Abstract
Description
本発明のPVA系繊維を構成するPVA系ポリマーは、ビニルアルコールユニットを主成分とするものであれば特に限定されず、他の構成単位を有していてもかまわない。このような構造単位としては、例えば、エチレン、プロピレン、ブチレン等のオレフィン類、アクリル酸及びその塩とアクリル酸メチルなどのアクリル酸エステル、メタクリル酸及びその塩、メタクリル酸メチル等のメタクリル酸エステル類、アクリルアミド、N−メチルアクリルアミド等のアクリルアミド誘導体、メタクリルアミド、N−メチロールメタクリルアミド等のメタクリルアミド誘導体、N−ビニルピロリドン、N−ビニルホルムアミド、N−ビニルアセトアミド等のN−ビニルアミド類、ポリアルキレンオキシドを側鎖に有するアリルエーテル類、メチルビニルエーテル等のビニルエーテル類、アクリロニトリル等のニトリル類、塩化ビニル等のハロゲン化ビニル、マレイン酸及びその塩またはその無水物やそのエステル等の不飽和ジカルボン酸等がある。このような変性ユニットの導入法は共重合による方法でも、後反応による方法でもよい。
本発明の層状ケイ酸塩としては、その層電荷が0.2〜2.0であり、また陽イオン交換量が50〜200meq/100gであるような陽イオン交換能力を有するものが好ましい。
本発明のPVA系繊維の繊維膨潤度は200〜600%である。これは、繊維膨潤度が200%未満の場合は、処理液の浸透性が低下するため、吸着性が低下する場合があるためである。また、繊維膨潤度が600%よりも大きい場合は、繊維自体が多量の処理液を吸液してしまうため、繊維の膨潤に伴う寸法変化により、吸着処理後の回収や交換が困難になるとともに、PVA系樹脂の溶出や層状ケイ酸塩がPVA系繊維から脱落しやすくなるため、取扱性が低下する。更には、処理液が通過する隙間が小さくなり、通液性が低下する。
<PVA系繊維の作製>
平均重合度1700、けん化度99モル%のPVA((株)クラレ製、商品名:PVA−117)100質量部と、ベントナイト(クニミネ工業(株)製、商品名:クニピアF、平均粒子径:1μm)100質量部とを、800質量部のDMSO中に分散させ、105℃の窒素雰囲気下にて、PVAを加熱溶解し、紡糸原液を作製した。
紡糸性を、以下の評価基準に従って評価した。以上の結果を表1に示す。
乾湿式紡糸の際に、1時間以上連続して繊維が採取できた:○
乾湿式紡糸の際に、1時間以上連続して繊維が採取できなかった:×
作製した試料(約1g)を80℃の真空乾燥機にて24時間乾燥し、絶乾試料重量を測定した。次に、この試料を20℃のイオン交換水中に60分間、浸漬させた。次に、この試料をろ過して取り出し、表面に付着した水滴を、ろ紙を用いて軽く除去した後、浸漬後の試料重量を測定した。そして、以下の式(1)を用いて、作製した試料の膨潤度を算出した。以上の結果を表1に示す。

試料の膨潤度(%)=(浸漬後の試料重量÷絶乾試料重量)×100 (1)
吸着性の指標として、水溶性化合物であるメチレンブルーの除去性能(吸着率)を評価した。より具体的には、100ppmのメチレンブルーを含む水溶液500mLに対して1質量%となるように試料を添加し、20℃にて60分間攪拌した。そして、処理後の液を採取し、分光光度計(HITACHI製、商品名:U-2001 Spectrophotometer)を用いて664nmにおける極大吸収波長を測定し、処理後のメチレンブルーの濃度を算出した。そして、以下の式(2)を用いて、作製した試料の吸着率を算出した。以上の結果を表1に示す。

上述の吸着性評価直後の処理液の上澄みを採取し、濁度計(HACH製 2100Pポータブル濁度計)を用いて濁度(mg/L)を測定した。以上の結果を表1に示す。なお、濁度の値が高いほど、処理液の回収が困難であるため、取扱性に劣ると言える。
平均重合度1700、けん化度99モル%のPVA((株)クラレ製、商品名:PVA−117)100質量部と、ベントナイト(クニミネ工業(株)製、商品名:クニピアF、平均粒子径:1μm)300質量部とを、1600質量部のDMSO中に分散させ、105℃の窒素雰囲気下にてPVAを加熱溶解し、紡糸原液を作製した。
上述のベントナイトの代わりに、合成マイカ(コープケミカル(株)製、商品名:ME100、平均粒子径:5μm)300質量部を使用したこと以外は、上述の実施例2と同様にして、繊維(試料)を作製した。
ベントナイトの量を60質量部に変更したこと以外は、上述の実施例1と同様にして、繊維(試料)を得た。
ベントナイトの量を20質量部に変更したこと以外は、上述の実施例1と同様にして、繊維(試料)を得た。
まず、上述の実施例1と同様にして、乾湿式紡糸を行った後、得られた紡糸原糸を、180℃の第1炉、及び235℃の第2炉を有する熱風延伸炉中で、総延伸倍率(湿延伸倍率×熱風炉延伸倍率)が10倍になるように延伸し、5dtexの繊維を得た。そして、得られた繊維を5mmにカットし、本比較例の繊維(試料)を得た。
上述の実施例1と同様にして、ベントナイト100質量部(粉体)の吸着性評価及び取扱性評価を行った。以上の結果を表1に示す。
ベントナイトの量を450質量部に変更したこと以外は、上述の実施例2と同様にして、乾湿式紡糸した。
上述のPVAの代わりに、平均重合度1700、けん化度96モル%のPVA((株)クラレ製、商品名:PVA−CST)を使用したこと以外は、上述の実施例2と同様にして、繊維(試料)を作製した。
Claims (7)
- ポリビニルアルコール系ポリマーと層状ケイ酸塩とからなるポリビニルアルコール系繊維であって、
前記ポリビニルアルコール系ポリマー100質量部に対して、前記層状ケイ酸塩の割合が30〜400質量部であり、
繊維膨潤度が200〜600%であることを特徴とするポリビニルアルコール系繊維。 - 前記層状ケイ酸塩がスメクタイト系粘土化合物であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のポリビニルアルコール系繊維。
- 前記層状ケイ酸塩がベントナイトであることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のポリビニルアルコール系繊維。
- 前記層状ケイ酸塩の平均粒子径が0.1〜100μmであることを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項3のいずれか1項に記載のポリビニルアルコール系繊維。
- 請求項1〜請求項4のいずれか1項に記載のポリビニルアルコール系繊維からなる繊維構造体。
- 処理液中に含まれる被吸着物が吸着する吸着体であることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の繊維構造体。
- 前記被吸着物がカフェインであることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の繊維構造体。
