Abstract

Provided is a composition for removing a so-called sick house syndrome, which adsorbs, decomposes and removes harmful materials causing contamination of an indoor environment, including formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds, and shows such effects semi-permanently. The composition for removing a sick house syndrome comprises: tourmaline, diatomaceous earth, an alkaline material and water. The composition is provided in the form of an alkaline solution in which the porous microparticles including tourmaline and diatomaceous earth are dispersed. The composition is applied onto a flooring material or into cavities in furniture with a sprayer, brush or roller, or sprayed onto a wall surface or ceiling, so that the composition adsorbs, decomposes and removes harmful materials before the emission thereof.
