Claims (14)
- レーザ光源と、
前記レーザ光源から出射されたレーザ光を複数に分岐する分岐光学系と、
光強度を二次元的に変調する二次元空間変調素子を背面から照明する複数の照明光学系とを備え、
前記複数の照明光学系は、前記分岐光学系によって分岐された複数のレーザ光を拡大して、複数の領域に分割された前記二次元空間変調素子の各領域をそれぞれ照明することを特徴とするレーザ背面照射装置。 - 前記複数の照明光学系に入射する前記複数のレーザ光の進行方向は、全て同一方向又は一部が逆方向を向いており、
前記複数の照明光学系は全て同じ構成であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のレーザ背面照射装置。 - 前記分岐光学系は、前記レーザ光源から出射されたレーザ光を透過及び反射させることにより複数に分岐する複数の分岐素子を含み、
前記複数の分岐素子の透過率及び反射率の少なくとも一方は調整可能であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載のレーザ背面照射装置。 - 前記分岐光学系は、少なくとも1つのビームスプリッタを含み、
前記ビームスプリッタの透過率及び反射率の少なくとも一方は、面内で不均一であることを特徴とする請求項3記載のレーザ背面照射装置。 - 前記複数の照明光学系のそれぞれは、前記ビームスプリッタによって分岐されたレーザ光の光量を検出するセンサを含み、
前記センサによって検出される光量が所定の光量となるように、前記ビームスプリッタの透過率及び反射率の少なくとも一方を調整する調整部をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項3記載のレーザ背面照射装置。 - 前記調整部は、前記二次元空間変調素子に送られる画像データに応じて前記ビームスプリッタの透過率及び反射率の少なくとも一方を調整することを特徴とする請求項5記載のレーザ背面照射装置。
- 前記複数の照明光学系のそれぞれによって照明される前記二次元空間変調素子上の各領域の面積の総和は、前記二次元空間変調素子の面積よりも大きいことを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載のレーザ背面照射装置。
- 前記複数の照明光学系のそれぞれは、少なくとも1つのレンチキュラミラーもしくは少なくとも1つのシリンダーミラーを含むことを特徴とする請求項7記載のレーザ背面照射装置。
- 前記複数の照明光学系は、少なくとも1つのミラーを含み、
前記ミラーを回転振動させるミラー駆動部をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項7記載のレーザ背面照射装置。 - 前記レーザ光源を、レーザ光の光軸に垂直な面内で二次元的に回転させる光源駆動部をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1〜9のいずれかに記載のレーザ背面照射装置。
- 前記分岐光学系は、前記複数の照明光学系に向けてレーザ光を複数に分岐する複数の分岐素子を含み、
前記複数の分岐素子のそれぞれを振動させる分岐素子駆動部をさらに備え、
前記分岐素子駆動部は、前記複数の分岐素子で分岐された前記複数のレーザ光の光路を振動させることを特徴とする請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載のレーザ背面照射装置。 - 前記分岐光学系は、前記複数の照明光学系のそれぞれにレーザ光を入射させる複数の分岐素子を含み、
前記複数の照明光学系のそれぞれは、前記分岐素子から入射したレーザ光を反射させる第1の反射素子と、前記第1の反射素子によって反射されたレーザ光を前記二次元空間変調素子上の所定の領域に向けて反射させる第2の反射素子とを含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載のレーザ背面照射装置。 - 前記レーザ光源は、赤、緑及び青のレーザ光を出射することを特徴とする請求項1〜12のいずれかに記載のレーザ背面照射装置。
- 前記請求項1〜13のいずれかに記載のレーザ背面照射装置と、
前記レーザ背面照射装置によって照射された光の光強度を二次元的に変調する二次元空間変調素子とを備えることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
