Abstract

본 고안은 차량, 특히 승용차의 측면 충돌시 승객의 머리를 보호하도록 헤드 레스트에 설치되는 승객에어백에 관한 것으로, 헤드 레스트에 장착하여 승객(운전자 포함)의 머리와 어깨부분을 측면충돌로 부터 보호할 수 있도록 하기 위하여, 인플레이터(10)가 내장되고 단부가 외면에 씌워져 고정되는 백(9)이 내장되며 가스압에 따라 작동될 수 있는 피스톤(7)이 내장된 실린더(8)가 일측에 형성된 가스 디스트리뷰터(1)와, 상기 피스톤(7)과 줄(13)로 연결되어 상기 인플레이터(10)의 폭발시 개방될 수 있는 커버(2) 및 상기 가스 디스트리뷰터(1)가 끼워져 고정될 수 있는 스테이(3)를 상기 백(9)이 헤드레스트(4)와 도어 사이의 전방으로 전개될 수 있도록 헤드 레스트(4)내에 설치한 것이다.

본 고안은 차량, 특히 승용차의 측면 충돌시 승객의 머리를 보호하도록 헤드 레스트에 설치되는 승객에어백에 관한 것이다.
종래에는 차량의 측면충돌시에 승객을 보호하기 위한 수단으로 좌석의 등받이 측면에서 백이 전개될 수 있도록 등받이내에 에어백 모듈을 설치하였다.
그러나 이러한 종래의 승객에어백은 승객의 팔부분(흉부측면)만을 보호할 뿐 치명적인 부상을 입을 수 있는 머리부분을 보호하지 못하였던 것이다.
본 고안은 헤드 레스트에 장착하여 승객(운전자 포함)의 머리와 어깨부분을 측면충돌로 부터 보호할 수 있는 측면충돌 머리보호용 승객에어백을 제공하는데 그 목적이 있는 것이다.
본 고안은 상기 목적을 달성하기 위하여 인플레이터가 내장되고 단부가 외면에 씌워져 고정되는 백이 내장되며 가스압에 따라 작동될 수 있는 피스톤이 내장된 실린더가 일측에 형성된 가스 디스트리뷰터와, 상기 피스톤과 줄로 연결되어 상기 인플레이터의 폭발시 개방될 수 있는 커버 및 상기 가스 디스트리뷰터가 끼워져 고정될 수 있는 스테이를 상기 백이 헤드레스트와 도어 사이의 전방으로 전개될 수 있도록 헤드 레스트내에 설치한 것이다.
이하 실시예 도면에 의하여 설명한다.
제1도 내지 제7도에 있어서 부호 1 은 가스 디스트리뷰터이고, 2 는 커버, 3 은 스테이, 4 는 헤드 레스트이다.
가스 디스트리뷰터(1)는 작은 외경의 인플레이터 내장부(5)일측에 큰 외경으로 확장된 백 내장부(6)로 형성되어 백 내장부(6)일측이 개방되도록 한 것으로 상기 인플레이터 내장부(5)일측에는 피스톤(7)이 내장된 실린더(8)가 형성되어 있다. 상기 인플레이터 내장부(5)내에는 측면충돌시 센서의 전원인가에 의하여 폭발하여 상기 실린더(8)와 백(9)내의 가스를 배출시킬 수 있는 인플레이터(10)가 내장되어 있고 백 내장부(6)내에는 백(9)이 내장되어 있다.
상기 백(9)은 제6도 및 제7도에 도시하는 바와 같이 단부에 철심(11)이 끼워진 상태로 재봉된 것으로서 이와 같은 백(9)의 단부는 상기한 가스 디스트리뷰터(1)의 백 내장부(6)외면에 씌워진 후 인플레이터 내장부(5)측에서 철심(11)을 조여 놓은 것이다.
또 상기한 피스톤(7)에는 커버(2)에 걸기 위한 훅(12)이 단부에 고정된 줄(13)이 연결되어 있다. 그리고 가스 디스트리뷰터(1)의 백 내장부(6)하부에는 스테이(3)에 고정시키기 위한 브래킷(14)이 용접되어 있다.
커버(2)는 헤드 레스트(4)의 커버링(15)내에서 가스 디스트리뷰터(1)입구에 설치되는 것으로서, 이 커버(2)의 후면 상부에는 훅 돌기(16)가 형성되어 있어 이 훅 돌기(16)에 상기한 피스톤(7)과 연결되는 줄(13)단부의 훅(12)이 걸려 있게 된다.
스테이(3)는 양쪽에 가스 디스트리뷰터(1)의 인플레이터 내장부(5)가 끼워질 수 있는 작은 내경의 링부(17)와 백 내장부(6)가 끼워질 수 있는 큰 내경의 링부(17')가 형성되고 큰 내경의 링부(17')하부에는 가스 디스트리뷰터(1)하부의 브래킷(14)이 고정될 수 있는 고정브래킷(18)이 용접되어 있다. 헤드 레스트(4)는 제1도의 우측 하단에 해당하는 커버링(15)부위가 인플레이터(10)폭발시 터져 커버(2)가 열릴 수 있도록 바느질되어 있다.
조립순서를 보면, 인플레이터(10)와 백(9)을 내장시킨 가스 디스트리뷰터(1)는 제4도와 같이 작은 내경의 링부(17)가 좌측에 위치하고 큰 내경의 링부(17')가 우측에 위치하는 스테이(3)의 우측에서 좌측으로 끼워진다. 이러한 상태에서 브래킷(14)과 고정브래킷(18)과를 볼트와 너트에 의하여 체결하고 커버(2)의 훅 돌기(16)에 훅(12)을 건 후 패드 또는 발포물과 함께 커버링(15)으로 씌워 바느질하면 하나의 승객에어백 모듈이 장착된 헤드레스트(4)가 완성된다.
헤드 레스트(4)가 등받이(19)에 설치되고 승객(20)이 착좌한 상태로 운행중 측면충돌이 일어나면 인플레이터(10)가 폭발하여 가스가 피스톤(7)을 미는 동시에 백(9)을 팽창시키게 된다.
피스톤(7)이 밀려나면 줄(13)을 당겨 커버(2)상부를 헤드레스트(4)내측으로 당기게 되고 동시에 팽창되는 백(9)은 커버(2)하부에 압력을 가하여 커버링(15)의 바느질부분이 터지면서 커버(2)하단이 상향으로 선회하며 열리게 된다. 이에 따라 백(9)은 헤드 레스트(4)와 도어(미도시)사이로 나왔다가 전방으로 전개되어 제8도와 같이 승객(20)의 머리와 어깨부분을 보호하게 되는 것이다.
이와 같은 본 고안은 헤드 레스트에 간단히 설치할 수 있고 설치공간이 적게 들며 측면충돌시 승객의 머리 및 어깨일부를 부상으로 부터 보호할 수 있는 것이다.

  1. 인플레이터가 내장되고 단부가 외면에 씌워져 고정되는 백이 내장되며 가스압에 따라 작동될 수 있는 피스톤이 내장된 실린더가 일측에 형성된 가스 디스트리뷰터와, 상기 피스톤과 줄로 연결되어 상기 인플레이터의 폭발시 개방될 수 있는 커버 및 상기 가스 디스트리뷰터가 끼워져 고정될 수 있는 스테이를 상기 백이 헤드 레스트와 도어 사이의 전방으로 전개될 수 있도록 헤드 레스트내에 설치한 측면충돌 머리보호용 승객에어백.
