Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the inlet steam of a low-pressure turbine to protect turbine blades from overstressing and overheating, by introducing reheating steam of high temperature and pressure into a reheater from the downstream side of a steam regulating valve for main steam.
CONSTITUTION: Discharged steam from a high-pressure turbine 2 is dried by a moisture separator 3 and heated again by a reheater 4. Steam from a low-pressure turbine 6 is changed into water by a steam condenser 6. Some of steam downstream to a steam regulating valve 9 is introduced into the reheater 4 through a passage 11 equipped with a control valve 10, thereby reheating the steam discharged from the high-pressure turbine 2. Load control is effected by a steam regulating valve 9 so that the inlet pressure and outlet pressure of the high-pressure turbine 2 are almost proportional to the load. The temperature at the inlet port of the low-pressure turbine 6 is thus controlled to protect the turbine 6 from thermal fatigue and overheating.
