자 필터의 하류에 배열되는, 위에서 설명된 실시형태와 동일한 방식으로 결정될 수 있다. 디젤 미립자 필터의 상류에서 측정된 총 NOx 농도는 순전히 NO2/NOx 비를 결정하도록 사용된다. 이 구성에 의해, 또한 디젤 산화 촉매의 상류의 NOx와 비교할 때 디젤 미립자 필터의 상류의 NO 또는 NO2 측정으로부터, 디젤 산화 촉매의 전환 효율이 디젤 산화 촉매의 공급 가스 진단을 위해 사용될 수 있다.
SCR 촉매의 상류의 NO2/NOx 비는 또한 디젤 미립자 필터 및/또는 디젤 산화 촉매의 능동 온도 관리를 위해 사용될 수도 있다. NO2/NOx 비가 매우 높다면(즉, 50% 초과), 디젤 산화 촉매의 온도는 예를 들어, 배기 가스 재순환(exhaust gas recirculation: EGR)의 감소에 의해 또는 더 높은 연소 효율을 향하여 연소 중심점의 이동을 통해 감소되어야 한다. NO2/NOx 비가 매우 낮다면(즉, 20% 미만), 디젤 산화 촉매의 온도는 예를 들어, EGR의 증가에 의해 또는 더 낮은 연소 효율을 향하여 연소 중심점을 지연시킴으로써 증가되어야 한다.
본 발명의 추가의 실시형태에서, 디젤 산화 촉매, 디젤 미립자 필터 및 SCR 촉매는 흐름 방향에서 연속적으로 배기 가스 라인에 배열되고, NO 센서 및 NO2 센서는 각각의 경우에 디젤 산화 촉매의 상류에서 배기 가스 라인에, 그리고 디젤 산화 촉매와 디젤 미립자 필터 사이에, 그리고 디젤 미립자 필터와 SCR 촉매 사이에 배열된다.

도 1에 도시된 바와 같이, 디젤 엔진의 배기 가스는 도면의 좌측으로부터 우측으로 배기 가스 라인(1)을 통해 운반된다. 따라서 배기 가스는 적합하고 알려진 방식으로 형성되는 디젤 미립자 필터(2)를 통과한다. NO 센서(3) 및 NO2 센서(4)는 디젤 미립자 필터(2)의 상류에서 배기 가스 라인에 배열된다. 추가의 NO2 센서(5)는 디젤 미립자 필터(2)의 하류에서 배기 가스 라인에 배열된다.
2개의 NO2 센서(4 및 5)에 의해, 디젤 미립자 필터를 통과한 후 배기 가스 라인 내 NO2의 감소(디젤 미립자 필터의 상류와 하류의 NO2 신호 간의 차)가 측정되어 CRT 효과에 의해 감소된 입자량(매연 양)을 확립한다. 또한, 디젤 미립자 필터의 하류의 NO2/NOx 비가 계산된다.
도 2에 도시된 실시형태에서, NO 센서(3) 및 NO2 센서(4)는 디젤 미립자 필터(2)의 상류에 위치되고, 반면에 NO 센서(6)는 디젤 미립자 필터(2)의 하류에서 배기 가스 라인에 배열된다. 이 배열은 CRT 효과에 의해 감소된 입자량을 확립하도록 사용되는, 디젤 미립자 필터의 하류의 NO의 증가(디젤 미립자 필터의 하류와 상류에서 NO 신호 간의 차)를 측정한다. 또한, 디젤 미립자 필터의 하류의 NO2/NOx 비는 계산에 의해 결정된다.
도 3은 디젤 산화 촉매(7)가 디젤 미립자 필터(2)의 상류에서 배기 가스 라인(1)에 배열되는 실시형태를 도시한다. 여기서, NOx 센서(8)는 디젤 산화 촉매(7)의 상류에서 배기 가스 라인(1)에 배열된다. NO 센서 또는 NO2 센서(9, 10) 중 하나는 디젤 미립자 필터(2)의 상류에 그리고 하류에 배열된다.
