Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a tire, and more particularly, to a tire having a rim protector.
Recently, the width of the tire is widening. And the material of the rim is changing from steel to aluminum. For this reason, the outer side surface of the bead portion and the rim flange portion often come into contact with an obstacle on the road, such as a road boundary stone, and are damaged. In addition, there is a problem in that the tire is widened to enlarge the ground surface, thereby increasing the load transferred to the bead portion, thereby damaging the bead portion.
In order to solve such a problem, a tire having a rim protector protruding from the outer surface of the tire outside the bead has been developed.
However, the rim protector of the tire having the above rim protector lowers the ride quality and causes the generation of heat and noise due to friction with the rim due to the thick rubber thickness. Accordingly, a tire having a rim protector that changes the shape of a rim protector as disclosed in EP-A-0983875A2 has been proposed.
