Abstract
PURPOSE: To keep the temperature in a cooling chamber constant and minimize the consumption of life of a shaft of revolution by feeding cooling steam of which temperature and volume are controlled to the high-pressure revolution shaft cooling chamber for a steam turbine, when the load variation rate is large or in starting.
CONSTITUTION: The cooling steam which is supplied to the high pressure revolution shaft of a high pressure turbine 17 from a steam mixing header 10 through a cooling vapour switching valve 16 is taken out from the main steam system and the inlet system of the first superheater 2, or the steam source having a higher pressure and a lower temperature in comparison to the main steam. The main steam from the main steam system is taken into the steam mixing header 10 through a flow-rate controlling valve 19, and the steam from the inlet system of the first superheater 2 is taken through a valve 5, a moisture separator 6, and a valve 7, or through a flow-rate controlling valve 8 after through a valve 4. The closing control of the flow-rate controlling valves 8 and 9 is performed by the outputs of a thermocouple 12 which measures the temperature inside the steam mixing header 10 and of other thermocouples 11 and 19.
