Claims (7)
- 스위치 및 스위치와 통신하는 기지국을 포함하는 무선 통신 시스템에서, 무선 통신 시스템과 통신하는 이동국의 속도 측정 방법에 있어서,이동국으로부터 무선 주파수(RF) 신호를 수신하는 단계;제1 시간 주기 동안 RF 신호의 신호 품질을 측정하여 수신된 품질 신호를 생성하는 단계;수신된 품질 신호를 제1 시간 주기 동안 제1 샘플링 속도로 샘플링하여 제1 샘플 그룹을 생성하는 단계;수신된 품질 신호를 제2 시간 주기 동안 제2 샘플링 속도로 샘플링하여 제2 샘플 그룹을 생성하는 단계;상기 제1 및 제2 샘플 그룹에 응답하여 RF 신호의 신호 품질의 변화량을 계산하는 단계; 및상기 신호 품질의 변화량에 응답하여 속도 측정값을 결정하는 단계를 포함하며,기지국은 속도 측정을 기초로 조절되는 타이밍 속도로 다수의 핸드오프 요구를 스위치로 보내는 것을 특징으로 하는 이동국의 속도 측정 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 신호 품질의 변화량은 상기 제1 샘플 그룹내의 최소 및 최대 샘플에 대한 품질 측정값의 차이를 기초로 계산되는 것을 특징으로 하는 이동국의 속도 측정 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 신호 품질의 변화량은 페이드 깊이(fade depth) 측정값을 포함하며, 페이드 깊이 측정값을 임계값과 비교하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 이동국의 속도 측정 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 속도 측정값을 기초로 이동국과 이동 인덱스(mobility index)를 연관시키는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 이동국의 속도 측정 방법.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 이동 인덱스는 이동국의 전송 전력 레벨의 변화를 기초로 조절되는 것을 특징으로 하는 이동국의 속도 측정 방법.
- 무선 주파수 신호를 수신하는 안테나;무선 주파수 신호를 수신하고 측정된 품질 신호를 생성하는 무선 주파수단;무선 주파수단에 응답하며, 속도 측정 루틴을 가지는 메모리를 포함하는 프로세서; 및상기 프로세서에 응답하는 핸드오프 제어기를 포함하되,상기 프로세서는 상기 속도 측정 루틴을 수행하는 경우측정된 품질 신호를 제1 샘플링 속도로 샘플링하여 제1 샘플 그룹을 생성하고;측정된 품질 신호를 제2 샘플링 속도로 샘플링하여 제2 샘플 그룹을 생성하고;상기 제1 및 제2 샘플 그룹의 평균 페이드 깊이를 계산하고;상기 제1 및 제2 샘플 그룹의 평균 페이드 깊이를 기초로 속도 측정값을 결정하며,상기 핸드오프 제어기는 속도 측정값을 기초로 핸드오프 요구를 개시하는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 시스템의 수신기.
- 무선 통신 시스템에 있어서,수신기를 포함하는 기지국; 및상기 기지국에 응답하는 스위칭 장치를 포함하되,상기 수신기는무선 주파수 신호를 수신하는 안테나;상기 무선 주파수 신호를 수신하고 측정된 품질 신호를 생성하는 무선 주파수단;상기 무선 주파수단에 응답하며, 속도 측정 루틴을 가지는 메모리를 포함하는 프로세서를 포함하고,상기 프로세서는 상기 속도 측정 루틴을 수행하는 경우측정된 품질 신호를 제1 샘플링 속도로 샘플링하여 제1 샘플 그룹을 생성하고;측정된 품질 신호를 제2 샘플링 속도로 샘플링하여 제2 샘플 그룹을 생성하고;상기 제1 및 제2 샘플 그룹의 평균 페이드 깊이를 계산하고;상기 제1 및 제2 샘플 그룹의 평균 페이드 깊이를 기초로 속도 측정값을 결정하며,기지국은 속도 측정을 기초로 조절되는 타이밍 속도로 다수의 핸드오프 요구를 스위치로 보내는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 통신 시스템.
