Claims (8)
- 데이터 배선 및 게이트 배선이 종횡으로 배열하여 복수개의 화소를 형성하고, 각 화소는 반사 영역 및 투과 영역으로 구분되는 반투과형 액정표시장치에 있어서,화상 데이터를 입력받아 변환하여 출력하는 타이밍 컨트롤러;반사 모드 또는 투과 모드의 선택에 따라 타이밍 컨트롤러의 출력 신호를 결정하는 스위치부;상기 타이밍 컨트롤러로부터 게이트 신호를 입력받는 게이트 드라이버;상기 타이밍 컨트롤러로부터 데이터 신호를 입력받는 데이터 드라이버;상기 게이트 드라이버 및 데이터 드라이버로부터 게이트 펄스 및 데이터 전압의 인가에 따라 화상을 표시하는 TFT 기판과 컬러 필터 기판이 합착된 액정 패널; 및상기 액정 패널 하부에 설치되어 투과 모드일 때 적색, 녹색, 청색의 빛을 일정한 순서로 발광하여 각 화소의 투과 영역으로 투과시키고, 반사 모드일 경우에는 오프 상태를 유지하는 순차 백라이트를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 색재현성과 휘도를 증가시킨 반투과형 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 컬러 필터 기판은 반사 영역에만 컬러 필터가 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 색재현성과 휘도를 증가시킨 반투과형 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 순차 백라이트에 연결되어 투과 모드일 때 빛의 발광 타이밍을 결정하는 백라이트 컨트롤러를 추가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 색재현성과 휘도를 증가시킨 반투과형 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 데이터 드라이버는 인접한 3개의 데이터 배선을 묶는 먹스 회로를 포함하고, 투과 모드일 때 상기 먹스 회로가 턴온되고, 반사 모드일 때 상기 먹스 회로가 턴오프되는 것을 특징으로 하는 색재현성과 휘도를 증가시킨 반투과형 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 순차 백라이트는 적색, 녹색, 청색을 표시하는 세 종류의 발광 다이오드로 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 색재현성과 휘도를 증가시킨 반투과형 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 TFT 기판과 컬러 필터 기판 사이의 셀 갭은 투과 영역이 반사 영역의 두 배인 것을 특징으로 하는 색재현성과 휘도를 증가시킨 반투과형 액정표시장치.
- 데이터 배선 및 게이트 배선이 종횡으로 배열하여 복수개의 화소를 형성하고, 각 화소는 반사 영역 및 투과 영역으로 구분되는 반투과형 액정표시장치의 구 동 방법에 있어서,타이밍 컨트롤러가 화상 데이터를 입력받는 단계;스위치부에 의해 반사 모드 또는 투과 모드가 선택되는 단계;상기 모드의 선택에 따라 타이밍 컨트롤러가 화상 데이터를 변환하여 출력하는 단계; 및반사 모드가 선택된 경우, 인접한 3개의 화소의 반사 영역에 각각 형성된 적색, 녹색, 청색의 컬러 필터를 통과하는 외부광의 조합으로 색을 표시하고,투과 모드가 선택된 경우, 인접한 3개의 화소의 투과 영역에 램프에 의해 순차적으로 조사되는 적색광, 녹색광, 청색광의 조합으로 색을 표시하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 색재현성과 휘도를 증가시킨 반투과형 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 7 항에 있어서, 투과 모드가 선택된 경우 각 프레임을 적색광, 녹색광, 청색광이 조사되는 세 개의 서브 프레임으로 분할하고, 상기 인접한 3개의 화소에는 각 서브 프레임마다 동일한 데이터 전압이 인가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 색재현성과 휘도를 증가시킨 반투과형 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
