태양전지 및 그 제조방법이 제공된다. 태양전지의 제조방법은, 기판 상에 광흡수층을 형성하는 것, 상기 광흡수층 상에 윈도우 전극을 형성하는 것, 및 상기 윈도우 전극에 요철 형상을 갖는 광 산란 시트를 부착하는 것을 포함한다. 상기 광 산란 시트는 접착 물질로 이루어진 단일층이다.
Description
본 발명은 태양전지 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 광 산란 시트를 포함하는 태양전지 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것이다.
태양전지는 태양광을 직접 전기로 변화하는 반도체 소자이다. 태양전지 기술은 태양전지의 대면적화, 저가화, 및 고효율화를 지향하고 있다.
박막 태양전지는 실리콘 태양전지에 비하여 에너지 회수 기간이 짧고, 초박막화 및 대면적화가 가능하다. 따라서, 박막 태양전지는 생산 기술의 개발 등으로 혁신적인 생산 비용 절감이 가능할 것으로 전망되고 있다. 또한, 박막 태양전지의 광전변환(photoelectric transformation) 효율을 높이기 위해, 구리-인듐-갈륨-셀레늄(Cu-In-Ga-Se) 또는 구리-아연-주석-셀레늄(Cu-Zn-Sn-Se)의 조성을 가지는 CIS계 박막을 이용한 CIS계 박막 태양전지의 개발에 많은 연구가 진행되어 왔다.
박막 태양전지의 광흡수층은 태양광을 흡수하여 전자-정공 쌍을 형성함으로써 빛 에너지를 전기 에너지로 변화시킨다. 광흡수층이 더 많은 태양광을 흡수할수록 더 많은 전기 에너지가 생성될 수 있고, 이에 따라, 박막 태양전지의 광전 변환 효율이 향상될 수 있다.
본 발명의 기술적 과제는 광전 변환 효율이 향상된 태양전지 및 그 제조방법을 제공하는 데 있다.
본 발명에 따른 태양전지의 제조방법은, 기판 상에 광흡수층을 형성하는 것, 상기 광흡수층 상에 윈도우 전극을 형성하는 것, 및 상기 윈도우 전극에 요철 형상을 갖는 광 산란 시트를 부착하는 것을 포함하되, 상기 광 산란 시트는 접착 물질로 이루어진 단일층일 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 태양전지의 제조방법은, 상기 광 산란 시트를 부착하기 전에, 상기 접착 물질을 포함하는 평면 시트 상에 요철 형상을 가지는 롤을 제공하는 것, 및 상기 평면 시트의 상부에 상기 요철 형상이 전사되도록 상기 롤을 롤링하여 상기 광 산란 시트를 제조하는 것을 포함할 수 있다.
일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 접착 물질은 ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA) 및 poly vinyl butyral(PVB)중 적어도 하나를 포함할 수 있다.
일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 요철 형상은 피라미드, 역 피라미드, 콘(cone), 실린더(cylinder), 및 사각기둥(square pillar) 중 어느 하나일 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 태양전지는 기판 상의 광흡수층, 및 상기 광흡수층 상에 배치되고, 요철 형상을 갖는 광 산란 시트를 포함하되, 상기 광 산란 시트는 접착 물질로 이루어진 단일층일 수 있다.
일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 접착 물질은 ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA) 및 poly vinyl butyral(PVB)중 적어도 하나를 포함할 수 있다.
일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 광 산란 시트는 0.01mm 내지 10cm의 두께를 가질 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 태양전지는 상기 기판과 상기 광흡수층 사이의 후면 전극, 상기 광흡수층과 상기 광 산란 시트 사이의 버퍼층, 및 상기 버퍼층과 상기 광 산란 시트 사이의 윈도우 전극을 더 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명의 개념에 따르면, 요철 형상을 가지는 광 산란 시트를 이용함으로써, 광전 변환 효율이 향상된 태양전지를 제공할 수 있다.
또한, 접착 물질을 포함하는 광 산란 시트를 이용함으로써, 광전 변환 효율이 향상된 태양전지를 용이하게 제조할 수 있다.

