Claims (11)
- 증폭기 시스템(90, 242, 800)에 있어서,실질적으로 일정한 엔벨로프(envelope) 입력 신호를 수신하기 위한 입력, 및 출력을 갖는 신호 증폭기(118, 248, 350);상기 신호 증폭기(118, 248, 350)의 출력에 결합되며, 부하 제어 신호에 응답하여 상기 신호 증폭기(118, 248, 350)의 출력에 여러 임피던스를 제공함으로써, 상기 실질적으로 일정한 엔벨로프 입력 신호에 원하는 진폭 변조(AM) 엔벨로프를 인가하여 AM 엔벨로프를 갖는 출력 신호를 생성하는 가변 임피던스 네트워크(120, 250, 352); 및상기 가변 임피던스 네트워크(120, 250, 352)에 결합되며, 상기 원하는 AM 엔벨로프에 응답하여, 상기 부하 제어 신호를 생성하는 엔벨로프 매핑 회로(116, 252, 356)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 증폭기 시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 원하는 AM 엔벨로프는 사용자 입력 정보로부터 산출되는 변조(modulation)인 것을 특징으로 하는 증폭기 시스템.
- 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 엔벨로프 매핑 회로(116, 252, 356)는 원하는 평균 전력 레벨의 표시를 수신하고, 상기 원하는 AM 엔벨로프의 표시 및 상기 원하는 평균 전력 레벨의 표시에 대한 응답으로서 상기 부하 제어 신호를 만들어내는 것을 특징으로 하는 증폭기 시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 신호 증폭기(118, 248, 350)의 입력에 결합되며, 입력 신호를 증폭 및 변조하여 실질적으로 일정한 엔벨로프 입력 신호를 생성하는 트랜스미트 회로(92 및 94, 240); 및상기 엔벨로프 매핑 회로(116, 252, 356) 및 상기 트랜스미트 회로(92 및 94, 240)에 결합되며, 왜곡 제어 신호를 생성하여 상기 왜곡 제어 신호를 상기 트랜스미트 회로에 인가하기 위한 왜곡 제어 회로(116 및 133)를 더 포함하며,상기 왜곡 제어 신호로 인해, 상기 신호 증폭기(118, 248, 350)에 상기 실질적으로 일정한 엔벨로프 입력 신호를 인가하기 전에 상기 트랜스미트 회로(92 및 94, 240)가 상기 실질적으로 일정한 엔벨로프 입력 신호에 사전왜곡을 인가하게 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 증폭기 시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 신호 증폭기(118, 248, 350)의 출력 및 상기 엔벨로프 매핑 회로(116, 252, 356)에 결합되며, 상기 출력 신호의 피크-에버리지 비율(peak-to-average rate)을 모니터링하여 상기 피크-에버리지 비율의 표시를 생성하기 위한 신호 품질 검출기(140)를 더 포함하며,상기 엔벨로프 매핑 회로(116, 252, 356)는 상기 피크-에버리지 비율의 표시에 응답하여 상기 부하 제어 신호를 생성하며, 이에 따라 상기 가변 임피던스 네트워크(120, 250, 352)가 상기 신호 증폭기(118, 248, 350)의 출력에 여러 임피던스를 제공해서, 상기 신호 증폭기(118, 248, 350)가 실질적으로 일정하고 사전설정된 피크-에버리지 비율을 갖는 출력 신호를 생성하게 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 증폭기 시스템.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 신호 증폭기(118, 248, 350)의 출력 및 상기 엔벨로프 매핑 회로(116, 252, 356)에 결합되며, 상기 출력 신호의 이웃 채널 전력(ACP; adjacent channel power)을 모니터링하여 상기 ACP의 표시를 생성하는 신호 품질 검출기(140)를 더 포함하며,상기 엔벨로프 매핑 회로(116, 252, 356)는 상기 ACP의 표시에 응답하여 상기 부하 제어 신호를 생성하며, 이에 따라 상기 가변 임피던스 네트워크(120, 250, 352)가 상기 여러 임피던스를 상기 신호 증폭기(118, 248, 350)의 출력에 제공해서, 상기 신호 증폭기(118, 248, 350)가 사전설정된 ACP 레벨 미만의 신호를 생성하게 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 증폭기 시스템.
