Claims (10)
- 대향 배치된 하부기판과 상부기판;상기 하부기판과 상부기판 사이에 개재되며, 유전율이방성이 음인 액정들로 구성된 액정층;상기 하부기판의 내측면 전체 상에 형성되며, 화소영역에 형성된 부분에 일정 규칙으로 배열되는 직사각형 모양의 다수개의 홀을 구비한 절연막;상기 절연막 상에 홀을 완전히 덮지 않도록 형성된 톱니 모양의 화소전극;상기 상부기판의 내측면 상에 형성된 상대전극;상기 화소전극과 액정층 사이 및 상대전극과 액정층 사이 각각에 형성된 수직 배향막; 및상기 하부기판과 상부기판의 외측면 각각에 편광축들이 상호 교차하도록 부착된 편광판;을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 수직 배향 모드 액적표시장치.
- 삭제
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 홀은 높이가 2㎛ 이하, 단변의 길이가 5㎛ 이하, 벽면이 10∼90°의 각도를 갖도록 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 수직 배향 모드 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 화소전극은 상기 화소전극으로 덮히는 홀 부분과 덮히지 않는 홀 부분의 비가 1:1∼5:1가 되도록 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 수직 배향 모드 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 화소전극은 이웃하는 화소전극간 간격이 10㎛ 이하가 되도록 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 수직 배향 모드 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 홀은 톱니 모양 화소전극의 오목부 및 볼록부 모두에 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 수직 배향 모드 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 상하부기판과 편광판 사이에 설치된 위상 보상판을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 수직 배향 모드 액정표시장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서, 상기 위상 보상판은 일축 또는 이축 위상 보상판이며, 상기 일축 위상 보상판은 위상지연 값이 40∼800㎚ 영역을 포함하고, 상기 이축 위상 보상판은 위상지연 값이 150∼250㎚의 영역을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 수직 배향 모드 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 액정의 유전율 이방성이 -2∼-10인 것을 특징으로 하는 수직 배향 모드 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 액정층의 두께는 2∼6㎛이고, 액정층의 두께와 액정의 굴절율 이방성의 곱은 200∼500㎚인 것을 특징으로 하는 수직 배향 모드 액정표시장치.
