Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent that turbine efficiency is lowered by desuperheating, by disposing a desuperheater cooled by condensate at a portion in condenser not disturbing the main flow of exhaust gas from turbine so as to lower the temperature of steam used for sealing gland of low-pressure turbine. CONSTITUTION:Sealing steam to be supplied to gland portion 7 of low-pressure turbine 3 consists of auxiliary steam 15 and steam 11 leaked from gland portions of high-pressure and intermediate-pressure turbines disposed on the upstream side, and this sealing steam is passed through steam pressure regulator 8. Here, in case that the amount of the sealing steam is superfluous, it is discharged to condenser 4 via pipe 16. In such a gland steam system, a desuperheater 26 is disposed on the inside of upper enlarged section 25 of condenser 4 for lowering the temperature of steam used for sealing the gland of low-pressure turbine, and conduit 12 for supplying low- pressure gland sealing steam is passed inside the desuperheater 26. The conduit 12 is branched from outlet 22 of condenser 4 and led to desuperheater 26 via conduit 23 for cooling the desuperheater.
