Description
Claims (20)
- 양방향 통신 디바이스(102)에 사용하기 위한 방법으로서,다운스트림 데이터 신호가 검출될 때까지 복수의 통신 채널들 각각에 대해 다음의 단계들을 반복적으로 수행하는 단계;상기 복수의 통신 채널들로부터 통신 채널을 선택하는 단계(306);제 1 시스템 인터페이스 표준에 따르는 제 1 대역폭을 갖는 다운스트림 신호를 검사하는 단계(308); 및상기 제 1 대역폭을 갖는 상기 다운스트림 신호가 검출되지 않으면(310), 제 2 시스템 인터페이스 표준에 따르는 제 2 대역폭을 갖는 다운스트림 신호에 대해 상기 선택된 통신 채널을 검사하는 단계(312)를 포함하는, 양방향 통신 디바이스에 사용하기 위한 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 및 제 2 시스템 인터페이스 표준들은 북미 DOCSIS 표준 및 유럽 DOCSIS 표준을 포함하는 표준들의 그룹으로부터 선택되는, 양방향 통신 디바이스에 사용하기 위한 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 검사 단계들은, 상기 제 1 대역폭은 8 MHz 다운스트림 신호(308, 310)이고 상기 제 2 대역폭은 6 MHz 다운스트림 신호(312, 314)이도록, 유럽 DOCSIS 표준을 위해 최적화되는, 양방향 통신 디바이스에 사용하기 위한 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 검사 단계들은, 상기 제 1 대역폭은 6 MHz 다운스트림 신호(312, 314)이고 상기 제 2 대역폭은 8 MHz 다운스트림 신호(308, 310)이도록, 북미 DOCSIS 표준을 위해 최적화되는, 양방향 통신 디바이스에 사용하기 위한 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 복수의 통신 채널들은 복수의 미리 설정된 채널 주파수들(304 - 316), 복수의 CCIR 채널 주파수들(318 - 328), 복수의 UK 채널 주파수들(330 - 340), 복수의 HRC 채널 주파수들, 및 복수의 IRC 채널 주파수들 중의 적어도 하나를 포함하는, 양방향 통신 디바이스에 사용하기 위한 방법.
- 제 5 항에 있어서,상기 복수의 통신 채널들은 연속적인 범위의 주파수들(346 - 358)을 더 포함하는, 양방향 통신 디바이스에 사용하기 위한 방법.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,증분 단계들(358)에서 상기 연속적인 범위의 주파수들을 검사하는 단계를 더포함하는, 양방향 통신 디바이스에 사용하기 위한 방법.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 연속적인 범위의 주파수들(346 - 358)을 검사하는 단계 이전에, 상기 복수의 미리 설정된 채널 주파수들(304 - 316), 상기 복수의 CCIR 채널 주파수들(318 - 328), 상기 복수의 UK 채널 주파수들(330 - 340), 상기 복수의 HRC 채널 주파수들, 및 상기 복수의 IRC 채널 주파수들 중의 상기 적어도 하나를 적어도 두 번(342, 344) 검사하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 양방향 통신 디바이스에 사용하기 위한 방법.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 연속적인 범위의 주파수들은 110 MHz와 862 MHz 사이의 주파수 범위를 포함하는, 양방향 통신 디바이스에 사용하기 위한 방법.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,다운스트림 데이터 신호(362)를 검출시, 상기 다운스트림 데이터 신호의 DOCSIS 표준에 따르는 멀티 레이트 복조기를 설정하는 단계; 및상기 다운스트림 데이터 신호에서 CMTS 정보에 따르는 변조기를 설정하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 양방향 통신 디바이스에 사용하기 위한 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 양방향 통신 디바이스는 케이블 모뎀인, 양방향 통신 디바이스에 사용하기 위한 방법.
- 멀티 모드 양방향 통신 디바이스(102)에 있어서,고역 통과 필터(132) 및 저역 통과 필터(134)를 포함하는 다이플렉서(130);상기 고역 통과 필터에 결합된 다운스트림 처리 회로(108);상기 저역 통과 필터에 결합된 업스트림 처리 회로(106); 및복수의 통신 채널들을 검색하기 위한 검색 수단들(126, 300)로서, 각각의 통신 채널은 또 다른 통신 채널을 검사하기 이전에, 복수의 인터페이스 표준들 중의 하나에 따르는 다운스트림 데이터 신호의 획득을 위해 검사되는, 상기 검색 수단들(126, 300)을 포함하는, 멀티 모드 양방향 통신 디바이스.
- 제 12 항에 있어서, 상기 다운스트림 처리 회로는,동조기(112);멀티 레이트 복조기(118); 및상기 동조기와 상기 복조기 사이에 선택적으로 결합된 SAW 필터(114)를 포함하는, 멀티 모드 양방향 통신 디바이스.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 SAW 필터는 8 MHz의 대역폭을 갖는, 멀티 모드 양방향 통신 디바이스.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 고역 통과 필터는 106 MHz보다 큰 신호들을 통과시키는, 멀티 모드 양방향 통신 디바이스.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 저역 통과 필터는 65 MHz보다 낮은 신호들을 통과시키는, 멀티 모드 양방향 통신 디바이스.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 멀티 모드 양방향 통신 디바이스는 케이블 모뎀(102)인, 멀티 모드 양방향 통신 디바이스.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 복수의 인터페이스 표준들은 북미 DOCSIS(Data Over Cable Service Interface Specifications) 및 유럽 DOCSIS 표준들를 포함하는 그룹으로부터 선택되는, 멀티 모드 양방향 통신 디바이스.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 검출 수단은 8 MHz 또는 6 MHz의 대역폭을 갖는 64 및 256 QAM 다운스트림 신호 중의 적어도 하나의 획득을 위해 상기 복수의 통신 채널들 각각을 검사하는 제어기 수단(126)을 포함하는, 멀티 모드 양방향 통신 디바이스.
- 제 19 항에 있어서,상기 복수의 통신 채널들은 복수의 미리 설정된 채널 주파수들(304 - 316), 복수의 CCIR 채널 주파수들(318 - 328), 복수의 UK 채널 주파수들(330 - 340), 복수의 HRC 채널 주파수들, 및 복수의 IRC 채널 주파수들 중의 적어도 하나를 포함하는, 멀티 모드 양방향 통신 디바이스.
