Abstract

본 발명은 세장형의 하우징(10)과 그곳에 내장된 가스 발생기(18)를 구비하는 가스 백 안전 장치용 조립체에 관한 것으로, 가스 발생기(18)는 하우징(10)의 개방 단부들을 덮는 두개의 커버(14,16)사이에서 축방향으로 유지된다.

Description

가스 백 안전 장치용 조립체(ASSEMBLY CONSISTING OF AN ELONGATE HOUSING AND A GAS GENERATOR ACCOMMODATED THEREIN)
본 발명은 세장형의 하우징과 이에 내장되는 가스 발생기로 구성되는 가스 백 구속 장치 용 조립 체에 관한 것이다.
가스 발생기를 가스 백 구속 장치의 하우징에 설치하기 위해 통상 플랜지식 조인트를 이용하여 왔다. 이러한 플랜지식 조인트는 가스 발생기를 삽입한 후에 몇 개의 부품을 더 장착하여야만 하였다.
본 발명은 세장형의 하우징과 이에 내장되는 가스 발생기로 구성되는 하우징의 조립체를 제공하며, 이 조립체의 특징은 장착이 간단하며 통상적으로 사용되는 끼워 맞춤 및 장착용 부품을 필요로 하지 않는다는 데에 있다. 본 발명에 따라 가스, 발생기는 하우징의 개방 단부를 덮는 2개의 덮개 사이에 축방향으로 유지된다. 이러한 구조에 의해, 2개의 덮개 중 하나의 덮개를 먼저 하우징에 장착한 다음 가스 발생기를 하우징에 축방향으로 고정하고 이어서 나머지 하나의 덮개를 하우징에 삽입함으로써, 가스 발생기를 간단하게 하우징에 삽입한다. 그러나, 공차를 보상하기 위해, 그 단부가 하우징으로 돌출되는 체결 나사를 가스 발생기의 기저부에 대하여 죔으로써 가스 발생기의 기저부에 위치한 덮개를 끼우는 것이 바람직하다.
하우징의 세장형 본체는 대략 홈통 모양의 압출 프로파일 부재로 제조되는 것이 좋다. 이로 인해, 다양한 길이의 가스 발생기를 추가의 제조비를 들이지 않고 장착할 수 있다. 이러한 구성에 있어서, 가스 발생기는 가스 밭생기의 외주부를 부분적으로 에워싸면서 하우징에 고정된 지지판에 의해 하우징에 반경 방향으로 고정된다.
이하, 첨부 도면을 참조하여 본 발명의 장점 및 특징을 상세히 설명한다.

제1도에 도면 부호 10으로 도시된 하우징 조립체는 홈통 모양의 압출 프로파일 부재로 제조되는 세장형의 본체(12)와, 이 본체(12)의 개방 단부에 삽입되는 2개의 덮개(14,16)로 구성된다. 각각의 이 덮개(14,16)는 반경 방향의 벽(14a,16a) 뿐만 아니라 본체(12)의 내면과 접촉하는 외주벽 (14b,16b)을 구비하고 있다.
가스 발생기 (18)는 평탄한 기저부와 좁은 목부(neck)로 이루어진 세장형의 원통형 용기로 구성되어 있다. 가스 발생기(18)의 좁은 목부(18a)는 비드에 의해 단을 이루는 덮개(14)의 반경 방향 벽(14a)의 일부에 형성된 개구를 통해 돌출되어 있다.
덮개(16)는 체결 나사(20)로 끼워지며,이 나사의 내측 단추는 하우징 내로 돌출하여 가스 발생기(18)의 기저부에 대하여 죄여진다. 가스 발생기 혹은 하우징의 치수 공차는 상기 체결 나사(20)에 의해 보상된다.
더욱이, 덮개(16)의 반경 방향 벽(16a)의 일부에는 가스 발생기(18)의 안내 및 중심잡기용 표면을 제공하는 각인부(刻印部)가 형성되어 있다.
홈통형의 본체(12)의 개방 측면은, 가스 발생기(18)의 외주부를 부분적으로 에워싸고 2개의 측방 스트립(22a)을 따라 본체(12)에 연결되는 지지판(22)에 의해 고정되어 있기 때문에, 가스 발생기(18)도 하우징에 반경 방향으로 고정된다
조립의 목적상, 덮개(16)를 먼저 하우징(10)의 본체에 위치시켜 일단 그곳에 고정한다. 그 다음, 지지판(22)을 정위치시켜 본체(12)에 고정한다. 따라서, 가스 발생기(18)를 하우징의 길이 방향으로 밀 수 있고, 덮개(16)의 안내 및 중심을 잡아주는 표면에 의해, 가스 발생기의 중심이 잡히고 반경 방향으로 정렬된다. 그 다음, 덮개(14)는 본체(12)의 반대편 단부에 삽입되어 그곳에 고정된다. 체결 나사(20)에 의해 가스 발생기(18)를 어느 정도의 긴장 하에 축방향으로 고정 및 배치함으로써 가스 발생기의 조립이 완료된다.
본 발명에 따른 하우징 조립체에 의해 가스 발생기의 장착이 간단하게 이루어질 수 있으며, 통상적인 끼워 맞춤 및 장착용 부품을 필요로 하지 않게 된다.

Claims (6)

  1. 세장형의 하우징(10)과 이에 내장되는 가스 발생기(18)를 구비하며, 상기 가스 발생기(18)는 하우징(10)의 개방 단부들을 덮는 2개의 덮개(14, 16)사이에서 축방향으로 유지되는 가스 백 구속 장치용 조립체에 있어서, 각각의 상기 덮개(14, 16)는 하우징(10)의 내면과 접촉하는 외주벽(14b,16b)을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스 백 구속 장치용 조립체.
  2. 제1항에 있어서,상기 가스 발생기(18)는, 가스 발생기(18)의 외주부를 부분적으로에워싸면서 하우징에 고정되는 지지판(22)에 의해 하우징에 반경 방향으로 고정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스 백 구속 장치용 조립체.
  3. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 하우징의 세장형 본체(12)는 홈통 모양의 압출 프로 파일 부재로 제조되는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스 백 구속 장치용 조립체.
  4. 제1항에 있어서,상기 덮개 중 하나의 덮개(14)에는 가스 발생기(18)의 좁은 단부(18a)가 관통하는 개구가 마련되는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스 백 구속 장치용 조립체.
  5. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 덮개 중 나머지 하나의 덮개(16)는 채결 나사에 의해 끼워지고, 이 나사의 단부는 하우징 내부로 돌출되어 가스 발생기(18)의 기저부에 대하여 조여지는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스 백 구속 장치용 조립체.
  6. 제1항에 있어서,상기 덮개(14,16)케는 가스 발생기(18)의 안내 및 중심 잡기용 표면이 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스 백 구속 장치용 조립체.
