Abstract

PURPOSE: A composition containing L-arginine, Corni Fructus and/or an extract thereof and Cordyceps sinensis and/or an extract thereof as a main ingredient is provided which is useful in effectively enhancing erection of the penile and treating male erectile dysfunction. CONSTITUTION: A composition for prevention and treatment of erectile dysfunction contains 50 to 80 parts by weight of L-arginine, 5 to 20 parts by weight of Corni Fructus and an extract thereof and 5 to 20 parts by weight of Cordyceps sinensis or an extract thereof. For an example, 300mg L-arginine is mixed with 30mg Corni Fructus powder, 50mg Cordyceps sinensis extract, 100mg lactose and a suitable amount of magnesium stearate to produce a tablet for the prevention or treatment of erectile impotence in a human male.

The present inventors have completed the present invention by finding that the composition containing L-arginine, cornus extract and Cordyceps sinensis or its extract as a main ingredient has excellent efficacy in the prevention and treatment of erectile dysfunction in men.

Accordingly, the present invention provides a composition having L-arginine, cornus or its extract and Cordyceps sinensis or a composition containing the extract as a main component having excellent efficacy in preventing and treating erectile dysfunction in men.

Experimental Example 1

Three mature male monkeys of South African long-tailed monkeys weighing 5.2-6.5 kg were used.