여기서, CRT 효과에 의한 입자량의 감소는 도 1 및 도 2의 절차와 유사한 방식으로 결정된다. 디젤 산화 촉매(7)의 상류에서 측정된 총 NOx 농도는 오직 NO2/NOx 비를 결정하도록 사용된다. 이 구성에 의해, 또한 디젤 산화 촉매의 상류의 NOx와 비교할 때 디젤 미립자 필터의 상류의 NO 또는 NO2 측정으로부터, DOC 전환 효율이 DOC 공급 가스 진단을 위해 사용될 수 있다.
Claims (11)
- 배기 가스 라인(1) 및 상기 배기 가스 라인(1)에 배열된 디젤 미립자 필터(2)를 가진 디젤 엔진으로서,
NO 센서(3)가 상기 디젤 미립자 필터(2)의 상류에서 상기 배기 가스 라인(1)에 배열되고 NO 센서(6)가 상기 디젤 미립자 필터(2)의 하류에서 상기 배기 가스 라인(1)에 배열되는 것을 특징으로 하는 디젤 엔진. - 배기 가스 라인(1) 및 상기 배기 가스 라인(1)에 배열된 상기 디젤 미립자 필터(2)를 가진 디젤 엔진으로서,
NO2 센서(4)가 상기 디젤 미립자 필터(2)의 상류에서 배기 가스 라인(1)에 배열되고 NO2 센서(5)가 상기 디젤 미립자 필터(2)의 하류에서 배기 가스 라인(1)에 배열되는 것을 특징으로 하는 디젤 엔진. - 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, NO 센서(3)와 NO2 센서(4) 둘 다가 상기 디젤 미립자 필터(2)의 상류에서 상기 배기 가스 라인(1)에 배열되는 것을 특징으로 하는 디젤 엔진.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, NO 센서(6)와 NO2 센서(5) 둘 다가 상기 디젤 미립자 필터(2)의 하류에서 상기 배기 가스 라인(1)에 배열되는 것을 특징으로 하는 디젤 엔진.
- 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, SCR 촉매가 상기 디젤 미립자 필터(2)의 하류에서 상기 배기 가스 라인(1)에 배열되고, NO 센서 및 NO2 센서가 상기 SCR 촉매의 상류에서 배열되는 것을 특징으로 하는 디젤 엔진.
- 제1항 내지 제5항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 디젤 산화 촉매(7)가 상기 디젤 미립자 필터(2)의 상류에서 상기 배기 가스 라인(1)에 배열되고, NO 센서(9) 또는 NO2 센서(10) 중 하나가 상기 디젤 산화 촉매(7)의 상류에 그리고 하류에 배열되는 것을 특징으로 하는 디젤 엔진.
- 제6항에 있어서, NOx 센서(8)가 상기 디젤 산화 촉매(7)의 상류에서 상기 배기 가스 라인(1)에 제공되는 것을 특징으로 하는 디젤 엔진.
- 제6항 또는 제7항에 있어서, 디젤 산화 촉매(7), 디젤 미립자 필터(2) 및 SCR 촉매가 흐름 방향에서 연속적으로 상기 배기 가스 라인(1)에 배열되고, NO 센서(9) 및 NO2 센서(10)가, 각각의 경우에, 상기 디젤 산화 촉매(7)의 상류에서 상기 배기 가스 라인(1)에, 그리고 상기 디젤 산화 촉매(7)와 상기 디젤 미립자 필터(2) 사이에, 그리고 상기 디젤 미립자 필터(2)와 상기 SCR 촉매 사이에 배열되는 것을 특징으로 하는 디젤 엔진.

- 상기 디젤 미립자 필터(2)의 하류에서 상기 배기 가스 라인(1) 내 NO2 농도를 측정하는 단계; 및
