Claims (12)
- 패널의 전면을 향해 광을 방출할 수 있는 메모리 효과를 갖는 전계발광 셀(1)의 매트릭스를 포함하는 영상 디스플레이 패널로서,- 상기 셀(1) 각각에서 전면 전극 어레이가 후면 전극 어레이를 가로지르는, 전면 전극 어레이(18) 및 후면 전극 어레이(11)와,- 각 셀(1)에 대해 적어도 하나의 전계발광 요소(EEL)를 형성하는 적어도 하나의 전계발광 층(16)과,- 각 셀(1)에 대해 광전도 요소(EPC)를 형성하는, 상기 메모리 효과를 얻기 위한 광전도 층(12)으로서, 각 셀의 적어도 하나의 전계발광 요소(EEL)와 상기 광전도 요소(EPC)는 전기적으로 직렬로 연결되고, 상기 직렬로 연결된 요소들의 두 개의 가장 외측 단자는 그 중 하나가 상기 전면 전극 어레이(18)에 연결되고, 다른 하나가 상기 후면 전극 어레이(11)에 연결되는, 광전도 층(12)과,- 각 셀에서, 상기 패널의 적어도 하나의 전계발광 층(16)과 상기 광전도 층(12) 사이에서 광을 연결하기 위한 층(13)을 포함하는, 영상 디스플레이 패널에 있어서,각 셀(1)에 대해 상기 셀의 적어도 하나의 전계발광 요소(EEL)와 병렬로 위치한 병렬 요소(shunt element)(ES.EL)(21)를 포함하고, 상기 병렬 요소의 저항값은 조명에 좌우되지 않는 것을 특징으로 하는, 영상 디스플레이 패널.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 각 셀에 대해, 상기 셀의 적어도 하나의 전계발광 요소(EEL)의 병렬 요소(ES.EL)의 저항값(RS.EL)은, 상기 전계발광 요소(E EL)가 ON 상태일 때 갖는 저항값(RON-EL)보다 큰 것을 특징으로 하는, 영상 디스플레이 패널.
- 제 1항 또는 제 2항에 있어서, 적어도 하나의 전계발광 층(16)은 유기물인 것을 특징으로 하는, 영상 디스플레이 패널.
- 제 1항 또는 제 2항에 있어서, 각 셀에 대해, 상기 셀의 적어도 하나의 전계발광 요소(EEL)의 상기 병렬 요소(ES.EL)의 저항값(RS.EL)은, 여기 상태에 있지 않을 때의 대응하는 광전도 요소(EPC)의 저항값(ROFF-PC)보다 작거나 같고, OFF 상태일 때의 적어도 하나의 대응하는 전계발광 요소(EEL)의 저항값(ROFF-EL)보다 작은 것을 특징으로 하는, 영상 디스플레이 패널.
- 제 4항에 있어서, 상기 셀의 적어도 하나의 전계발광 요소(EEL)의 상기 병렬 요소(ES.EL)의 저항값(RS.EL)은 여기 상태에 있지 않을 때의 상기 대응하는 광전도 요소(EPC)의 상기 저항값(ROFF-PC)보다 엄격하게 낮은 것을 특징으로 하는, 영상 디스플레이 패널.
- 제 5항에 있어서, 상기 셀의 적어도 하나의 전계발광 요소(EEL)의 상기 병렬 요소(ES.EL)의 저항값(RS.EL)은 여기 상태에 있지 않을 때의 상기 대응하는 광전도 요소(EPC)의 상기 저항값(ROFF-PC)의 절반보다 작거나 이와 같은 것을 특징으로 하는, 영상 디스플레이 패널.
- 제 1항 또는 제 2항에 있어서, 각 셀(1)에 대해 상기 셀의 광전도 요소(EPC)와 병렬로 위치한 병렬 요소(ES.PC)(22)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는, 영상 디스플레이 패널.
- 제 7항에 있어서, 각 셀에 대해, 상기 셀의 광전도 요소(EPC)의 상기 병렬 요소(ES.PC)의 저항값(RS.PC)은,- 여기된 상태에 있지 않을 때의 상기 광전도 요소(EPC)의 저항값(ROFF-PC)보다 작거나 같고,- 상기 동일한 셀의 적어도 하나의 전계발광 요소(EEL)의 상기 병렬 요소(ES.EL)의 저항값(RS.EL)보다 크거나 같은 것을 특징으로 하는, 영상 디스플레이 패널.
- 제 8항에 있어서, 각 셀에 대해 RS.PC / RS.EL ≥2 인 것을 특징으로 하는, 영상 디스플레이 패널.
- 제 9항에 있어서, 각 셀에 대해 RS.PC / RS.EL ≥3 인 것을 특징으로 하는, 영상 디스플레이 패널.
- 제 1항 또는 제 2항에 있어서, 각 셀 내에서, 대응하는 전계발광 및 광전도 요소가 전기적으로 직렬로 연결되도록, 적어도 하나의 전계발광 층과 상기 광전도 층 사이의 각 경계면에서 전도성 요소를 포함하고, 다양한 셀(1, 1')의 상기 전도성 요소는 서로 전기적으로 차단되는 것을 특징으로 하는, 영상 디스플레이 패널.
- 제 1항 또는 제 2항에 있어서, 영상 디스플레이를 위하여 상기 셀을 구동하기 위한 수단을 포함하며, 상기 셀을 구동하기 위한 수단은, 상기 패널의 셀의 각 행에 대해서 연속적으로 상기 행에서 턴온(turn on)될 셀을 턴온시키도록 설계된 선택적인 어드레스 상태 이후, 상기 행의 셀들을 선행하는 어드레스 상태 동안 변경되었거나 유지되었던 상태로 유지하도록 설계된 비선택적인 지속 상태가 뒤따르는 하나의 절차를 수행하도록 설계되는 것을 특징으로 하는, 영상 디스플레이 패널.
