Abstract
The passive separating/storing vessel cooling system uses a pressure difference, a direct steam condensation, and a filtering exhaust in a pressurized water reactor type nuclear power plant to ensure the safety of the power plant and the separating/storing vessel. The system comprises an inlet pipe into which a non-condensed gas flows, a hydrogen igniter for igniting the hydrogen generated upon the loss of a coolant, a condensing pool for condensing the steam flowing thereinto and collecting a condensible radioactive material, a filtering exhaust system for maintaining the pressure of the pool at a low state, and pipe and valve system for supplying the cooling water.
