Claims (25)
- GPS 수신기에 있어서,외부에 전송된 GPS 신호를 수신하는 GPS 신호 안테나와,상기 안테나에 접속되어 상기 수신된 GPS 신호를 샘플링하는 아날로그-디지털 컨버터와,상기 GPS 신호 샘플을 저장하는 메모리와,상기 메모리 내에 저장된 상기 GPS 신호 샘플을 처리하여 의사 거리(pseudorange) 정보를 복원하는 디지털 GPS 신호 프로세서와,상기 수신기의 동작을 제어하는 제어기를 포함하고,상기 수신기는 상기 수신된 GPS 신호가 샘플링되어 상기 메모리 내에 저장되지만 상기 신호 프로세서가 상기 GPS 신호 샘플로부터 의사 거리 정보를 복원하기 위한 동작을 하지 않는 휴면 동작 모드와, 상기 신호 프로세서가 상기 GPS 신호 샘플로부터 의사 거리 정보를 복원하는 동작을 행하는 활성 동작 모드를 갖되,상기 제어기는 상기 수신기가 휴면 모드로 동작하는 동안 상기 수신기에 의해 수신된 GPS 위치 결정(position fix)을 위한 명령에 응답하여, 상기 휴면 모드를 상기 활성 모드로 변경하도록 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는GPS 수신기.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 휴면 모드에서, 상기 수신된 GPS 신호는 연속적으로 샘플링되어 상기 메모리 내에 저장되는GPS 수신기.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 휴면 모드에서, 상기 수신된 GPS 신호는 주기적으로 샘플링되어 상기 메모리 내에 저장되는GPS 수신기.
- 제 2 항 또는 3 항에 있어서,상기 휴면 모드에서, 상기 메모리는 시간적으로 서로 이격된 둘 이상의 분리된 GPS 신호 샘플 세트를 포함하는GPS 수신기.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 GPS 수신기의 파워 업(power up)에 응답하여 상기 휴면 모드로의 동작을 시작하도록 구성된GPS 수신기.
- 제 1 항 내지 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,유저 인터페이스를 더 포함하며,상기 수신기는 상기 유저 인터페이스를 통해 유저로부터 수신된 명령에 응답하여, 상기 휴면 모드로의 동작을 시작하도록 구성되는GPS 수신기.
- 제 1 항 내지 3 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,유저 인터페이스를 더 포함하며,상기 수신기는 상기 유저 인터페이스를 통해 유저로부터 수신된 명령에 응답하여, 상기 휴면 모드에서 상기 활성 모드로 동작을 변경하도록 구성되는GPS 수신기.
- 삭제
- 기지국과 양방향 통신하는 전송기와 수신기, 및 제 1 항에 따른 GPS 수신기를 포함하는이동 장치(a mobile unit).
- 제 9 항에 있어서,상기 이동 장치가 기지국으로부터 수신한 명령에 응답하여, 휴면 모드에서 활성 모드로 동작을 변경하도록 구성되는이동 장치.
- 제 9 항 또는 10 항에 있어서,상기 이동 장치로부터 상기 기지국으로 위치 정보를 전송하도록 구성되는이동 장치.
- 제 9 항에 있어서,양방향 무선 통신을 하도록 되어 있으며, 하나 이상의 영역으로 구성된 대응하는 다수의 중첩하는 서비스 지역을 정의하기 위해 각각의 지형학적 위치에 배치된 다수의 기지국 형태의 셀룰러 무선 전송 시스템과 함께 사용되는 이동 셀룰러 전화기의 형태로 된이동 장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 이동 전화기가 비상 호출이 이루어지고 있음을 인식함에 응답하여, 휴면 모드로 동작을 시작하도록 구성된이동 장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,휴면 모드로 동작하고 있을 때, 상기 이동 전화기가 비상 호출이 이루어지고 있음을 인식함에 응답하여, 상기 휴면 모드에서 활성 모드로 동작을 변경하도록 구성된이동 장치.
- 제 13 항 또는 14 항에 있어서,상기 이동 전화기가 비상 호출이 이루어지고 있음을 인식하는 것은 유저가 비상 호출 전화 번호의 하나 이상의 숫자를 입력할 때에 발생하는이동 장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 셀룰러 무선 전송 시스템의 기지국으로부터 수신된 신호의 강도에서의 변화에 응답하여, 휴면 모드로 동작을 시작하도록 구성된이동 장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,상기 이동 전화기의 검출된 움직임에 응답하여, 휴면 모드로의 동작을 시작하는이동 장치.
- 제 12 항에 있어서,리트랙트 가능(retractable) 커버를 더 포함하며,상기 커버의 유저 리트랙트에 응답하여, 휴면 모드로의 동작을 시작하도록 구성되는이동 장치.