본 발명의 구성 및 효과를 충분히 이해하기 위하여, 첨부한 도면을 참조하여 본 발명의 바람직한 실시예들을 설명한다. 그러나 본 발명은 이하에서 개시되는 실시예들에 한정되는 것이 아니라, 여러가지 형태로 구현될 수 있고 다양한 변경을 가할 수 있다. 단지, 본 실시예들의 설명을 통해 본 발명의 개시가 완전하도록 하며, 본 발명이 속하는 기술 분야의 통상의 지식을 가진 자에게 발명의 범주를 완전하게 알려주기 위하여 제공되는 것이다. 첨부된 도면에서 구성 요소들은 설명의 편의를 위하여 그 크기가 실제보다 확대하여 도시한 것이며, 각 구성 요소의 비율은 과장되거나 축소될 수 있다.
본 발명의 실시예들에서 사용되는 용어들은 다르게 정의되지 않는 한, 해당 기술 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자에게 통상적으로 알려진 의미로 해석될 수 있다. 이하, 첨부한 도면을 참조하여 본 발명의 바람직한 실시예를 설명함으로써 본 발명을 상세히 설명한다.
도 1은 본 발명의 개념에 따른 태양전지를 설명하기 위한 개념도이다.
도 1을 참조하면, 본 발명의 개념에 따른 태양전지는 기판(10), 상기 기판(10) 상의 광 산란 시트(100), 상기 기판(10)과 상기 광 산란 시트(100) 사이의 광흡수층(30)을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 기판(10)은 소다회 유리 기판, 알루미나(alumina), 석영 등과 같은 세라믹 기판, 실리콘 등과 같은 반도체 기판, 스테인리스 스틸, 구리, 크롬, 몰리브데늄 등과 같은 금속 기판, 또는 폴리머 기판일 수 있다. 다른 실시예에 따르면, 도 1에 도시된 바와 달리, 상기 기판(10)은 상기 광 산란 시트(100)와 상기 광흡수층(30) 사이에 배치될 수 있다. 이 때, 상기 기판(10)은 투명 기판일 수 있다. 상기 광흡수층(30)은 결정질 실리콘, 다결정 실리콘, 비정질 실리콘, CuInSe, CuInSe2, CuInGaSe, CuInGaSe2와 같은 칼코파이라이트(chalcopyrite)계 화합물 반도체, CdTe와 같은 Ⅱ-Ⅵ족 화합물 반도체, 또는 GaAs, InP과 같은 Ⅲ-Ⅴ족 화합물 반도체 등을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 접착 물질을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 상기 접착 물질로 이루어진 단일층일 수 있다. 일 예로, 상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA) 및 poly vinyl butyral(PVB)중 적어도 하나를 포함할 수 있다. 상기 광 산란 시트(100)의 상부는 요철 형상을 가질 수 있다. 일 예로, 상기 요철 형상은 피라미드, 역 피라미드, 콘(cone), 실린더(cylinder), 사각기둥(square pillar) 등의 형상일 수 있다. 외부로부터의 입사광(120)은 상기 광 산란 시트(100)의 상부에 형성된 요철에 의해 산란되어 산란광(130)으로 변할 수 있다. 상기 산란광(130)은 다양한 각도로 상기 광흡수층(30) 내로 입사될 수 있고, 상기 광흡수층(30) 내에서의 광 전달 거리를 확장시켜 광흡수율을 향상시킬 수 있다. 이에 따라, 태양전지의 광전 변환 효율이 향상될 수 있다. 상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 약 50% 내지 약 100%의 광투과율을 가질 수 있고, 약 1% 내지 약 100%의 haze ratio를 가질 수 있다. 상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 약 0.01mm 내지 약 10cm의 두께를 가질 수 있다.
도 2는 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 CIGS계 태양전지의 단면도이다.
도 2를 참조하면, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 태양전지는 기판(10), 상기 기판(10) 상의 후면 전극(20), 상기 후면 전극(20) 상의 광흡수층(30), 상기 광흡수층(30) 상의 버퍼층(40), 상기 버퍼층(40) 상의 윈도우 전극(50), 및 상기 윈도우 전극(50) 상의 그리드(60)와 광 산란 시트(100)를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 기판(10)은 소다회 유리 기판, 세라믹 기판, 실리콘 등과 같은 반도체 기판, 금속 기판, 또는 폴리머 기판일 수 있다. 상기 후면 전극(20)은 몰리브데늄(Mo)과 같은 불투명 금속층을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 광흡수층(30)은 CuInSe, CuInSe2, CuInGaSe, 또는 CuInGaSe2와 같은 칼코파이라이트(chalcopyrite)계 화합물 반도체를 포함할 수 있다. 상기 버퍼층(40)은 상기 윈도우 전극(50)과 상기 광흡수층(30)의 에너지 밴드갭 차이를 완화할 수 있다. 상기 버퍼층(40)은 상기 광흡수층(30)보다 에너지 밴드 갭이 크고, 상기 윈도우 전극(50)보다 에너지 밴드 갭이 작을 수 있다. 상기 버퍼층(40)은 일 예로, CdS 박막일 수 있다.
