Abstract
Description
Claims (23)
- 광이 엣지로부터 전체 내부 반사에 의해 전파되도록 하는 입력 엣지 및 평면 확장부와, 평면 외부각 범위에서 입력 엣지로 광선을 주사하도록 배열된 변조된 광원(2)으로 이루어지고, 그 전파방향을 따라 각각 다른 점에서 전체적으로 내부 반사되는 대신에 다른 평면 외부 각에서 입사하는 광선이 배출 도파관을 떠나도록 광-배출 도파관이 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 일반적인 평면 도파관(1)을 포함하는 광학 시스템.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 도파관(1)은 그 전파방향을 따라 폭이 좁아지도록 테이퍼진 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 시스템.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 도파관 일면에 비반사 코팅부를 추가 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 시스템.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 도파관의 표준 평면쪽으로 도파관으로부터 배출되는 광을 재지향하는 수단을 추가 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 시스템.
- 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 광이 실질적으로 배출 도파관(1)의 입력 엣지 전체에 걸쳐 주입되도록 광원으로부터 입력되는 광을 지향시키는 입력 도파관(3)(25)을 추가 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 시스템.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 입력 도파관(3)은 입력 엣지가 구비된 2차원 평면이거나 판 도파관이고, 광을 배출 도파관(1)의 엣지로 주입하기 위하여 평면 외부 각이 보존되는 동안에 평면내 입력 엣지 상에 있는 점으로부터 발생되는 광을 확산시키도록 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 시스템.
- 제6항에 있어서, 입력 도파관(3)으로부터 상기 배출 도파관(1)의 입력 엣지로 광을 결합하는 수단(5)을 추가 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 시스템.
- 제5항 내지 7항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 광원은 변조된 광을 다양한 평면 외부 각에서 입력 도파관(3)으로 주입하도록 배열된 투사기(2)인 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 시스템.
- 제8항에 있어서, 입력 도파관(3)의 입력 엣지를 따라 배열된 수 개의 투사기(21)(22)(23)를 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 시스템.
- 제8항 또는 제9항에 있어서, 디스플레이인 것을 특징으로 하는 시스템.
- 제9항 또는 제10항에 있어서, 상기 각각의 투사기들은 3차원 디스플레이를 형성하는 방법으로 별개의 영상을 입력하는 것을 특징으로 하는 시스템.
- 제5항 내지 제11항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 평면 내외부 각을 보존하고, 두 개의 평면 도파관이 서로 절첩되도록 하는 광학 변환기(8)를 추가 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 시스템.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 입력 도파관(25)은 반드시 1차원으로서, 상기 배출 도파관의 입력 엣지를 따라 배열되고, 광선이 평면 도파관으로 주입되도록 일측 단부로 주입된 라인 외부 각도의 광선을 그 길이를 따라 다른 점에서 이탈시키기 위하여 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 시스템.
- 제13항에 있어서, 상기 광원은 변조된 광을 선형 도파관으로 주입하도록 배열된 투사기(2)인 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 시스템.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 투사기(27)는 광을 다양한 라인 외부 각에서 선형 도파관(25)으로 주입하도록 배열된 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 시스템.
- 광이 엣지로부터 전체 내부 반사에 의해 전파되도록 하는 입력 엣지 및 평면 확장부를 구비하고, 도파관을 따라 각각 다른 점에서 전체적으로 내부 반사되는 대신에 다른 평면 외부 각에서 입사하는 광선이 도파관을 떠나도록 광-배출 도파관인 일반적인 평면 도파관(1),반드시 1차원으로서 실질적으로 상기 배출 도파관의 입력 엣지 전체에 걸쳐 광원으로부터 입력되는 광을 지향시키기 위하여 상기 배출 도파관의 입력 엣지를 따라 배열되는 입력 도파관(25), 및입력 도파관으로 광선을 주사하도록 배열되는 변조된 광원(47)으로 구성되고,상기 도파관은 광이 각 도파관을 떠나는 위치를 가변시키도록 배열된 어드레서블(addressable)한 부분(41)을 추가 포함하고, 상기 광원은 광학섬유가 방사점이 가변되듯이 평면 배출 도파관으로부터 방사된 광선을 집적하도록 배열되는 바와 같이 입력 광을 단일 각에서 입력 도파관으로 입력시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 변조 장치.
- 평면광원보다 폭이 더 좁은 광원과, 하나의 엣지에 광을 수신하고, 광이 판을 가로질러 움직이도록 광원폭으로 확장하는 입력 판 도파관(3)과, 입력 도파관에서 방사되어 확장된 광을 엣지에서 수신하여 배출 도파관의 평면 외부로 재지향하는 배출 도파관(1)으로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 평면 광원.
- 도파관 평면에서의 파동전면전파를 전환하도록 입력단부와 출력단부를 구비하고, 두께를 선택적으로 가변시키도록 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 일반적인 평면시트형 광학 도파관.
- 제18항에 있어서, 상기 두께는 도파관의 폭을 가로질러 가변되는 것을 특징으로 하는 도파관.
- 제19항에 있어서, 상기 두께는 원형 파두면을 직선 파두면으로 변환시키는 방법으로 가변되는 것을 특징으로 하는 도파관.
- 테이퍼된 표면이 배스(bath) 일측면으로부터의 전자기력에 의해 금속배스 상에 생성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 유리 부양 공정에 의한 테이퍼된 유리 시트 제조방법.
- 영상 투사기(2)와, 입력 엣지 및 스크린으로 구성되는 일반적인 평면 도파관(3)으로 구성되고, 영상이 투사기(2)로부터 입력 엣지로 투사되고 도파관 평면을 통과하여 스크린(7)에 전달되도록 디스플레이가 배열되는 것을 특징으로 하는 투사 디스플레이.
- 제22항에 있어서, 상기 도파관(3)은 영상을 배출하는 투사기(2) 부분보다 훨씬 폭이 넓은 균일한 두께의 판으로서 투사된 영상이 스크린에 전달되기 전에 횡으로 확장시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 투사 디스플레이.
