Claims (9)
- 입력 영상 신호에 의한 영상을 표시하는 액정 패널과, 그 액정 패널을 조사하는 광원과, 주위의 밝기를 검출하기 위한 밝기 검출 수단을 갖고, 그 밝기 검출 수단에 의해 검출한 밝기에 따라서, 상기 입력 영상 신호의 특징량에 대한 상기 광원의 발광 휘도를 규정하는 휘도 제어 특성을 변화시키도록 한 액정 표시 장치로서,상기 밝기 검출 수단에 의해 검출한 밝기에 대응하여, 상기 입력 영상 신호의 특징량에 대한 상기 광원의 발광 휘도를 변화시킴과 함께, 상기 휘도 제어 특성의 기울기가 변하는 점인 특성 변경점의 위치를 변화시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 입력 영상 신호에 의한 영상을 표시하는 액정 패널과, 그 액정 패널을 조사하는 광원과, 주위의 밝기를 검출하기 위한 밝기 검출 수단을 갖고, 그 밝기 검출 수단에 의해 검출한 밝기에 따라서, 상기 입력 영상 신호의 특징량에 대한 상기 광원의 발광 휘도를 규정하는 휘도 제어 특성을 변화시키도록 한 액정 표시 장치로서,상기 휘도 제어 특성의 기울기가 변하는 점인 특성 변경점이 복수 존재하고,상기 밝기 검출 수단에 의해 검출한 밝기에 대응하여, 상기 복수의 특성 변경점의 위치를 변화시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 입력 영상 신호에 의한 영상을 표시하는 액정 패널과, 그 액정 패널을 조사하는 광원과, 주위의 밝기를 검출하기 위한 밝기 검출 수단을 갖고, 그 밝기 검출 수단에 의해 검출한 밝기에 따라서, 상기 입력 영상 신호의 특징량에 대한 상기 광원의 발광 휘도를 규정하는 휘도 제어 특성을 변화시키도록 한 액정 표시 장치로서,상기 휘도 제어 특성은, 식 y=ax+b(단, x=입력 영상 신호의 특징량, y=광원의 발광 휘도, a, b=상수)로 직접적 또는 근사적으로 표현되는 복수의 요소에 의해 구성되고,상기 밝기 검출 수단에 의해 검출한 밝기에 대응하여, 상기 휘도 제어 특성을 구성하는 상기 요소가 변하는 점인 특성 변경점의 위치를 변화시킴과 함께, 그 특징 변경점에 근접하는 상기 요소를 나타내는 식에서의 상수 a 또는 b 중 적어도 한쪽을 변화시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 특성 변경점은, 상기 휘도 제어 특성을 직선으로 근사하였을 때의 교점인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 입력 영상 신호에 의한 영상을 표시하는 액정 패널과, 그 액정 패널을 조사하는 광원과, 주위의 밝기를 검출하기 위한 밝기 검출 수단을 갖고, 그 밝기 검출 수단에 의해 검출한 밝기에 따라서, 상기 입력 영상 신호의 특징량에 대한 상기 광원의 발광 휘도를 규정하는 휘도 제어 특성을 변화시키도록 한 액정 표시 장치로서,상기 밝기 검출 수단에 의해 검출한 밝기에 대응하여, 상기 휘도 제어 특성에서는, 상기 특징량에 상관없이 상기 광원의 발광 휘도가 최대 발광 휘도로 일정하게 되는 영역, 또는 상기 특징량이 작아질수록 상기 광원의 발광 휘도가 최대 발광 휘도보다 작아지는 영역을 변화시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 밝기 검출 수단에 의해 검출한 밝기가 어두울수록 상기 영역을 작게 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 입력 영상 신호의 특징량으로서, 적어도 입력 영상 신호의 1 프레임 단위의 평균 휘도 레벨을 이용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제7항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 입력 영상 신호를 신축함과 함께, 상기 광원의 발광 휘도를 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제7항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 입력 영상 신호에 대한 계조 변환 특성을 변경함과 함께, 상기 광원의 발광 휘도를 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