상기 윈도우 전극(50)은 산화 인듐 주석 또는 산화 아연을 포함할 수 있다. 또한, 상기 윈도우 전극(50)은 금속 산화물층과 금속층을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 그리드(60)는 상기 윈도우 전극(50)에 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 상기 그리드(60)는 일 예로, 금, 은, 알루미늄, 인듐과 같은 적어도 하나의 금속층을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 윈도우 전극(50) 상에 상기 광 산란 시트(100)가 배치될 수 있다. 상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 접착 물질을 포함할 수 있고, 일 예로, ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA) 및 poly vinyl butyral(PVB)중 적어도 하나를 포함할 수 있다. 상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 상기 접착 물질로 이루어진 단일층일 수 있다. 상기 광 산란 시트(100)의 상부는 요철 형상을 가질 수 있다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 요철 형상은 피라미드 형상일 수 있다. 상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 상기 접착 물질에 의해 상기 윈도우 전극(50)에 부착될 수 있다. 상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 상기 요철 형상을 이용하여 외부로부터의 입사광을 산란광으로 변화시킬 수 있다. 상기 산란광은 다양한 각도로 상기 광흡수층(30) 내로 입사될 수 있고, 상기 광흡수층(30) 내에서의 광 전달 거리를 확장시켜 광흡수율을 향상시킬 수 있다. 이에 따라, 상기 태양전지의 광전 변환 효율이 향상될 수 있다. 상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 일 예로, 약 90%의 광투과율을 가질 수 있고, 약 30%의 haze ratio를 가질 수 있다. 또한, 상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 약 0.1mm의 두께를 가질 수 있다.
도 3은 본 발명의 다른 실시예에 따른 CIGS계 태양전지의 단면도이다. 도 2를 참조하여 설명한, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 CIGS계 태양전지와 동일한 구성에 대하여는 동일한 참조번호가 제공되고, 설명의 간소화를 위해 중복되는 설명은 생략될 수 있다.
도 3을 참조하면, 본 발명의 다른 실시예에 따른 태양전지는 기판(10), 상기 기판(10) 상의 후면 전극(20), 상기 후면 전극(20) 상의 광흡수층(30), 상기 광흡수층(30) 상의 버퍼층(40), 상기 버퍼층(40) 상의 윈도우 전극(50), 상기 윈도우 전극(50) 상의 그리드(60)와 광 산란 시트(100), 및 상기 윈도우 전극(50)과 상기 광 산란 시트(100) 사이의 반사방지막(70)을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 반사방지막(70)은 상기 광흡수층(30)으로 입사되는 태양광의 반사를 방지할 수 있다. 상기 반사방지막(70)의 굴절률은 상기 광 산란 시트(100)의 굴절률과 상기 윈도우 전극(50)의 굴절률 사이의 값을 가질 수 있다. 상기 반사방지막(70)은, 일 예로, 불화마그네슘(Magnesium fluoride, MgF2)을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 반사방지막(70) 상에 상기 광 산란 시트(100)가 배치될 수 있다. 상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 접착 물질을 포함할 수 있고, 일 예로, ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA) 및 poly vinyl butyral(PVB)중 적어도 하나를 포함할 수 있다. 상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 상기 접착 물질로 이루어진 단일층일 수 있다. 상기 광 산란 시트(100)의 상부는 요철 형상을 가질 수 있다. 상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 상기 접착 물질에 의해 상기 반사방지막(70)에 부착될 수 있다.
도 4는 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 CIGS계 태양전지의 제조방법을 설명하기 위한 순서도이고, 도 5 내지 도 8은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 CIGS계 태양전지의 제조방법을 설명하기 위한 단면도들이다.
