Abstract
Description

Claims (17)
- 데이터 블록이 저장되는 대용량 주기억 디바이스를 가진 주 컴퓨터 시스템과, 데이터 블록의 백업 사본이 저장되는 대용량 백업기억 디바이스를 가진 백업 컴퓨터 시스템를 구비하는 컴퓨팅 시스템에서, 대용량 주기억 디바이스에서 손실이 있는 데이터 블록을 복원하는 방법에 있어서, 상기 방법은:대용량 주기억 디바이스에서의 데이터 블록의 손실이 있은 후에, 주 컴퓨터 시스템에 의해 처리되는 제1읽기 요청을 수신하는 단계와;백업 컴퓨터 시스템에 제1읽기 요청을 전송하는 단계와;백업 컴퓨터 시스템이 읽기 요청에 응답하여 대용량 백업기억 디바이스로부터 1개 이상의 데이터 블록을 복귀시킬때, 주 컴퓨터 시스템과 상관된 대용량 기억 디바이스에 1개 이상의 데이터 블록을 쓰기실행하는 단계와;주 컴퓨터 시스템과 상관된 대용량 기억 디바이스에 회복되는 대용량 백업기억 디바이스의 데이터 블록의 완전한 사본에 앞서, 주 컴퓨터 시스템과 상관된 대용량 기억 디바이스에 쓰여져 있는 1개 이상의 데이터 블록을 위한 제2읽기 요청을 수신하여, 주 컴퓨터 시스템과 상관된 대용량 기억 디바이스를 사용하는 제2읽기 요청에 반응하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 백업 컴퓨터 시스템에 제1읽기 요청을 전송하는데 사용되는 링크 이외의 통신 링크를 사용하는 주 컴퓨터 시스템에 백업 컴퓨터 시스템으로부터의 데이터 블록의 적어도 일부를 전송하여 주 컴퓨터 시스템과 상관된 대용량 기억 디바이스에 데이터 블록의 완전한 사본을 복구하는 단계를 부가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제2항에 있어서, 데이터 블록의 적어도 일부를 전송하는 단계가, 주 컴퓨터 시스템과 상관된 대용량 기억 디바이스에 앞서 쓰여진 1개 이상의 데이터 블록이 데이터 블록의 적어도 일부에 포함되지 않도록 유도하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제2항에 있어서, 데이터 블록의 적어도 일부를 전송하는데 사용되는 통신 링크는 백업 컴퓨터 시스템에 제1읽기 요청을 전송하는데 사용되는 링크보다 빠르고 그리고 데이터 블록의 완전한 사본을 복구하도록 일시적인 온-라인으로 전해져 있는 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 주 컴퓨터 시스템과 상관된 대용량 기억 디바이스는 대용량 주기억 디바이스와는 다른 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제4항에 있어서, 주 컴퓨터 시스템과 상관된 대용량 기억 디바이스는 대용량 주기억 디바이스를 대체하도록 설치된 대용량 신규 기억 디바이스인 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 주 컴퓨터 시스템과 상관된 대용량 기억 디바이스는 대용량 주기억 디바이스인 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 주 컴퓨터 시스템과 상관된 대용량 기억 디바이스에 복구되는 대용량 백업기억 디바이스의 데이터 블록의 완전한 사본에 앞서;쓰기 요청을 수신하는 단계;주 컴퓨터 시스템과 상관된 대용량 기억 디바이스에 쓰기 요청을 실행하는 단계 및;대용량 백업기억 디바이스에서 쓰기 요청이 실행되도록 백업 컴퓨터 시스템에 쓰기 요청을 전송하는 작용을 수행하는 단계를 부가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.

- 주 컴퓨터가 데이터 블록의 백업 사본이 저장되는 대용량 백업기억 디바이스를 구비한 백업 컴퓨터 시스템도 구비하는 컴퓨팅 시스템에 포함되는, 데이터 블록이 저장되는 대용량 주기억 디바이스를 가진 주 컴퓨터 시스템에서, 대용량 주기억 디바이스에서 손실이 있는 데이터를 복원시키는 방법이:주 컴퓨터 시스템으로부터 데이터 블록의 손실을 경험하는 단계;손실 데이터 블록으로 향해져 있는 읽기 요청을 대신하여 대용량 백업기억 디바이스로 향해지도록 대용량 백업기억 디바이스를 억세스 하는 단계;대용량 백업기억 디바이스로부터 데이터 블록 읽기를 수신하여, 대용량 주기억 디바이스에 데이터 블록의 주어진 복사를 생성하도록 수신 데이터 블록을 복사하는 단계;수신된 데이터 블록이 겹쳐쓰기 맵을 사용하는 대용량 주기억 디바이스에 복사 되어져 있는 것을 트랙킹 하는 단계;데이터 블록이 대용량 주기억 디바이스에서 손실된 후에 임의 시간에 존재하는 선택된 데이터 세트로서 선택된 데이터 세트를 보존하는 정적 스넵샷 사본이며, 대용량 백업기억 디바이스의 선택된 데이터 세트의 정적 스넵샷 사본을 백업 컴퓨터 시스템으로부터 수신하는 단계 및;겹쳐쓰기 맵에 현재에 있는 것을 나타내는 데이터 블록을 제외한 대용량 주기억디바이스에 정적 스넵샷 사본을 복사하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제12항에 있어서, 대용량 주기억 디바이스와 대용량 백업기억 디바이스 모두에 신규 데이터 블록이 저장되도록, 손실 주 데이터 블록의 적어도 하나에 신규 데이터 블록을 쓰기 실행하는 단계를 부가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제13항에 있어서, 신규 데이터 블록의 로케이션이 현재에 있는 것을 겹쳐쓰기 맵에 나타내는 단계를 부가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제12항에 있어서, 주 컴퓨터 시스템에 정적 스넵샷 사본을 물리적으로 전송하는 단계를 부가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제12항에 있어서, 억세스 단계는 컴퓨터 네트웍과 전화선의 적어도 하나를 통하여 정적 스넵샷 사본을 억세스 하는 단계를 부가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제12항에 있어서, 선택 데이터 세트는 전체 대용량 백업기억 디바이스를 나타내는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
