Abstract
Description
도 4를 참조하면, 기판은 어레이 기판 에지 영역, 어레이 기판 에지 영역의 안쪽에 배치된 C/F(Color Filter) 영역, C/F 영역 안쪽에 배치된 액티브 영역을 갖고, 기판 에지 영역 및 C/F 영역을 통해 액티브 영역까지 연장된 신호 배선들을 포함한다. 기판 에지 영역에 배치된 신호 배선들의 단부에는 테이프 캐리어 패키지(TCP)가 전기적으로 연결된다.
이에 도시한 바와 같이, 본 발명에 따르면 C/F 영역 외곽인 어레이 기판 에지 영역에 배치되어 외부에 노출된 신호 배선의 일부는 도전성 입자 또는 도전성 물질에 의하여 상호 쇼트될 수 있다. 본 발명에서는 신호 배선이 쇼트되는 것을 방지하기 위하여 어레이 기판 에지 영역에 배치된 신호 배선 중 TCP와 전기적으로 접속되는 부분을 제외한 나머지 부분은 실리콘등 비도전성 물질(30)을 사용하여 도포되고, 이로 인해 외부에 노출된 어레이 기판 에지 영역에 배치된 신호 배선이 입자나 도전성 물질에 의한 쇼트 발생 문제를 해결해 줄 수 있다.
본 실시예에서는 어레이 기판 에지 영역에 배치된 노출된 신호 배선들 중 TCP와 접속되는 부분을 제외한 나머지 부분은 모두 비도전성 물질(30)에 의하여 덮여 쇼트가 방지되고, 신호 배선들 중 TCP와 접속될 부분은 TCP에 의하여 덮이기 때문에 신호 배선들 중 어레이 기판 에지 영역에 대응하는 부분 중 외부에 노출되는 부분은 전혀 없게 된다.
Claims (2)
- 어레이 기판 에지 영역, 상기 어레이 기판 에지 영역의 안쪽에 형성된 컬러필터(C/F) 영역 및 상기 컬러필터 영역 안쪽에 형성된 액티브 영역을 포함하는 기판;상기 어레이 기판 에지 영역, 상기 컬러필터 영역을 통해 액티브 영역 내로 연장되는 신호 배선들;상기 어레이 기판 에지 영역에 배치되어 상기 신호 배선들과 전기적으로 접속된 테이프 캐리어 패키지(TCP); 및상기 어레이 기판 에지 영역에 배치되며 상기 테이프 캐리어 패키지에 의하여 덮이지 않고 노출된 상기 신호 배선들을 덮는 비 도전성 물질을 포함하는 액정표시장치의 게이트 구동 신호배선 보호구조.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, TCP는 복수개로 형성되며, 인접한 TCP를 연결하는 신호 배선은 상기 어레이 기판 에지 영역에 배치된 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 게이트 구동 신호배선 보호구조.