도 4 및 도 5를 참조하면, 기판(10) 상에 후면 전극(20)이 형성된다(S10). 상기 기판(10)은 소다회 유리 기판, 세라믹 기판, 실리콘 등과 같은 반도체 기판, 금속 기판, 또는 폴리머 기판일 수 있다. 상기 후면 전극(20)은 몰리브데늄(Mo)과 같은 불투명 금속층을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 후면 전극(20)은 스퍼터링(sputtering) 방법 또는 증발(evaporation)법과 같은 진공 증착 방법으로 형성될 수 있다.
도 4 및 도 6을 참조하면, 상기 후면 전극(20) 상에 광흡수층(30)이 형성된다(S20). 상기 광흡수층(30)은 CuInSe, CuInSe2, CuInGaSe, 또는 CuInGaSe2와 같은 칼코파이라이트(chalcopyrite)계 화합물 반도체를 포함할 수 있다. 상기 광흡수층(80)은 스퍼터링 방법 및 동시 증발법(co-evaporation)과 같은 진공 증착 방법에 의해 형성될 수 있다.
도 4 및 도 7을 참조하면, 상기 광흡수층(30) 상에 버퍼층(40)이 형성된다(S30). 상기 버퍼층(40)은 일 예로, CdS 박막일 수 있다. 상기 버퍼층(4)은 일 예로, 화학적 배스(chemical bath) 증착 공정에 의해 형성될 수 있다.
도 4 및 도 8을 참조하면, 상기 버퍼층(40) 상에 윈도우 전극(50)이 형성된다(S40). 상기 윈도우 전극(50)은 산화 인듐 주석 또는 산화 아연을 포함할 수 있다. 또한, 상기 윈도우 전극(50)은 금속 산화물층과 금속층을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 윈도우 전극(50)은 물리 기상 증착과 같은 진공 증착 방법으로 형성될 수 있다. 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 윈도우 전극(50) 상에 그리드(60)가 더 형성될 수 있다. 다른 실시예에 따르면, 도 3을 참조하여 설명한 바와 같이, 상기 윈도우 전극(50) 상에 그리드(60) 및 반사방지막(70)이 더 형성될 수 있다. 상기 그리드(60)는 상기 광흡수층(30)에서 생성된 전자를 방출시킬 수 있다. 상기 그리드(60)는 상기 윈도우 전극(50)에 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 상기 그리드(60)는 일 예로, 금, 은, 알루미늄, 인듐과 같은 적어도 하나의 금속층을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 그리드(60)는 스퍼터링 또는 증발과 같은 진공 증착 방법을 이용하여 형성될 수 있다. 상기 반사방지막(70)은 상기 광흡수층(30)으로 입사되는 태양광의 반사를 방지할 수 있다. 일 예로, 상기 반사방지층(70)은 불화마그네슘(Magnesium fluoride, MgF2)을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 반사방지층(70) 또한 스퍼터링 또는 증발과 같은 진공 증착 방법을 이용하여 형성될 수 있다.
도 2 및 도 4를 다시 참조하면, 상기 윈도우 전극(50)에 광 산란 시트(100)가 부착된다(S50). 도 9는 본 발명의 개념에 따른 광 산란 시트의 제조방법을 설명하기 위한 개념도이다. 도 9를 참조하면, 접착 물질을 포함하는 평면 시트(200)가 제공될 수 있다. 상기 평면 시트(200)는 상기 접착 물질로 이루어진 단일층일 수 있다. 상기 평면 시트(200)는 일 예로, ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA) 및 poly vinyl butyral(PVB)중 적어도 하나를 포함할 수 있다. 상기 평면 시트(200) 상에 요철 형상을 가지는 롤(210)이 제공될 수 있다. 상기 요철 형상은 일 예로, 피라미드, 역 피라미드, 콘(cone), 실린더(cylinder), 사각기둥(square pillar) 등의 형상일 수 있다. 상기 평면 시트(200)의 상부에 상기 요철 형상이 전사되도록 상기 롤(210)을 롤링하여, 상기 광 산란 시트(100)가 제조될 수 있다. 이 후, 상기 방법으로 제조된 상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 상기 접착 물질에 의해 상기 윈도우 전극(60)에 부착될 수 있다. 그러나, 다른 실시예에 따르면, 도 3을 참조하여 설명한 바와 같이, 상기 윈도우 전극(50) 상에 상기 반사방지막(70)이 형성될 수 있고, 상기 방법으로 제조된 상기 광 산란 시트(100)는 상기 접착 물질에 의해 상기 반사방지막(70)에 부착될 수 있다.
