Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to utilize the solar heat, waste heat from a boiler or the like as an energy source by a method wherein the pressure of hydrogen gas generated from a metal hydride is utilized as a pressure source for pressurizing a fluid to be treated, in separating fluid components by utilizing a permeable membrane.
CONSTITUTION: Hot water formed by heating water in a heat collector 1 is once contained in a tank 2 and then it is used for heating a containing tank 3 for a metal hydride. The high-pressure hydrogen gas produced by heating the tank 3 is fed to a pressurizing pump 7 through a pipe 6, and after pressurizing the fluid to be treated, the hydrogen gas is fed back into the tank 3 through a pipe 8. A plurality of tanks 3 are provided. After releasing hydrogen by heating the tank 3, for example, the next tank 3' is heated, while the tank 3 is cooled by cooling water 4 supplied from a cooling water tank 5 and is fed with low-temperature hydrogen being returned from the pressurizing pump 7, resulting in that the metal in the tank 3 occlude hydrogen again.
