以下、本開示のインサートについて、図面を用いて詳細に説明する。但し、以下で参照する各図は、説明の便宜上、各実施形態を説明する上で必要な主要部材のみを簡略化して示したものである。したがって、インサートは、参照する各図に示されていない任意の構成部材を備え得る。また、各図中の部材の寸法は、実際の構成部材の寸法及び各部材の寸法比率等を忠実に表したものではない。

Claims (8)
- β−Si3N4を主成分として含有する窒化珪素質焼結体からなるインサートであって、
前記窒化珪素質焼結体は、表面から0.5mmの範囲を第1領域としたとき、
該第1領域は、酸素量が0.8質量%未満であり、ReMgSi2O5N(Reは、YbおよびYの少なくともいずれか1種)を有する、インサート。 - 前記窒化珪素質焼結体は、前記第1領域におけるReMgSi2O5Nの(11−1) の結晶面におけるX線強度Iaと、前記第1領域における前記β−Si3N4の(10 1)の結晶面におけるX線強度Ibとの比(Ia/Ib)が0.10以上である、請求 項1に記載のインサート。
- 前記窒化珪素質焼結体は、表面から1.0mm以上の範囲を第2領域としたとき、該第2領域における酸素量が1.10質量%未満である、請求項1または2に記載のインサート。
- 前記窒化珪素質焼結体は、Mgを0.05質量%以上、0.40質量%以下、Reを1.50質量%以上、1.70質量%以下含有する、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載のインサート。
- 前記窒化珪素質焼結体は、Zrを0.05質量%以上、0.15質量%以下含有する、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載のインサート。
- 前記窒化珪素質焼結体は、表面から1mmの範囲を第3領域としたとき、該第3領域における熱伝導率が61W/m・Kを超える、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載のインサート。
- 前記窒化珪素質焼結体は、表面から1mmの範囲を第3領域としたとき、該第3領域における熱伝導率が70W/m・K以上である、請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載のインサート。
- 第1端から第2端に向かって延び、前記第1端側にポケットを有するホルダと、
前記ポケットに位置する請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載のインサートと、を備えた切削工具。