- 변조된 정보 신호를 전송하기 위한 트랜스미터(66, 400)에 있어서,사용자 입력 정보를 데이터 스트림(data stream)으로 변환하고, 원하는 진폭 변조(AM) 엔벨로프를 나타내는 신호를 생성하는 제어 회로(70);상기 제어 회로에 결합되며, 일정한 엔벨로프 위상 변조(PM) 신호를 형성하도록 상기 데이터 스트림을 처리하는 트랜스미터 회로(92, 94); 및상기 트랜스미터 회로(92, 94)에 결합되며, 상기 일정한 엔벨로프 PM 신호를 수신하도록 결합된 전력 증폭기(118, 248, 350); 부하 제어 신호를 수신하도록 결합되며 상기 전력 증폭기(118, 248, 350)의 출력에 결합되는 가변 임피던스 네트워크(120, 250, 352) ― 상기 부하 제어 신호로 인해 상기 가변 임피던스 네트워크(120, 250, 352)가 상기 전력 증폭기(118, 248, 350)의 출력에 여러 임피던스를 제공하게 됨 ―; 및 상기 가변 임피던스 네트워크(120, 250, 352) 및 상기 제어 회로에 결합되며, 상기 원하는 AM 엔벨로프를 나타내는 신호에 응답하여 상기 부하 제어 신호를 생성하는 엔벨로프 매핑 회로(116, 252, 356)를 포함하는 증폭기 시스템(90, 242, 800)을 포함하며,상기 여러 임피던스로 인해 상기 원하는 AM 엔벨로프가 상기 가변 임피던스 네트워크(120, 250, 352)의 출력에서 상기 일정한 엔벨로프 PM 신호에 인가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 트랜스미터.
- 제 7 항에 있어서, 상기 전력 증폭기(118, 248, 350)의 입력에 결합되며, 원하는 평균 출력 전력의 표시에 응답하여 상기 일정한 엔벨로프 PM 신호의 진폭을 조정하는 가변 이득 소자(110, 246)를 더 포함하며,상기 제어 회로(70)는 상기 원하는 평균 출력 전력의 표시를 생성하며,상기 엔벨로프 매핑 회로(116, 252, 356)는 상기 원하는 평균 출력 전력의 표시에 응답하여 상기 부하 제어 신호를 생성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 트랜스미터.
- 제 8 항에 있어서, 상기 가변 임피던스 네트워크(120, 250, 352)의 출력에 결합되며, 상기 가변 임피던스 네트워크(120, 250, 352)의 출력에 실질적으로 일정한 임피던스를 제공하기 위한 아이솔레이터(91)를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 트랜스미터.
- 사용자 입력 정보를 전송하는 방법에 있어서,상기 사용자 입력 정보를 데이터 스트림으로 변환하는 단계;실질적으로 일정한 진폭 신호를 생성하는 단계;상기 실질적으로 일정한 진폭 신호를 전력 증폭기(118, 248, 350)에서 증폭하는 단계; 및원하는 진폭 변조(AM) 엔벨로프와 실질적으로 일치되게 상기 전력 증폭기(118, 248, 350)의 출력에 나타나는 부하 임피던스를 변화시키는 단계;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 사용자 입력 정보 전송 방법.
- 제 10 항에 있어서, 상기 원하는 AM 엔벨로프에 응답하여 부하 제어 신호를 생성하는 단계를 더 포함하며,상기 부하 임피던스를 변화시키는 단계는 상기 부하 제어 신호에 응답하여 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 사용자 입력 정보 전송 방법.