상기 요철 형상이, 태양전지 내에 박막을 증착하고 상기 박막을 건식 또는 습식 식각하여 형성되는 경우, 상기 식각 공정 동안 또는 상기 식각 공정 후 상기 박막의 구조적 변화가 발생하여 태양전지의 전기적 특성이 저하될 수 있다. 또한, 상기 증착 및 식각 공정을 이용함으로써, 태양전지의 제조공정이 복잡할 수 있다. 그러나, 본 발명의 개념에 따른 광 산란 시트는 접착 물질을 포함할 수 있고, 상기 광 산란 시트의 요철 형상은, 요철 형상으로 갖는 롤을 이용하여 형성될 수 있다. 상기 광 산란 시트는 상기 접착 물질에 의해 태양전지의 윈도우 전극 또는 반사방지막에 용이하게 부착될 수 있다. 또한, 상기 광 산란 시트는 상기 요철 형상에 의해 외부로부터의 입사광을 산란광으로 변화시킬 수 있고, 상기 산란광은 광흡수층 내로 입사되어 상기 광흡수층의 광흡수율을 향상시킬 수 있다. 따라서, 본 발명의 개념에 따르면, 요철 형상을 가지는 광 산란 시트를 태양전지의 윈도우 전극 또는 반사방지막에 부착하는 간단한 방법을 이용하여, 태양전지의 광흡수율이 향상될 수 있고, 이에 따라 태양전지의 광전 변환 효율이 향상될 수 있다.
본 발명의 실시예들에 대한 이상의 설명은 본 발명의 설명을 위한 예시를 제공한다. 따라서 본 발명은 이상의 실시예들에 한정되지 않으며, 본 발명의 기술적 사상 내에서 당해 기술 분야의 통상의 지식을 가진 자에 의하여 상기 실시예들을 조합하여 실시하는 등 여러 가지 많은 수정 및 변경이 가능함은 명백하다.

Claims (8)
- 기판 상에 광흡수층을 형성하는 것;
상기 광흡수층 상에 윈도우 전극을 형성하는 것; 및
상기 윈도우 전극에 요철 형상을 갖는 광 산란 시트를 부착하는 것을 포함하되,
상기 광 산란 시트는 접착 물질로 이루어진 단일층인 태양전지의 제조방법. - 청구항 1에 있어서,
상기 광 산란 시트를 부착하기 전에,
상기 접착 물질을 포함하는 평면 시트 상에 요철 형상을 가지는 롤을 제공하는 것; 및
상기 평면 시트의 상부에 상기 요철 형상이 전사되도록 상기 롤을 롤링하여 상기 광 산란 시트를 제조하는 것을 포함하는 태양전지의 제조방법. - 청구항 1에 있어서,
상기 접착 물질은 ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA) 및 poly vinyl butyral(PVB)중 적어도 하나를 포함하는 태양전지의 제조방법. - 청구항 1에 있어서,
상기 요철 형상은 피라미드, 역 피라미드, 콘(cone), 실린더(cylinder), 및 사각기둥(square pillar) 중 어느 하나인 태양전지의 제조방법. - 기판 상의 광흡수층; 및
상기 광흡수층 상에 배치되고, 요철 형상을 갖는 광 산란 시트를 포함하되,
상기 광 산란 시트는 접착 물질로 이루어진 단일층인 태양전지. - 청구항 5에 있어서,
상기 접착 물질은 ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA) 및 poly vinyl butyral(PVB)중 적어도 하나를 포함하는 태양전지. - 청구항 5에 있이서,
상기 광 산란 시트는 0.01mm 내지 10cm의 두께를 가지는 태양전지. - 청구항 5에 있어서,
상기 기판과 상기 광흡수층 사이의 후면 전극;
상기 광흡수층과 상기 광 산란 시트 사이의 버퍼층; 및
상기 버퍼층과 상기 광 산란 시트 사이의 윈도우 전극을 더 포함하는 태양전지.
