Description
Claims (12)
- 무선국에 의해 WLAN(wireless local area network) 액세스 포인트로부터의 비컨 송신들을 스캔하는 방법으로서,스캔 및 셧다운 절차를 수행하는 단계를 포함하고,상기 스캔 및 셧다운 절차를 수행하는 단계는,타겟 비컨 시점에서 상기 무선국의 WLAN 라디오 서브시스템을 웨이크업하는 단계;현재 연관된 채널 상에서 비컨을 수신하는 단계 -상기 비컨 송신은 수신된 액세스 포인트 식별자를 포함하는 비컨 데이터를 포함함-;상기 비컨 데이터를 상기 무선국의 호스트 프로세서로 전달하는 단계;상기 수신하는 단계 및 전달하는 단계 직후에, 상기 WLAN 라디오 서브시스템을 저전력 상태로 하는 단계;상기 호스트 프로세서에 의해 수행되는, 상기 수신된 액세스 포인트 식별자를 현재 연관된 액세스 포인트 식별자와 비교하는 단계;상기 수신된 액세스 포인트 식별자가 상기 현재 연관된 액세스 포인트 식별자와 동일하면, 후속의 비컨 송신을 수신하기 위해 상기 스캔 및 셧다운 절차를 계속하는 단계; 및상기 수신된 액세스 포인트 식별자가 상기 현재 연관된 액세스 포인트 식별자와 동일하지 않으면, 상기 비컨 데이터를 파기하고 시간 창 스캔 절차(a timed window scanning procedure)를 이용해 상기 후속의 비컨 송신을 수신하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 비컨 데이터를 수신하는 단계는 상기 액세스 포인트 식별자로서 BSSID(basic service set identifier)를 수신하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 비컨 송신을 수신하는 단계는 완전한 비컨(full beacon)을 수신하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서,상기 완전한 비컨을 수신하는 단계는 실질적으로 100 밀리초(millisecond) 간격으로 상기 완전한 비컨을 수신하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 비컨 송신을 수신하는 단계는 완전한 비컨보다 덜 완전한 비컨 데이터를 가진 보충 비컨(supplemental beacon)을 수신하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 타겟 비컨 시점에서 상기 WLAN 라디오 서브시스템을 웨이크업하는 단계는 앞서 수신된 비컨에서 수신된 타이밍 정보로써 수행되는 방법.
- 무선국에 의해 WLAN(wireless local area network) 액세스 포인트로부터의 비컨 송신들을 스캔하는 방법으로서,시간 창 스캔 절차를 수행하는 단계를 구비하고,상기 시간 창 스캔 절차를 수행하는 단계는,타겟 비컨 시점에서 상기 무선국의 WLAN 라디오 서브시스템을 웨이크업하는 단계;현재 연관된 채널 상에서 제1 비컨 및 제2 비컨을 수신하는 단계 -상기 제1 및 제2 비컨들은 수신된 액세스 포인트 식별자를 포함하는 비컨 데이터를 포함함-;상기 비컨 데이터를 상기 무선국의 호스트 프로세서로 전달하는 단계;시간 창 간격이 끝난 후에, 상기 WLAN 라디오 서브시스템을 저전력 상태로 하는 단계;상기 호스트 프로세서에 의해 수행되는, 상기 제1 비컨의 상기 수신된 액세스 포인트 식별자를 현재 연관된 액세스 포인트 식별자와 비교하는 단계;상기 제1 비컨의 상기 수신된 액세스 포인트 식별자가 상기 현재 연관된 액세스 포인트 식별자와 동일하면, 스캔 및 셧다운 절차를 이용해 후속의 비컨 송신을 수신하는 단계; 및상기 제1 비컨의 상기 수신된 액세스 포인트 식별자가 상기 현재 연관된 액 세스 포인트 식별자와 동일하지 않으면, 상기 비컨 데이터를 파기하고 상기 시간 창 절차(timed window procedure)를 이용해 상기 후속의 비컨 송신을 수신하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 비컨 데이터를 수신하는 단계는 상기 액세스 포인트 식별자로서 BSSID(basic service set identifier)를 수신하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 제1 비컨 송신을 수신하는 단계는 완전한 비컨을 수신하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제9항에 있어서,상기 완전한 비컨을 수신하는 단계는 실질적으로 100 밀리초 간격으로 상기 완전한 비컨을 수신하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 제1 비컨 송신을 수신하는 단계는 완전한 비컨보다 덜 완전한 비컨 데이터를 가진 보충 비컨을 수신하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 타겟 비컨 시점에서 상기 WLAN 라디오 서브시스템을 웨이크업하는 단계는 앞서 수신된 비컨에서 수신된 타이밍 정보로써 수행되는 방법.
