Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a tire having a rim protector,

The present invention relates to a tire, and more particularly, to a tire having a rim protector.

Recently, the width of the tire is widening. And the material of the rim is changing from steel to aluminum. For this reason, the outer side surface of the bead portion and the rim flange portion often come into contact with an obstacle on the road, such as a road boundary stone, and are damaged. In addition, there is a problem in that the tire is widened to enlarge the ground surface, thereby increasing the load transferred to the bead portion, thereby damaging the bead portion.

In order to solve such a problem, a tire having a rim protector protruding from the outer surface of the tire outside the bead has been developed.

However, the rim protector of the tire having the above rim protector lowers the ride quality and causes the generation of heat and noise due to friction with the rim due to the thick rubber thickness. Accordingly, a tire having a rim protector that changes the shape of a rim protector as disclosed in EP-A-0983875A2 has been proposed.

Hereinafter, a tire having a conventional rim protector disclosed in European Patent Publication No. 0983875A2 will be described with reference to the drawings.

1 is a cross-sectional view of a tire having a conventional rim protector.

Referring to FIG. 1, a conventional tire 1 having a rim protector includes a rim protector 20 formed in a sidewall 10 and a groove 30 formed in a rim protector 20 in a circumferential direction.

The tire 1 having such a conventional rim protector can improve the riding comfort by deforming the rim protector 20 by the groove 30 during running and reduce the heat generation and noise due to friction between the rim protector 20 and the rim .

However, in the conventional tire 1 having the rim protector, the inner surfaces of the grooves 30 are in contact with each other during the handling, causing friction, which may cause rapid wear and breakage.

Further, when the tire 1 having the conventional rim protector is continuously subjected to a large load, a part of the groove 30 is closed and the effect of the groove 30 is not generated.

European Patent Publication No. 0983875A2 (entitled " Pneumatic tire ", published on Aug. 10, 2000)

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems occurring in the prior art, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a friction stir welding tool capable of preventing rapid wear and breakage due to friction generated when inner surfaces of grooves contact each other during handling, The present invention also provides a tire having a rim protector that can generate an effect due to a groove even when the tire is received.

Here, the cross-sectional diameter of the hollow portion may be 1 mm to 5 mm.

The cross-sectional shape of the hollow portion may be a dome-shaped.

The length of the upper protrusion and the length of the lower protrusion may be 0.5 mm to 2 mm.

The plurality of upper protrusions and the plurality of lower protrusions may be arranged such that each of the plurality of upper protrusions is sandwiched between two of the plurality of lower protrusions, .

According to the tire having the rim protector according to the present invention, since the inner surfaces of the hollow portions do not contact each other during handling, rapid wear and breakage due to friction occurring when the inner surfaces of the hollow portions are in contact with each other can be prevented .
