Claims (10)
- 입력 영상 신호에 의한 영상을 표시하는 액정 패널과, 그 액정 패널을 조사하는 광원을 갖고, 상기 입력 영상 신호의 특징량에 기초하여 상기 광원의 발광 휘도를 제어하는 액정 표시 장치로서,상기 특징량을 측정하는 영상 신호의 화면 영역을, 상기 액정 패널에 표시하는 영상에 따라 자동적으로 가변 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 영상 신호에 포함되는 무영상의 영역을, 상기 특징량을 검출하는 화면 영역으로부터 제외하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 영상 신호의 휘도 신호를 미리 정한 임계치와 비교하여, 그 임계치보다 낮은 영상 영역을 상기 무영상의 영역으로서 검출하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 액정 패널에 표시하는 영상의 장르 정보에 기초하여, 상기 특징량을 측정하는 화면 영역을 결정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 장르 정보에 기초하여, 본래의 영상 신호에 부가된 부가 정보가 표시될 가능성이 높은 영역을, 상기 특징량을 측정하는 화면 영역으로부터 제외하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제5항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,OSD 정보의 표시를 행할 때, 그 OSD 정보가 표시되는 영역을, 상기 특징량을 측정하는 범위로부터 제외하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,복수 화면의 영상을 동시에 표시할 때 생기는 무영상 영역을, 상기 특징량을 측정하는 범위로부터 제외하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제7항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 입력 영상 신호의 특징량으로서, 적어도 입력 영상 신호의 1 프레임 단위의 평균 휘도 레벨을 이용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제8항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 입력 영상 신호를 신축함과 함께, 상기 광원의 발광 휘도를 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제8항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 입력 영상 신호에 대한 계조 변환 특성을 변경함과 함께, 상기 광원의 발광 휘도를 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
